I left this morning to make a quick run to Staples for post it notes and pencils because what a great little gift this will make and quick if you've got the supplies :-) I found myself in the car all day long with various errands that continued to crop up. White Snow Flowers

To the girls at Pile It On! I have to say I'm taking a little bit of poetic license here and I'm calling these snow flowers because snow flakes are pretty enough to be icy flowers. Their challenge this week is Flowers and Flourishes. I stamped the focal snow flower on glossy card stock with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder, edged the rectangles and square with white embossing powder and stamped and embossed the flourishes at the bottom with white embossing powder.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 7" Oriental Trading, Paper: Glossy card stock, white textured card stock, Stamps: CTMH: D1212 Playful Flourishes, Inkadinkado 97734 Warm Holiday Wishes, The Paper Studio Snowflakes, Ink: VersaMark Ink Pad, Stampendous White embossing powder, CTMH: silver embossing powder, Cuttlebug embossing folder: Snowflakes, Stampin Up: Sizzix-Flourish texture plate, Pearl dot sticker, Stickles: Frosted Lace, ribbon: ribbonFX Hobby Lobby, pop dots.

2010 Easel Calendar

Hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving had a wonderful time with family and friends. I'm a little off track on some of the challenges I wanted to enter and probably will be off track through this next week at least, because Dec. 4th I will be 60 years young and the word is my husband and sons are planning some kind of bash for me(I'm supposed to be surprised:) So I'll have to put fun before challenges and get back into the swing of things after the coming holidays, posting will be sporadic. I was hoping to break 200 postings before the end of the year so I could offer my first blog candy, who knows I may still sneak it in.
A little ahead of schedule a happy easel calendar to start the New Year! This one has already been gifted to my Sis for her desk at work. She's like a lot of us other gals, she fell in love with the easel cards I have been making.
3 Challenges:

Bug Box

I've haven't figured out how to put pictures side by side, sometimes it kind of bugs me for them to be one on top of the other, but I'm still amazed that I've learned to set up and maintain this blog as much as I have. As we're nearing the end of another year I seem to be already reflecting, and as I clicked on new post I saw that I'm only 23 posts away from 200. I'm going to have to figure out something special for that.
On to my project: Project Tuesday-Peek-a-Boo Box http://sasprojecttuesday.blogspot.com
This stamp I used is supposed to wrap around a little match box, but I adapted it to fit this little peek a boo box. I had to cut part of it up and cut out some of the bugs, but I think it turned out pretty cute. Years ago my Mom had a little toy bug that when you held it in your hand the legs wiggled, it would be perfect in this box, but I couldn't find it, so for now my box is empty.

Supplies: Papers: K & Co. Designer Paper: Hopscotch, Stamps: Limited Edition Rubberstamps: Matchbox Marvels, Posh Impressions: Buzzy Bee, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink: Jet Black, CTMH markers: baby pink, lilac mist, vanilla cream, watermelon, black, brown bag, orange, cranberry, juniper, sunny yellow, blush, citrus leaf, Stampin Up: blender pen, Inkssentials: white pen, Grafix: Computer-Printable Transparent Plastic Sheets, ribbon: Offray, tiny heart bubble.

Thank You Forest

A great start to the week, I can feel my creative mojo flowing already. Two surprises--I was picked at Humble Pie Stamps as the challenge winner for week of 11-15, so exciting, thank you ladies for the honor. The second surprise is Arielle at ColourQ has picked Jessica http://jessica-papertherapy.blogspot.com and myself to be guest designers after Thanksgiving, I'm not going to give away the date, you'll have to come back for the big reveal. Ooh, a little nervous, hope I can create something fabulous!
This is that fun Magic Snowflake technique again, I'm really having a big time with that. I think it makes such a striking piece.

Magic Heart Postcard

There won't be much chit chat on this post. I'm squeezing in at the last minute over at Card Patterns for a possible chance at guest designer, and I'm at the last minute at Our Creative Corner also. I've had these papers for a long time so when I saw the post card challenge an idea was born. Then I was looking at the Weekly Inkling #184 from Splitcoast Stampers for the magic snowflake tutorial and bingo this card came together.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5 1/2" X 6" Halcraft, Papers: White Glossy card stock and the rest from my stash before I started keeping track of where and who, Stamps: Michael Strong: Cloisonne Heart, Ink: Stampin Up: Whisper White, CTMH: Z2108 Brown Bag, CTMH Re-Inkers: Z2208 Brown Bag, Z2211 Chocolate, Stampendous White embossing powder, ribbon: Offray, pop dots.

