Thankful Swirls

I had a card goal set for myself today, but alas didn't make the goal. Tomorrow is a new day and I will set a new goal, as my card says I'm very thankful, grateful, and appreciative to be able to set new goals. Speaking of this saying, Wednesday I received my new order from Stampin Up, this was one of the new stamp sets I had ordered and these are some of the fibers that my friend and I share when we find deals at the dollar store. At the Sketch and Stash Challenge we are always supposed to say what new or used things we have created with.
I seem to be stuck on 3Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Stamp: Stampin Up-Wandering Words, CTMH-D1181 Autumn Splendor, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, Ranger Adirondack-Woodlands, VersaMark Ink Pad, Stampin Up Clear embossing powder, Stampin Up-Sizzix Flourish, Marvy corner punch, The Paper Studio-sq. brads and mini heart brad, fibers from dollar store, pop dots.

I need to amend this post to include another challenge. Last evening I didn't look at my list of challenges to do list close enough, so scroll down to see the added challenge.
I wish the guitar background paper had photographed better. The guitars are silver, that's the first photo I'm not real pleased with since my hubby got me my new photo light box setup. It looks good in person. I find myself collecting more and more Inkadinkado stamps, they really catch my eye.

Triple Trees

I've had this set of stamps for quite some time, just thought they were so cute. I saw a lot of gals using them and then didn't want to copy them, their cards were really cute. So, I've let them sit and tonight when I was choosing papers and thinking of what to do for the Colour Q challenge it came to me in a flash, my little trees. This was even my own sketch. Of course, when you do so many sketch challenges I'm sure that this sketch is somewhere in my mind that I've seen from someone else's challenge, pretty basic 3 in a row. I think it turned out kind of neat though.

Heart's Get Well Soon

Good afternoon! I'm taking part in my first blog hop at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge . It's been very interesting so far. I had to stop at Line's blog because she challenged us to make a Get Well or Thinking of You card. I've had this heart paper from The Paper Studio for awhile. I've tried using it several times, but today was the day. Line really impressed me because she does the front, inside, and back of her cards so they're pretty no matter which way you handle them. My Grandmother and Mom started me doing crafts at a very young age and the main thing my Grandmother always stressed was the back and inside always had to look as good as the front.
If you've got some time and like to do blog hops or have never done one like me, hop over to Stamptacular and have some fun and compete for some neat prizes, also.

Supplies: Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" Kraft Note Cards, Papers: The Paper Studio, Marco's, and some from my scrap stash, Stamps: Clearly Wordsworth, Heidi Grace, Ink: Stampin Up-Bravo Burgandy, VersaMark Ink pad, Stampin Up-clear embossing powder, ribbon and cord from my scrap stash, decorative scissors.

Look Out Ghost

One card so far today. Now that I'm back in my card room I've got lots of ideas swirling in my mind. I worked on my blog layout today and added my favorite challenges by the day they fall on, under all the banners I've been able to figure out how to retrieve so far. I did not put on there and I should put it at the top of those the Mother of all challenge blogs . Deb Felts does a wonderful job of providing lots of sites to fuel all our junkie fire.
I think I've hit 5 challenges with this card. 3 of the challenges had very similar colors, one wanted Things that go Bump in the Night, and one is the sketch with a spin, we were to use something recycled, I used a piece of chip board from the bottom of the sack that my cats food came in to stamp and emboss my purple ghost. Check out the clickable links below for lots of great inspiration.

I got 2 cards made, I was going to say today, but I see it's after midnight, so I got 2 cards made yesterday. It started raining at 4:30 a.m. yesterday morning and has been raining steadily all day. I am so glad we are at the top of the hill in our neighborhood because I know in my heart that our house we moved from 3 yrs. ago because of flooding is probably flooded.
Onto my cards, cause I think they turned out pretty cute.
The first card is for 3 challenges:

  • The 2nd challenge is back over at it is for their regular Monday challenge and it is CNFS-Sparkle Girl. We were to include the Faux Silk technique on our card, and since I had never tried this before it was a neat challenge within a challenge. It is the middle panel on the front of the card, I think it turned out pretty neat and I'll be using this technique some more. It was fun, there is a clickable link on the cceestampers blog for the instructions.

Slippers and Cards Again

One pair of slippers today. Just had to post a picture, a new pattern, I just loved the way the loopy cuff turned out.
Squeezed in a couple of cards after dinner and after I got hubby off to work. The first one is a Joy Christmas card and it is for the Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge 36 at . I used the Magic of the Season paper pack and the stamps to go with it from Hobby Lobby, the black, red, and cream theme really caught my eye.
The second card I'm entering in 2 challenges:
On this card I used We R Memory Keepers Halloween Scrapbook Pad. I've got to give a quick shout out to Remember When...Scrapbook Store in Whitesboro, Tx. We have so few independent store owners left that when we find a wonderful store tucked in a small town in N. Texas we ought to give them some of our business. Check them out, they're very nice people. Now, back to supplies. Happy Halloween stamp-Little Yellow Bicycle, CTMH Goldrush embossing powder, orange dot stickers, ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

Slippers and a Card

I want to start this post with a big shout out to Joyce Lucas. She is the founder of The Pink Slipper Project . She and a whole lot of other talented people are donating slippers to women's and young women's shelters across the country. Please hop over and check out her web site, she provides patterns and lots of interesting information. She even lets non sewers like myself participate in her project. I have 4 pair of slippers finished and plan to get at least 4 more finished this week to get in the mail Monday.
After making the big push to finish my afghan project(15 afghans), that was a huge personal success and the big push on World Card making day I've kind of been MIA from my card room.
This evening was a quick card. I always check The Daily Dare to see what's new in the challenge world. is hosting a new Tuesday Throwdown Challenge so to start getting my artistic mojo going again I'm entering this card in their challenge.
This card was made with American Traditional Celebrate Scrapbook bundle papers, Fiskars-how many candles clear stamps, Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink, ribbon from Hobby Lobby, and my trusty Value Packs of Card Blanks from Hobby Lobby-this one is 5 1/2" X 4" so I made 2 of these cards and started a new box of cards to mail to Operation Write Home .

World Card Making Day

My friend Linda came over yesterday for a fun day of card making and boy did we have fun. We had decided to dedicate yesterday to filling our first box of cards to go to the Operation Write Home project, this is the new name for Cards For Heroes. We have been interested in getting involved in this for a while now and what a perfect day to start such a worthy project.
The first picture you see above are some cards Linda made yesterday, I'm posting them here, and clapping her, she makes some really fantastic cards and doesn't get the clapping she deserves.
The second picture is the card I'm going to use for my Christmas cards this year. In 2007 I purchased the Festive Christmas Card Set from the Paper Cut at the January Grapevine Stamp Show, pop over and check out their site, they have a lot of neat cards in shapes and envelops to match, you might find something you like too. There are 50 cards with the stamps and ribbon and every thing cut to make the cards. I just loved the stamp and the saying and these were going to be my Christmas cards that year, but the best laid plans sometimes go by the way side. I thought to myself what a way to share, so I decided to make 25 for Operation Write Home and 25 for myself, so I guess saving that project til now was what was intended all along.
Then to our surprise late yesterday afternoon our friend Cheryl came over for an early surprise birthday for Linda and to work on some invitations she was making for a friend. We noshed on sandwich, veggie, and fruit trays and had some gourmet strawberry cupcakes that Cheryl brought us. We were putting the finishing touches on our Operation Write Home box until 10 p.m.,we filled it with 68 cards, not to bad for a first box. It's been awhile since I've been in my card room and it was a really fun day and a fun way to be creative.
