Lemonade Life

My husband has been on vacation this week and we've been getting a lot of things done. One of them is the new look to my blog, I love it! The week isn't over yet, we still have some general living to do. I had a lofty goal for my cards today and the day isn't over, I may squeeze a couple of more in.
I want to thank everyone who commented on my pink Christmas card, it's always nice to get lifted up when you feel you have fallen down. This card kind of goes along with that, I didn't realize that until just now. Check the links below to see just what challenges I entered this in:

Special Friend & Special Husband

I have to do a SPECIAL post tonight. It is really a wonderful thing in life when a person is blessed with people who are interested in helping you with the projects and interests that make you happy.
My friend Linda and I have many interests in common. She encouraged and helped me start my blog. Now, she and the other most special person in my life who has been encouraging and funding my hobbies and interests for 40 years, my husband, have helped me to come up with a really neat header for my blog. From the very beginning I wanted a heart in between Gott and Art and Wah Lah--these two listen and research and teach me how to accomplish!
A Special Thank You to both of these Special People!!

Santa Bringing Goodies

I'm starting the day with Christmas. In 2007 when I found Addicted to Rubber Stamps they were offering this package deal on 7 sets of See-D's Christmas stamps at a super bargain, how much you ask, well, I wasn't keeping up with things like I am now because that info wasn't relevant to anyone but me. Addicted to Rubber Stamps already has great deals and if you don't know about them click on the link and go visit, they run all kinds of specials all the time.
These are the majority of my Christmas stamps so you'll be seeing a lot of them on my Christmas cards and projects.

Eat, Drink & be Scary

I'm breaking some rules on this one at stamptacularsundaychallenge , to be entered for their prize we were supposed to only enter their challenge. Even though it's nice to win, for this one I'm entering on their site just for fun because they are the ones that were the starting point for this card. As I thought about it and began to work on it, it just kind of took on a life of it's own and WahLah this is the finished product. Danni over at dannisdreamscrafts
likes a butterfly or fairy on our creations, I hope she lets the little moth by the cats knee pass.
Hmmm, today looks like a break the rules day, all in fun.

Santa Sleigh

It's time to get started on all things holiday, it will be here before we know it. When I was growing up and my Mom and Grandmother were doing all the preparation and work that goes into the holidays they just didn't seem to go by as fast as they do now. I know they planned ahead, I just don't ever remember them talking about Christmas in July.
I had to hold the card closed so you could see the layering. The bottom layer is that same border punch just with the little tips cut off, and after about 6 trys you got my fingers and a clear picture of Santa.

4 Challenges:
Supplies: Green Card Blank 51/4" X 71/4" Primary Colors Value Pack-Hobby Lobby, papers from my scrap stash, Fiskars border punch, Fiskars Shape Cutter Template-Ovals-1, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Inkadinkadoo Blending Chalks, Stamps: See-D's-#50316 Traditional Christmas, #50319 Christmas Messages, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-Clear Star, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-gold, CTMH markers-creme brulee, brown bag, black, garnet, cranberry, topiary, desert sand, vanilla cream, parchment, sunflower, Stampin Up marker-ruby red, Starform Outline Stickers, pop dots.

Pink Glitter Butterfly

Here it is again, my favorite at the moment paper. Who would have thought one 12 X 12 sheet of paper would go so far(there's still a little left), it's at Gotta Scrap in Rockwall, Tx. You'll have to click on the picture to see the embossing on the brown card stock, it's very subtle. I got my sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and my color combo from Dannis Dreams Crafts and the 3rd challenge I'm listing is for CCEE Stampers, their challenge is for a Summer Fun card. I've said before we're not beachy or pool people anymore. So, I thought I would do a little different take on summer fun with a pretty glitter butterfly. My computer is right by a front window that I look out on a flower bed. This year I've had butterflies and Mom and Dad mockingbirds coming to sit on my wrought iron heart fussing at my cat through the window. That's been a fun thing to watch. They've made my cat a nervous wreck because she can't get out there to get them.
Check out the links below for a lot of talented interpretations on these 3 challenges:

Supplies: Card Blank-Ivory 5" X 61/2" Value Pack Hobby Lobby, brown card stock from my scrap box, pink pearl card stock-Pearlescent Paper Pack Wal Mart, Iron Orchid Designs-Flirty Little Secret Shimmer paper, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-Gold, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, CTMH marker-parchment, Cuttlebug Cut and Emboss-Butterflies, Spellbinders Nestibilities-S4 124 Classic Scallop Circle Lg., Stampin Up-Sizzix texture plate-Eyelet, computer generated sentiment, gold dot stickers, Starform Outline Stickers, brown Sharpie marker, pop dots.