Sweet Treat Holiday

These easel cards are really fun. I finally came up with a clever idea to use my new stamps and sweet treat cups from Stampin Up
Oh, by the way, when you use the Brilliance ink be sure to heat it with your heat gun to dry it or it will smear, it kind of does a little mini embossing all on its own when heated.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: 4" X 4" Easel card, Papers: Best Occasions textured card stock, DCWV The Christmas Stack from last year, Stampin Up: Whisper White, Wausau Metallic silver card stock, Stamps: Stampin Up: Sweet Centers, Inkadinkado 97734 Warm Holiday Wishes, CTMH: D1283 Say It in Style, Ink: Brilliance: Platinum Planet, VersaMark Ink pad, Stampin Up: Not Quite Navy, CTMH: silver embossing powder, Stampin Up: 1 3/4" cirle punch, Stampin Up: Sweet Treat Cups, glittered a white snowflake brad, The Paper Studio Spare Parts: tiny heart brads, pop dots.

Red Balloon BD

Here's a bold birthday card for you. I've been wanting to use this set of stamps for a while, I found them on the clearance wall at Hobby Lobby. The challenge at gingham girls adventures
is her Word of the Week #13-limbus: a border distinguished by color or structure. I counting these 2 diagonal strips as structure, and as you can see it kind of looks like I'm on a Prima flower kick. As I sit here posting this and looking at the card it struck me it looks kind of naked and it hit me I didn't use any ribbon or fibers on it. I guess you don't need a bow every time.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Chocolate Chip 6" X 6" card, Papers: from my stash, Stamps: My Sentiments Exactly! TT239 Word Blocks, Inkadinkado-99538 Birthday Sentiments, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, CTMH marker: black, Prima Flowers, The Paper Studio Spare Parts: button brads, glue dots, pop dots.

Feel Better Soon

A quick edit to this post: I have an oops to report--Pink Persimmon is not a challenge blog, it's a blog for their clear polymer stamps, so continue to go visit their blog and shop around, their stamps are neat, in my zeal for challenges I misunderstood. And THANKS for all your nice comments!
The best laid plans of mice and men, a partial quote. Finally made it into my card room. Will probably be another late night.
I found another challenge blog. Pink Persimmon , it's a Monday challenge, I added it to my side bar, hop over and check them out, it's another one that let's you use any product you have on hand, for those of us that are supply junkies.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 7" Oriental Trading Co., Paper: all from my stash, Stamps: Inkadinkado-97635 Round Frames, Stampendous-Hey There Cupcake, Ink: CTMH: Z2127 Holiday Red, Z2112 Citrus Leaf, Cuttlebug embossing folder-tiny flowers, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Classic Scallop Circle Lg., EK Success: scalloped scallop border punch, Stampin Up: 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" circle punches, ribbon: Wal-Mart, Stampendous Class A Peel Stickers, pop dots.

An Honor

Just a quick post before I get started making some cards. I was very honored today to be chosen as a Wild Card Guest Designer at Colour Q . If you haven't found Arielle's challenge blog yet use me as a spring board to jump over and check her out. She always comes up with some very neat inspiration pictures to go with the colors she chooses for the week.
I love to win, so today you'll hear me clapping myself---and thanks again Arielle!

Triple Flower BD

Most of you are already in bed and resting peacefully. I'm still running on yesterdays juices, but my days are flipped from yours, my husband works deep nights, so I'm up late getting him off to work and that's why I'm still up while you're sleeping. I kind of nap my way through life. It works for us.
The reason I was saying all that is because I was going to say this was a Prima Flower kind of day when I looked at the clock and realized it is Wednesday. So, when I finish posting this card I'm headed off to bed for a nap:)
I have to say this is kind of an unusual color combo, and by the way the middle Prima Flowers are really orange not yellow, but after I got it all together it kind of grew on me. This set of stamps is one of the first sets I got when I started stamping and in all honesty I think this is the first time I have used it, but now that I have I can see where it will be pretty versatile.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 6 1/2" X 5" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up Patterns Pack III, all others from my stash, Stamps: Clearly Wordsworth-V009 Everyday Greetings, Inks: Stampin Up-Soft Suede, VersaMark ink pad, Stampin Up clear embossing powder, Markers: Marvy LePlume II-cherry, CTMH-tulip, autumn terracotta, blush, sunflower, Prima Flowers, tiny heart brads: The Paper Studio, ribbon: Shear Creations Michael's, glue dots.

