Sketch and Stash Challenge #11

I found the Sketch and Stash Challenge #11 at
and decided to work up this card. I had made the heart one Wednesday afternoon when my card making buddy Cheryl came over to play, so it's been on my table for awhile waiting for a card. Then the pink gold glittery paper in the middle I found at Gotta Scrap in Rockwall, Tx. on a Saturday outing with Cheryl and my other good card making buddy Linda. What a neat store they have. They are one of the only independent stores left in our vicinity, it was a treat to meet the ladies that own the store, they're a talented bunch. Those were the new and neglected things in my stash. I hope you like my endeavor and I look forward to participating in your next challenge.

A Supply Challenge

This is my second card today. The gals over at have a supply challenge going on: use 2 designer papers, a brad, and a couple of ribbons(optional). I tried to stick with 2 papers but three seemed more pleasing and one ribbon. Hope you can see the lock and key brad in the picture it kind of blends in with the ribbon. I just loved this stamp when I bought it in January at the StampScrapArtTour in Mesquite, Tx., There were a lot of neat vendors there, check out their schedule you would enjoy one of their shows.

The Cuttlebug Spot-Challenge #32

Today I've made two cards for two different challenges so I'm going to post them separately. Here goes for the first one. Challenge #32 was to use brown, blue, and or orange, at one appealed to me because I've been using a lot of blue and orange lately. After I made my card in the process of preparing to post I reread the challenge, a quick oops ladies, I think you wanted more brown, but my card blank is brown craft even though it doesn't show that way on the inside of the card picture. Next time I play I'll be more careful. I've had this Cuttlebug folder for quite some time, your site has inspired me to use my Cuttlebug folders and dies more, look forward to playing along again.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #71

All thoughts and prayers go out to all our service families. My Dad was in the Air Force and my oldest son in the Army. We appreciate the freedoms they have all paid a high price for.
In being quite and reflective today I got to spend a little time in my card room. Here is a quirky take on the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #71 over at, I'm still pretty new to challenges so I hope it will qualify. My camera work is still a little blurry, I'm working on that. In the pebbles on the flower it says,"Dream A Little Dream".

It's A Grand Life

The whole week has gone by filled with general living and issues pertaining to just that and no art. I've missed all the deadlines to some challenges I wanted to participate in, so in defiance to general living keeping me out of my card room, I have decided to post a card I made a couple of months ago. I have really been drawn to copper and turquoise this year. Some of the blogs I was following had been using a chandelier stamp, so I looked through my stash and this is what I came up with: Supplies: Ivory Card Blank, Halcraft Value Pack-Hobby Lobby, Paperbilities Rhonna Furrer Printed Paper, Autumn Leaves, Stamp: Studio G, Cuttlebug Folder-D'Vine Swirl, Inks: Turquoise, Coppery Brown Pigment Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Metallic Rub-Ons, Craf-T Products, Inc. Stampin Up: Ticket Punch, Satin Ribbon. Elmers: Copper Leafing Pen.

The Sweet Stop Saturday Sketch #3

After making one card and getting all set to post it on the sketch site I discovered that I had used the same Basic Grey paper that Janette Olen had used only she put an ice cream cone on hers and I put some candles on mine. 1Card/2 Challenges

Another goal accomplished! I have made a card that will go with 2 challenges this week. The first is Mojo Monday Week 86 sketch challenge at and the second challenge is Pink Elephant Challenge #14 which is a color challenge using the colors light blue, med. or dk. blue, green and white at Now about my card: I got this stamp set last July '08 at Heirloom's Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in Grapevine, Tx.-, it is the Silhouette Set from A Stamp In The Hand, I just love their stamps. For some reason I'm really into Judikins copper embossing powder lately. The thank you stamp is Stampin Up True Friend set, background paper is CTMH, the inks are Ranger Distress Ink-faded jeans, antique linen, peeded paint, I also love the yellow sponges from the dollar store for applying ink to paper that I found out about from following Michelle Zindorf's blog-
Thanks for creating these challenges, it keeps our artistic juices flowing.

A Couple of Cards

I think I have strep throat beat. It's time to get back to some fun . Most of my cards go to family and friends so I have a lot of occasions every month. I made these 2 cards back in Jan. to start replenishing my card stash. I learned how to put my signature on my cards Fri. , but I won't put it on these two because I CASED them from card mags, changed them up a bit, but the original idea belonged to someone else. I think my recipients will enjoy them just the same.
The 1st card I used: Fiskar's Stars-1 template, assorted background paper scraps, and a Sharpie Metallic Silver pen to go around stars and squares.
The 2nd card I used: Stampendous Happy Heart Cube stamp, Stampin Up Loads of Love stamps, glitter paper, vellum, Fun Flock on the hearts in the truck, CTMH markers, and glitter brads from JoAnn's.
Thanks for taking a peek--

Best Layed Plans

I know there's a quote in there somewhere. I had a couple of challenges picked out and now I've been laid low by strep throat. Seems like a lot of the challenges start on Mondays so hopefully I'll be feeling better and can get back in my card room.