Pumpkin Treats

I'm still snatching moments in my card room, but that's o.k., moments are better than noments.
Project Tuesday is to make a little box that will hold 4 pieces of Ghirardelli candy. I've never eaten the candy, but I use the chocolate in a can instead of Hershey's cocoa. This box was very easy and I will be making a bunch more. I keep using this particular stamp, it's so versatile, and the faces are fun, that's the way I like to keep Halloween.

Happy Fall Y'all

I'm breaking the frost on the pumpkin. I've made a couple of Christmas projects for Christmas in July. I know some of you summerfiles and Christmasfiles might not be ready, but I'm more of a pumpkinfile, and if I do say so myself, I like the way this card came together.
Actually, I'm applying this to 2 sketch challenges. Melissa over at Tuesday Morning Sketches has started a new sketch challenge blog, I didn't find it for the 1st one so this card applys for the 2nd challenge. Her sketch was similar to Sweet Stop Sketches so I'm taking a little bit of artist tweaking and entering my card for both. Then, as you will see below there are 3 other challenges I think this card will fit. Check out the sites, you'll find lots of eye candy to browse.

5 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 61/2" X 5" cut from brown card stock(my stash), rust and green card stock my stash, gingham card stock-Stampin Up, designer paper-Debbie Mumm Harvest & Holiday paper stack-Jo-Ann's, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, VersaMark Embossing Ink Pad, Ranger Fine Embossing Powder, Stamp: Hero Arts-H1280 Silly Pumpkin Border, Spellbinders Nestabilities-S4 133 Classic Scallop Rectangles, Lg. , silk leaves, Lg button-Wal-Mart, Hemp Cord-orange, small button brads, small heart brad, metal dot stickers, Stampin Up-ticket punch, Elmer's Copper Leafing pen, CTMH markers-cremebrulee, orange, sunkiss yellow, goldrush, sunflower, black, topiary, Stampin Up marker-dusty durango, computer generated sentiment inside, pop dots.

I see this coming weekend is Heirloom's Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festivals show in Grapevine, Tx. I got this stamp at the January show. Sadly, I will have to miss the show this weekend, but I'm saving up and will go again in January. Probably a good thing I'm not going since you see how long it takes me to use something new. Flirty Fan

Well, I see I'm into Monday. Good morning all!
You'll have to trust me on this one, the colors are Pink, Rose, Moss, and Vanilla. When I decided to enter the Use Your Scraps 1st challenge I needed some colors, and I found on my list Color Dare
which, of course, led me to my favorite paper, and believe it or not I'm coming to the end of my first 12 x 12 sheet, The Flirty Little Secrets Shimmer, on each end and in the middle. Hence, the name of my project. Hope you check out both of these sites, I think you'll find some fun going on.

Queen of Hearts

What an appropriate way to start out the week. I've declared myself Queen of Hearts. I'm really having fun with the projects at SAS Project Tuesday . I don't usually do much except cards, but these girls really have me creating outside my box. My friend Linda http://multicoloured-imagery.blogspot.com provided me with the badge holder, it's nice to have friends who share. At first I said who will I make a bag tag for, but then it came to me--ME! I should have made this for Linda, but since I had already declared myself Queen, I couldn't pass, Queen's are like that.

Birds of a Feather

I was going to post the inside of my card also, but it turned out pink, yuk, even though I took it just a few seconds after this photo with the same lighting. Oh well, I wouldn't have put these colors together myself, but the gals at Color Throwdown have. It's a lot more turquoise in person and I think it turned out kind of cute because on the inside I put, Birds of a Feather Flock Together for a Happy Birthday!