Black & Tan Cupcake

Love these colors together, and I always try to get at least one heart on every project, every once in a while I can't sneak one on. I at least like them to make some sense, and as always have some fun.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Black Card Blank 6" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: The Paper Studio, red and 2 tans from my stash, Stamps: My Sentiments Exactly-Y590 Cupcake B-day, Ink: CTMH-Z2116 Cranberry, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Standard Circles Lg., eye lash yarn-Dollar Store.

Scrapling

You might recognize these papers from the previous post, and that is the nature of one of these challenges. Daring Card Makers challenged us to make a Scrapling. A tiny card 2 1/2" X 4 1/4" packed with punch, you know that old saying, "Good things come in small packages". This turned out to be a pretty little thing.
I'm very tempted to enter again at Colour Q just so more people could see how pretty these colors are together and not just for thanksgiving, but I don't want to be greedy.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 2 1/2" X 4 1/4", Papers: Scraps from my stash, Stamps: CTMH C1286 Goodness of Life, My Favorite Things-You Take the Cake, Ink: Stampin Up: Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, EK Success corner rounder, Pearl stickers, Oriental Trading Co.-Flower Shapes and Epoxy brad, Prima Flowers, ribbon-Holiday Michael's, glue dots.

Turkey Time!

I've said in the past that I don't do vintage very well, and not to many flowers, but as usual I surprised myself, and as usual I couldn't find any vintage challenges. This really turned out pleasing to my eye.
I have to say to Arielle at Colour Q
thanks for the great color challenges. I have run out of soft suede paper and haven't placed my next Stampin Up order yet. I have this huge pad of My Mind's Eye designer paper that I have used a little bit, but have wanted to put to better use. When I started looking for the papers that I could substitute for pumpkin pie, kiwi kiss, taken with teal, soft suede, + neutral these papers jumped out at me as muted versions of these colors and they went so well with the image I had already chosen from Print Master 11 for the challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge . My sketch is from Humble Pie Stamps
and I hope Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches will let me squeak by with counting my image as a decorative paper since I printed it(kind of like a digital image, maybe). My floral background photographed as looking kind of pinkish, but in real life it's a muted soft suede. My photo box has made a big difference in my photos, but alas, the operator of camera is still photo challenged:)
I love sponging around the edges of papers, it really softens and enhances everything, and I do love my copper embossing powder.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 6" X 6" square, Papers: CTMH: green, My Mind's Eye designer pad #MMEBK 1, Stamps: CTMH: D1212 Playful Flourishes, Ink: VersaMark ink pad, Stampin Up: Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Judikins copper embossing powder, Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels One, Prima Flowers, tiny copper heart brads, ribbon: Offray, image from Print Master 11, glue dots.

Circle Silver Snowman

I have broken the 3/5 barrier and jumped to 7 :)
This card came together late this afternoon. I began by mulling over the acetate challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges
then the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches these were my base and began to build from there. I just love that chunky art glitter that I got at Gotta Scrap and now with Christmas coming on I will really be able to use the Gala Glitz-White a lot. One reason I used the chunky glitter is because it goes with the Word of the Week Challenge--which is: furfuraceous: consisting of or covered with flaky particles. I never could wrap my mind around last weeks word, but I think I hit this one pretty good. There's a bird on the snowman's right hand and there is holly on his hat, as you read my challenge list you'll know what that pertains to.
With no further ado--7 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Stock from my stash, Stamps: See Dee's-#50316 Traditional Christmas, #50315 Fun Christmas, Inkadinkado-97734 Warm Holiday Wishes, Ink: VersaMark ink pad, CTMH-silver embossing powder, Art Glitter-Gala Glitz-White, Fiskars Super Size Circle templates, Grafix printable transparent sheet, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, tiny silver brad, Stampin Up-1" circle punch, Sharpie Poster Paint pen-Silver, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Snowflakes, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Standard Circles Lg.

