Holiday Creations

The last couple of weeks have been fast and furious and lots of fun. Lots of cooking, company, celebrating December birthdays, we even had a new baby born into the family, so another December birthday.
I want to take this time to thank all my loyal followers and cyber friends for the wonderful 2010 year. I feel like I've met all of you in person from all the nice comments you leave me and I hope I have reciprocated in kind, I do try. I'm looking forward to 2011 and I hope you are also. So, Happy New Year!
My lovely model to the left is my Mom.(Looking pretty good for 86) She finally consented to let me take her picture, so I got her to model the poncho I made for my friend that lives in New York state.
Then there's me with my funky hat I just thought I had to make to sport the heart pin my sister gave me. May have to look at some more hat patterns, not quite sure about this one.

Then the 2 last pictures are of the project I came up with for family, friends, and hubby's office. I found it on a very talented gals You Tube, but her site is http://stampwithtami.com. You will find all kinds
of neat projects at her place.
This was a good quick project and made a nice gift for family and friends with the gift cards attached to the back and for the office folks no gift card but just a nice happy holiday we're thinking of you gift.
I used up lots of left over Christmas papers from my stash, the Tags til Christmas stamp set from Stampin Up, my Spellbinders Scallop Squares, and the instructions you will find on Tami's site.
Hope you've all had a Happy Holiday Season and wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Baby, It's Cold

I have 3 Challenges for this card:
First, Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog--DPDC3-Use any Doodle Pantry image--I have used Sledding Ants--Colored them with Copic markers and I see now that I have photographed this and am posting it, I got my front hill going on the downward slope, but my back hill kind of has a cliff, oops. Poor ants, maybe they will roll into a giant snowball. We'll hope for the best.

Second, Digital Tuesday Challenge--Challenge #88-Baby It's Cold Outside + Digi--Got my digi going, embossed the background with the Cuttlebug embossing snowflake folder, die cut snowflakes out of white glitter paper, and tore my snow hills out of vellum. It's looking kind of chilly.

Third, Gingersnap Creations--GC82: Spicy Supply Challenge--Glitter--I got out my Amy's Glittering glue and my Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds glitter and started glittering. I have some icicles across the top, then some sparkling snowy glitter on the leaf,  and snow hills. Flower soft for the little fuzzy bits, some shiny stars to hold the sentiment in place, when the whole thing was put together, I hit it with a couple of sprays of  Vanilla Smooch, and Wah Lah --I think for the sentiment inside I will put, So let's cuddle up inside for a Happy Birthday Celebration!
We've got a lot of December birthdays in our family, so somebody will get an envelope full of glitter

Stylish Birthday

I'm going to be trying out a few new things in the coming weeks. I've joined some groups: Gingersnap Creations Group, Technique Junkies Group, Crafters Digital Art Center, and a group on Paper Craft Planet. Just trying out some new things for me, but will get back to some of my regular challenges after the first of the year. There are quite a few of them who are taking some time off for the holidays to spend time with friends and family and to recharge their creative batteries. Something we all need to do from time to time.
A little clapping before I move on to this card. I received an Honorable Mention over at The Shabby Tearoom for my Santa Heart card. Debbie and her team are a very talented group, and I appreciate the recognition they have given me since I have been entering their challenges.
This card is for the GC80: Color Challenge-Vintage Hues
at Gingersnap Creations. They've been focusing on Fashion and Stitching this month. This card will be doing double duty. My youngest son was a model and extra in some movies when he was in his middle  teens and his birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks. As I photographed this card it reminded me of him because he is a very stylish fellow.