The Pink Elephant #22

A stand alone challenge to start today. I have big goals for today, we'll see later tonight if I accomplish them.
The Pink Elephant Challenge blog was the first challenge I entered and the fun hasn't stopped yet. Lori Byrd has also created a social network over on NING as a place for all us to get together and share ideas and talents. You're invited to come join in the fun http://thepinkelephant.ning.com
Now onto the challenge. I was looking through my stash to come up with something different for this one. The challenge is Stars and Strips, as much as I love red, white, and blue I don't have many birthdays in July I can use that color scheme on. I found these cute Penny Black Stickeroos , going through your older stash is like going shopping, now I don't know if Penny has these stickers anymore because they are some of the first card making supplies I bought. I'm sure Penny has some new designs that she would be happy for you to browse at her site.
With the theme and these stickers my card was launched(a small pun). I color copied some of the stickers because I wanted to pop them up and cut them apart in different ways, since I'm not selling my cards I think this will be o.k.

1 Challenge:
Supplies: Card Blank 5" X 7" White Value Pack Wal Mart, dry embossed stars, Penny Black Stickeroos, Inkadinadoo Artistic Blending Chalks, torn paper strips from my paper stash, small gold star brads, sentiment-my handwriting, pop dots.

Dream Theme Going On

I seem to have a dream theme going on today, maybe I need a nap. The first 2 challenges I picked I think are on track. Denise over at Stamping Vacation says the chase is on this week, well, you have to look inside my card to find the chasing. Maybe, she'll let me in.
The main image is a Paula Best stamp. It is an unmounted that I've had for a couple of years, I couldn't find the number to it, but I'm sure if you go visit this very talented lady at http://paulabest.com you'll find lots of interesting things.
I've been relaxing after dinner, blog hopping, and I found over at Suink and More a challenge for stripes and since I just made this card this morning I thought I would edit this post to include this challenge, lots of talent over there, go visit.

4 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 6 1/2" X 5" Black Value Pack Hobby Lobby, pattern paper-DCWV The Glitter Stack, Stampin Up-Whisper White card stock, Stamp: Paula Best unmounted, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Studio 18 Epoxy Stickers-Michael's, sentiment-computer generated.

A Dreaming Start to the Day

I was going to go to bed a little earlier than I usually do, but when I finished this card I thought it turned out lovely. The colors in my photo are much darker than in real life. Even though I've gotten some good tips on my lighting issues I haven't resolved them yet, soon. The card is so soft and dreamy.

SASSC 22

Today has been very sluggish for me, couldn't decide which direction to go first. I've talked about a little trip I took with my friends Linda and Cheryl took to Rockwall a couple of months ago to http://www.gottascraprockwall.com , we got a lot of neat things that day. One of my purchases was Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter. I think when you click on the picture you will be able to see that's what I used on the frosting with some other beads and gemstone sticker in the mix, and when you use Amy's Glittering Glue, it dries clear, and has a great little tip for controlled applying. Oh, and I paper pieced the cupcake wrapper. This card is for one challenge and I may have missed their deadline, but I will post it for fun anyway.

1 Challenge:
Supplies: Card Blank 51/4" X 71/4" Primary Fashion Colors Value Pack Hobby Lobby, papers from-DCWV Scrapbook Kit in a Stack Birthday, Stampin Up-Whisper White card stock, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, CTMH markers: Baby Pink, Bubblegum, Sunny Yellow, Sunflower, Creme Brulee, Heavenly Blue, Crystal Blue, Cocoa, Sakura Gelly Roll pen-Clear Star, Hero Arts-gemstone stickers, small beads, Amy"s Glittering Glue-Gotta Scrap, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter-Gala Glitz White, Stamp: Art Gone Wild-M4-2140 Cupcake Deagram, Stampin Up-ticket punch.

TSSC 77 and Color Throwdown #49

My card turned out kind of Victorianish looking, hmmm, I can't quite get into the summery thing. When I go through my papers and stamps and light on ones I want to use sometimes I don't back up and start again, so projects don't always turn out like I envisioned. Tammy over at Color Throwdown set the challenge for coral, chocolate chip, and soft blue. I had this stripe paper sitting on my work table and it just seemed to fit. I'll be using this card for an anniversary card.
Hope I haven't mangled these 2 challenges.