Oh Happy Day

I've hit 5 Challenges again, I broke the 3 now it's about time to break through 5. Under my card is a piece of paper that I created for the challenge at Saturday Spotlight
we were to create what is called a Master Board, your very own background paper so that it matches your colors and use it on a card. I stamped the suns with VersaMark ink and the hearts with Whispers ink-Butterscotch. I got a butterfly on there for Flutter By Wednesday and the rest are pretty self explanatory in the list below:
Supplies: Orange Card Blank 5 !/4" X 7 1/4" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up: Whisper White, all others from my stash, Stamps: Stampology Autumn Leaves: Wellies and Brellas, CTMH: B1054 What a Great Day, Inkadinkado: Round Frames, Special Thoughts, Ink: CTMH: Z2155 Topiary, Whispers: Butterscotch, VersaMark Ink pad, Sharpie yellow marker, Stampin Up: ticket punch, The Robin's Nest: dew drops, ribbon: Offray, Karen Foster: big time brads, pop dots.

Thank You Tag Pocket

This day has really gotten away from me, lets not count the ways. This card was going to be for 6 challenges, but when I looked at my list I always seem to forget that Danni over at Flutter By Wednesdays wants butterflies, fairies, or angels on Wednesdays, and why I forget when it's called Flutter By Wednesday, haven't figured out yet.
So, on to 5 Challenges:
Supplies: Pocket Card from instructions on SAS Project Tuesday, Papers: Stampin Up, Manilla Tag: Staples, My Mind's Eye: MMEBK1, Stamps: Stampin Up: True Friend, Ink: CTMH: Z2160 Twilight, Vibrance: Blue, Ranger Distress Ink: tea dye, VersaMark Ind pad, Judikins: Metallic Copper embossing powder, Elmer's copper leafing pen, EK Success: corner rounder punch, 1" circle punch, scalloped scallop border punch, American Crafts: ribbon, tiny heart brads, Scor Pal Tape, hole punch.

Another Win

I'm off track for making cards today because we have a family dinner tonight. However, I came to check on all my comments before getting ready and to my surprise and wonderful amazement I won first place at Color Dare. I've been lurking and following Riley's blog for quite some time, she and her team are very talented and she has a great blog, so if you're visiting here and read this be sure to hop over and check her out.
As usual when I find I've won something I just have to clap myself. It's an artistic ego thing. :)
I do appreciate all the wonderful comments and encouragement I get from all who visit here for my creations.

Yummy Bee BD

I think I have made one other circle card, but didn't look back to check, but I know this one was fun to pull supplies and get it to come together. One of the challenges is for http://cinspirations.blogspot.com Challenge 35-New or Neglected! We're to tell which of these we have used on our card or project. I make a lot of birthday cards for family and friends so I'm always picking up birthday related stamps here and there, so these are stamp sets that I picked up back in early summer. It's hard to believe that on this one little card I have used one part or another of 5 sets of stamps: 2 from Studio G their little $1 stamps, 2 from Stampendous, and 1 from Hero Arts.
Hope this card makes you smile like it did me when I finished it.
5 Challenges:

Supplies: Circle card cut from a black 5" X 6 1/2" card-Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Stamps: Studio G: VS4911 Series 7, VC0004 Series 27, Stampendous: Hap Bee Day, Hey There Cupcake, Hero Arts: CL222 Birthday Expressions, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink: jet black, CTMH: Z2109 Bubblegum, CTMH markers: sunny yellow, heavenly blue, white daisy, black, outdoor denim, bubblegum, Sakura Gelly Roll pen: Clear Star, Ranger Stickles: Frosted Lace, Fiskars Super Size Circle templates, tiny gold dot stickers, fibers: EK Success Adornaments, pop dots.

Easel Greetings

O.K., this was a fun one! Between general living and fiddling and piddling with this card I now look up and it's time to cook dinner, but I do love how this card turned out. There are a couple of these challenges that called for easel cards and they said on their blog that they're seeing them turning up all over. I browsed around and there are some really cute takes on the card fold. It kind of sounded complicated at first, but as my good friend says, "I'm getting pretty good at reading the distructions."
I have to insert a little blurb to the girls at Crafty Cardmakers because their challenge is to Stamp Something with option of stamping a technique you haven't used in a while, but I hope they don't kick me out because I just love stamping and heat embossing. I think it really makes your image pop and lends that bit of touch that sometimes just kicks it up a notch. Even though I do this technique a lot maybe they'll let me slide by, no begging intended, LOL.
So---my list of 4 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank is made with instruction from Crazy 4 Challenges, Papers: Magic of the Season paper pack-Hobby Lobby, Stamp: Christmas 2009 Peace & Joy-Hobby Lobby, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink: Jet Black, VersaMark Ink pad, Stampin Up: Clear embossing powder, ribbon: Michael's, various crystal stickers, saying on inside generated in PrintMaster 11, pop dots.