Santa Heart

With some pretty papers, a heart template, a vintatage Merry Christmas stamp, some lace, and a pearl pin with a sparkly bow you can make a very pretty Christmas card.
I like to take 12 X 12 papers and cut them up in pieces that fit my cards. Of course, for purist stampers there is a minimal amount of stamping this way, but for people who are new to card making or scrapbooking this is a way to get an impressive piece with out any coloring.
The Craft Barn is sponsoring the Tuesday Taggers this week, so you could hop over there for a little bit of Jolly Christmas Shopping.
2 Challenges:

Supplies: Drew the heart myself, Papers: K&Co Let It Snow! Specialty Paper Pad, Stamp: Stampin Up-Bells & Boughs, Ink: Ranger Distress Ink-tea dye, VersaMark Ink Pad, Stampin Up-Early Expresso, Stampin Up clear embossing powder, Stampin Up-Pretties Kit, lace and ribbon-Offray, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-gold.

Ornament In A Box

It felt really good to get back into my studio today. This is the last challenge for Bah! Humbug! this year. They will be doing the draws for the prizes and then we'll take a little break and start fresh in January 2011.
When I saw the challenge at Project Tuesday, I thought, Wow, this would give the Bah! Humbuggers! a great send off for the year. Hope they like it.
Katie from My Paper Haven provided great instructions, in her Nov 6,2008 blog post.  My project is very similar to hers, but I had these great papers from K&Co. So, if Katie comes to visit--Thanks Katie for sharing your talents with all of us, hope you feel this was a compliment.

Lovely In Lilac

This is my last hurrah until after Thanksgiving.
The challenge at Bah! Humbug! this week is Lovely In Lilac and I have taken lilac to the max. I really like lilacs and purples so maybe that is why it was easy for me to create this card.
The background paper and the poinsettia petals are from the same piece of paper that I created using the leftover ink on my craft sheet when I dyed the hem tape I used a few days ago. Started life as a plain piece of white card stock. I spritzed it with the glimmer mist I made before punching and embossing and debossing the background. I rubbed some silver metallic rub-on paste on the background paper and tipped the Elegant Eggplant leaves on the poinsettia. The silver and purple micro beads in the center really set this off. I hope you can see the silver embossed greeting in the top right .
I have to give credit where credit is due on this beautiful poinsettia. Carla at Carla Scraps-11-18-09 post gives a great tutorial on how to create this beauty. Carla is very talented and has some other great tutorials on a myriad  of other projects.  She uses red of course, and I think she made a white one also. Poinsettias come in all colors these days so  if you get a Martha Stewart 1" rose leaf punch, a small 5 petal flower punch, and a 1" circle punch you'll be able to have yourself quite a poinsettia farm.
I'll close for now. Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I know customs are different all over the world, but whatever ethnicity or religion we are it's always a good time to be thankful for family, friends, and the good things we have in our lives. The bad things, well, I've been told what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. That may seem a  little harsh, but, I also try to hang onto the premise that all things only last for a season. Keep steppin', yall!!
1 Challenge:
Supplies: 4" X 5 1/2" Pale Plum card blank, Papers: Stampin Up-Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, white card stock unknown, Stamp: Stampin Up-Firside Christmas, Ink: Stampin Up-Elegant Eggplant re-inker, Brilliance-Platinum Planet, CTMH silver embossing powder, Craf-T Products-silver metallic rub-on, Martha Stewart-1" rose leaf punch, Stampin Up-1" circle punch, Stampin Up-Textured Impression Elegant Lines embossing folder, The Paper Studio-5 petal flower punch, ribbon-Michael's, silver and purple micro beads unknown, Amy's Glittering Glue, glue dots.