2 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 61/2" X 5" Ivory Value Pack Hobby Lobby, papers from my paper stash, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, CTMH-Z2160 Twilight, Stamp: CTMH-D1309 Heartthrob, VersaMark Pen, Ranger Fine Embossing Powder, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, Stampin Up-Sizzix texture plate Damask, (no pop dots).

Recipe, Sketch, and Color Challenges

This card was a little outside my box, but I squeezed it in anyway. I'm kind of like Gloria at 365 Cards a couple of the ingredients in the recipe got doubled or tripled, but after mulling this over in mine and Gloria's defense, it's a balance thing, and all in fun.
I promised I'd brighten things up.

4 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 5" X 5" cut from green card stock, patteren paper from my paper stash(don't remember where I got this one), flowers-Wal-Mart, buttons-Wal-Mart, and ribbon, Inks: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, CTMH-Z2114 Cocoa, Kaleidacolor-Autumn Leaves, corner embellie-Playhouse Plastic Photo Corners-Big Lots, CTMH-White Daisy Rub-Ons, Hero Arts-Gemstone stickers, Stamps: My Sentiments Exactly-Q704, Hero Arts-CL139 Birthday Messages, CTMH markers-Sunflower, Black, Sunkiss Yellow, Key Lime, glue dots, pop dots.

I'm getting on board with the digi stamping. I've used the digi stamp set I won from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and some digi art from Printmaster 11. One of the challenges I chose calls for buttons and believe it or not these stars have holes to be used as buttons, you'll have to enlarge the picture to see, hope I pass muster.

6 Challenges

I tried to read everyone's rules very carefully and I think all 6 blogs allow multiple challenges. Everyone else is using bright summery colors but I seem to keep coming up with these soft colors. I was going to end July 4th with a 3rd post, but by the time Mom and I got home from the fireworks, by the way they were exceptionally sparkly and Mom really enjoyed, I'll always have happy memories of our times together. Then I had to reboot my computer, so now we begin July 5th. A simple beginning, no bling, no zing, sometimes it's nice to come up with a pleasant simple card.

Christmas in July

Getting in the Christmas spirit. The gals at Stamps and Smiles got me started last week with the cute little bag I entered, so I thought I would continue in the same theme because the other challenge blogs are getting into the spirit also. Last year I made a really neat project for family and friends for their gift and I still have a lot of neat paper left. These projects for project Tuesday are really inspiring me to get in my stash and make some neat gifts for this year.

US Independence Day

I'm spending some time in my card room doing a little creating. Tonight Mom and I will go to our firework viewing spot, we've had it staked out for several years now, and watch fireworks. Even though she's not leaving the house much anymore she says she's going to take an afternoon nap because she does love the fireworks, fortunately she can sit on the back end of my car no walking involved, should be cool after 10 p.m.
I visited Tilda and Friends again, they have gotten me very interested in ATC's, and by now you may have discovered I have to get a heart somewhere on every thing I make.

4 Challenges

This is going to be my take on summery for now. We're not beachy, lake, picnicy, people anymore, and a lot of gals are using some really cute kid stamps and digis. I just don't have that kind of stamps. I'm usually out of step with everyone, my husband says that's why I'm a dabbling artist. I think that's what attracted me to Paula Best and her rubber stamp line. She's a very talented for real artist, if you're not familiar with her work go check out http://paulabest.com
I'm going to enter my very different card in 4 Challenges:

OCC Challenge-Sketch Challenge-CCC Challenge17 Weddings

Today I thought I'd been very clever to come up with a totally different Wedding card. Trouble is, after I got it all put together wrote inside with my own handwriting and tied that clever little knot with the cute heart trim I realized there is no stamping on it. It is totally a clever(oops, there's that word again) use of papers and embellishments. Maybe the Creative Card Crew
will let me slide just on my cleverness(I do love that word) this time. Jennifer Meyer at Our Creative Corner came up with this sketch and I think I stayed pretty close to it, they're very creative over there check it out.
2 Challenges
Supplies: Card Blank 5" X 7" Value Card Pack Hobby Lobby, Designer papers-K & Co. Brenda Walton Sweet Talk Paper Pad, ribbon-Wal-Mart, heart trim-Wal Mart, heart crystal sticker.,(no pop dots this time).