This card ended up fitting 5 Challenges:

Angel Wings

Even though this card will be entered in 3 challenges I made it especially for the special card drive going on at Stamp Something to send cards of encouragement and love to a little girl named Jaimie. It's such a shame that innocent people have to be subjected to such mean, evilness in the world. I would encourage you to go over to Stamp Something and read Jaimie's story. I won't try to repeat it here so that I won't get any of the details wrong. I hope that every one who reads her story will pray for her and her family and we also need to pray for the mean, evil people in this world also, that someone, somewhere would be able to touch their minds and hearts and open their eyes so they might change for the better of themselves and other people they touch.
A quick note--the saying on the inside is something I think I came up with, but just in case, I read it somewhere and can't remember the author, credit would be given to them, I generated it in Printmaster 11 then stamped the heart and wings and sponged around the edges.

As I said this is for 3 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank 10 1/2" X 7 1/2" folded in half with Stampin Up Softe Suede card stock, Papers: Stampin Up: Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla, Best Occasions Pearlescent Paper Pack, Provo Craft: Illuminations, Stamps: Hot Off The Press: Flights of Fancy, Inkadinkado:99506 O Holy Night, Inks: Ranger Archival Ink: Sepia, jet black, Brilliance: Galaxy Gold, PrismaColor pencils, Gamsol, blending stump, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen: Clear Star, Cuttlebug embossing folder: D'Vine Swirls, Jesse James Beads: Scrolled Hearts, pearl sticker dots, eyelash yarn: Michael's, pop dots.

Felt Merry Christmas

If you're looking for stamping on this card you have to go to the inside. When I saw the challenge for using felt on your card at Dutch Dare I dug in my stash and found the tree and merry christmas brads that I had gotten at Hobby Lobby when they first started putting out Christmas stuff. At Diva Coffee Break Designs they are calling for creamy caramel, ruby red, always artichoke, and bravo burgandy. I've started collecting Stampin Up products now that my friend Linda is a demonstrator, so I had the bravo burgandy and always artichoke, I had to fudge on the creamy caramel with some pearlescent paper from Wal-Mart and the ruby red is the ribbon and dots on the background paper from last years christmas paper stash. I can't seem to resist the Stampin Up ticket punch lately. Kind of a snappy little Christmas card.

3 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 6 1/2" X 5" Halcraft, Papers: background from stash, Stampin Up: bravo burgandy, always artichoke, Wal-Mart Best Occasions: pearlescent paper pack, Ink: CTMH Z2137 Olive, Stamps: See-Dee's#50319 Christmas Messages, #50315 Fun Christmas, Spellbinders Nestabilities: Classic Scallop Oval Lg., Stampin Up: Ticket Punch, The Paper Studio: Merry Christmas brads, ribbon, Hobby Lobby Make It Christmas: Felt Tree, gold rhinestone stickers, glue dots, pop dots.

Great Dreams

Today was a day for running errands, but I was determined to get one card made also. I think it turned out to be a beauty. I've watched Tim Holtz with his tools and inks and non-stick craft sheet ink up lots of tags and then I've lurked on Michelle Zindorf's blog soaking up her brayer and inking techniques. She also uses some yellow sponges that you can get at the dollar store and cut up, they're great, I don't get any hard lines if I start inking off the sheet. They have lots of admirers and I'm one. Practice, practice practice, loving those inky fingers!
This was a wonderful sketch very challenging. I didn't think I could make these colors work, but as I laid everything out I do believe it's very pleasing.

Best Buds

Well, I've kicked it up a notch from 3 to 4 challenges. I'm on a roll today because I like this card also, so much fun when what you're creating comes out pleasing to the eye. At Stamptacular Sunday Challenges the challenge is Friendship and we are to create our background paper with a favorite technique, so I got out my baby wipes, dye re-inkers, and very vanilla card stock, squeezed the re-inkers onto the baby wipes in the order you like, then swipe them across your card stock in swirls, spots, up and down or across, whatever makes you happy. Most times you do this technique on glossy card stock and it drys pretty quick, but all I had was white and so I thought why not experiment on the very vanilla card stock, so when I got through swiping I had to heat it with my heat gun to dry it out. That's the paper behind Best Buds, the butterflys, and the scallop background. The rest of the challenges are pretty self explanatory and I always put the links to the web sites so any one who visits here can hop over and see all the talented ladies and there are some gentlemen out there too who make cards, altered art, and scrapbook.