Butterfly Blessing

I recently renewed my subscription to Technique Junkies and got the Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts CD also. I have grown in my abilities as a paper craft artist so I think I might be worthy to be a Technique Junkie. I have joined the Yahoo group and will be trying to figure out how to post this card on there also. My computer skills are growing too, so I will probably be able to figure it out.
In the coming weeks the cards I will be posting will be for 1,2, or 3 challenges. Quite a few of the challenge blogs are changing their rules. I guess there was to much piling it on. Oh well, I will get more cards made, just not as many comments per card. A little whine from a comment hog.
Onto the main reason for this post. A Z Fold Card. I wouldn't have chosen these colors together, but that's one reason we do challenges--to challenge ourselves--and after this was completed I think it's kind of pretty.
The sentiment and the main butterfly inside are from a package of stamps I won from Artful Inkables a few months ago. I thanked them then, but another Thank You is in order. They have branched out into digis also, so if you are not familiar with Artful Inkables hop on over and browse around, you might find something you would like to add to your stash.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Z Fold card blank, Papers: Stampin Up-Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Stamps: Artful Inkables, Inkadinkado, Ink: Stampin Up-Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, VersaMark Ink Pad, Cuttlebug Fancy Corner die, Stampin Up-Scallop Trim border punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scallop Circles Lg., Stampin Up-1 3/4" circle punch, ribbon-Offray, Scor-Tape.

Thankfulness

Wow, my ribbon actually photographed the color it really is in person. Amazing, it usually comes out looking blue. Seam binding bows are really in, but before I ordered any, I got to thinking, how about some plain old hem tape(not the iron on kind). Soo, I got out the Elegant Eggplant re-inker, put some drops on my non-stick craft sheet(how do we live without those?), spritzed with water, and squished the hem tape all around until it was saturated, scrunched it up and was going to let it dry by itself. However, impatience took hold, because it's kind of slippery and shiny, I took a wooden clothes pin to hold it scrunched and took the heat gun to it. I have to be honest, it smoked a little bit, but didn't melt. I'm very pleased with the result, I like the little bit of shininess.
These are the beautiful Autumn Spice papers and Day of Gratitude stamp set from Stampin Up. Very fun to work with.
1 Challenge:
Supplies: Cream Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Specialty Designer Series Paper Autumn Spice, Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant, Stamp: Stampin Up-Day of Gratitude, Ink: Stampin Up-Rich Razzleberry, Elegant Eggplant re-inker,  Stampin Up-1 3/4" circle punch, The Paper Studio Spare Parts-leaf brad, lace-Offray, hem tape, sew machine, metallic gold sewing thread, Tim Holtz Distress Tool, Stampin Up dimensionals.

Rudolf & Santa

Recently I signed up for the Stamp of the Month Club at The Pixie Cottage. One of the artists over there is Artish, and this month the stamp of the month happens to be: Dashing Through the Sky. There are  several artists at The Pixie Cottage that I am one of their fans. If you haven't checked into to this club,  hop over and read all about the particulars, very easy and very reasonable. A great way to build your stamp stash. There is also a great tutorial from 11-13-10, with great pictures and instructions on how to create the cute pop-up Christmas Tree which just happened to be the perfect addition to my card today. A friend of mine gave me some of this embossed paper and I thought it looked like snowflakes. A little sponging, some gold stickles, a star sticker, and a little piece of brown doodled paper for the trunk, some stamps presents and Wah Lah! a very cute Christmas Card.
Before I close today I just have to do a little bit of clapping. I have won an honorable mention at The Shabby Tearoom for my Victoria Dress Form and this morning I found out that I won first place at Gingersnap Creations for the Gothic Arches I created right around Halloween. These are both such and honor because that was the first time I had entered at Gingersnap Creations and only the second time at The Shabby Tearoom. Just a big shout out to both challenge blogs, Thanks to all the very talented artists at both sites, what a confidence booster to be acknowledged at those two sites.

Haute Couture

I've recently found Gingersnap Creations and The Shabby Tearoom challenge blogs.  A couple of my on line friends have inspired me to stretch my wings and add to my style repertoire. These 2 sites are populated by a lot of very talented people, so I'm finding even more inspiration.
I'm very excited about this project. It is very different for me. A few details: I broke out my foam brush, Mod Podge, and paper mache dress form. I mixed up some homemade glimmer mist(Iridescent Medium, dye reinker, and water), sprayed a white paper towel, let it dry while I was tearing up papers and and mod podging them to the dress form. Some of the blank spaces that were left I filled in with pieces of the paper towel. It turned out looking kind of like net. After the paper towel was very dry, I punched out 3 lg. flowers and 3 small flowers, peeled the paper towel apart, did some inking on the bottom part of the petals, glued the flat pearl to the small petals with Tombow glue, scrunched and attached the lg. petals and scrunched some more. Then, I stamped some words around and a small flower, attached the lace, pearls, sm. hanger brad, pins and scissors. That's pretty much the highlights. I was sticky, inky, and had stuff strewn all over the place, but this was a fun endeavor.
The longer I've looked at her this afternoon, I've decided she's pretty enough to have a name--Victoria.

Scallop Gate Fold

This card was inspired by the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge--Design Team Inspiration! They have a great bunch of talented girls at their challenge blog. Annette from Studio A Paper Creations really inspired me with her card. She used a Spellbinders Nestability to make the wreath on the front of her card and a Meljen's digi, a very spring like card. My mind immediately went to a Christmas card using these new papers from Stampin Up and this new stamp set Bells & Boughs. However, I do not have the die she used, so after mulling over several ideas, short of ordering the die, this is what I came up with.
A scallop Spellbinder Nestability die that I cut the center out of , a 1/16" hole punch, and a length of ribbon, I carefully threaded the ribbon around the inside of the circle, knotted it at the bottom and tied a bow to go on top of that, hence 4 tails. It looked a little plain to me, so I added the gold metallic dots, which when I stamped and embossed the bells with coffee ink and clear embossing powder, colored with Copic Markers, I added the tiny gold metallic dots and that just set the whole thing off for me. I loved the way Annette attached the long triangles to the inside flaps, so I copied that. This is a 5 1/4" square gate fold card, the left side of the wreath is permanently attached and I put a small amount of dotto non-permanent adhesive to the right side to hold it temporarily closed.
Hope you like this one as much as I do.
6 Challenges:
Supplies: 5 1/4" square gate fold card, Papers: Stampin Up-Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Designer Series Paper Deck The Halls, Stamp: Stampin Up-Bells & Boughs, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Coffee, VersaMark Ink Pad, Stampin Up-Cherry Cobbler, Stampin Up clear embossing powder, Copic Markers, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-gold, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-gold, 1/16" hole punch, Fiskars shape cutter template-Circles-1, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Classic Scallop Circle Lg., ribbon-Michael's, Recollections-gold metallic dot stickers, Scor-Tape, dotto.

The Ants Are Stirring

Laurie Wilson,  from the Doodle Pantry has been creating some really neat digi stamps for awhile now(don't want to get the time line wrong), and now she has started the Doodle Pantry Blog with 2 challenges a month. Lots of neat prizes and freebies. When I lost all my digis, Laurie was one of the first vendors to offer me so much help. If you don't have any Doddle Pantry digis I recommend that you check out Laurie's new blog. You will be able to catch all her new releases on this new blog also.
I paper pieced the ornament and that particular piece of paper already had red dots on it, but in my zeal for extra cuteness I went around the outside edge with the Ruby Slippers stickles. If you've used stickles you already know they require a steady hand, mine wasn't so much today. Sorry for the messyness Laurie. And, you all know I'm not the do over girl because I had already printed, colored, and sponged the pink softy around the edges--I was going in the right direction. I promise I'll do better on the next challenge which is on November 26th, I believe. Don't trust me though, hop over and check out the blog for the whole low down.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Whisper White, Marina Mist, Always Artichoke, Specialty Designer Series Paper Candy Cane Christmas, Stamps: Doodle Pantry-Holiday Ants digi, Ink: Stampin Up-Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Copic Markers, Suze Weinberg's Pure Glitz-Ruby Slippers, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Labels Ten, Stampin Up-glimmer brads, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-gold and silver, Stampin Up dimensionals.

Let It Snow Shaker

I carved a little time in my studio today, YAY!
I saw an idea for this card in the Stampin Up catalog. Same stamp set, different colors, and I got my snowman's head to high over his body, but maybe when he jumped for joy that it was going to snow his head hasn't settled back down. I'm really loving this new color Marina Mist that Stampin Up came out with.
I should have pulled out my treat cups for Halloween, but Christmas is a good time for treats also.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Brushed Silver Card Stock, Marina Mist, Specialty Designer Series Paper Candy Cane Christmas, Stamp: Stampin Up-Big On Christmas, Ink: Stampin Up-Whisper White craft, Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist marker, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-White, Stampin Up-treat cup, Barbara Trombley's art glitter-White, beads unknown, Fiskars shape cutter template-Circles-1, Stampin Up-1 3/4" circle punch, ribbon-Michael's Celebrate It!, Stampin Up dimensionals.

Tiny Takeout Box

This is a tiny project, but just as cute as can be. It's a good thing it was tiny because that's how my time has been lately. Just to let you all know if I seem hit and miss for the next few weeks--I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year and looks like we've got quite a few takers so far. That means a house full --Happy Holidays! I also have a stack of cards that I'm trying to get ready to go off to be considered for publication again. I've had such a fabulous year in that department I'm hoping I get published  again in 2011. Thanks to all my supporters and encouragers.
I need to do a little clapping this evening also. I won a Top 5 at Get Sketchy this last week and I won a first place at Blackleaf Studios and low and behold that was 2 weeks in a row, I've never had that happen before--Thank You Ashley. You'll be seeing a card soon with the digis I won. If you haven't given these two challenges a try hop on over and give it a go, well worth the fun.
1 Challenge:
Supplies: Papers: Stampin Up-Marina Mist, Whisper White, Brushed silver card stock, Stamps: Stampin Up-Tags til Christmas, Recollections-Christmas Borders, Ink: Stampin Up-Not Quite Navy, Brilliance-Platinum Planet, Martha Stewart-Snowflake corner punch, Stampin Up-1 3/4" circle punch, silver jewelry cord unknown, ribbon-Michael's Celebrate It!, Crop-A-Dile, glue dots.

Tower of Presents

This card started life as a white 5" X 6 1/2" blank. With some Stampin Up Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series paper and some ribbons from my ribbon stash, the Stampin Up Tags til Christmas stamp set and the Lg. Tag punch this turned out to be a very cute Tower of Presents.
Tag, you say, where's the tag? That's why it took 3 photos, so you could find the tag.
After I had my 3 presents attached to the front of the card, I cut off the excess around the presents very carefully. I only attached the top present on the bottom and two sides to leave room for the bow tag, it tucks nicely between the card blank and the present so it doesn't show on the inside.

10 Challenges:

Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up Designer Series Paper Candy Cane Christmas, Real Red, Marina Mist,  Stamps: Stampin Up-Tags til Christmas, Ink: Stampin Up-Riding Hood Red, Stampin Up Lg. Tag Punch, ribbons unknown, Scor-Tape.

Gratitude

I've got several things going on with this card today. My friend Linda, The Funkie Junkie, uses this seam binding that she dyes herself to match what she's got going on. She was very generous to send me a beautiful card and a couple of samples so I could see in person and she tells on her blog how she dyes this and how she ties her bows. She's such a lovely talented and generous lady. Hop over to her place, you can learn a few tricks from her. She's the one who got me to pull out the old sewing machine and she was right, once you start sewing on your cards you can't seem to quit.
So, I've got the seam binding bow, some sewing with gold metallic thread, a couple of different die cuts, 3 if you count the plain circle, tucked under the ribbon is a border punch,  this beautiful paper, and last but not least the wonderful sentiment stamp.

Christmas Elegance

The ladies at Bah! Humbug! continue to come up with exciting challenges and they say they're going to start all over again in the new year. Yay! I have lots of cards for friends and relatives and I now have enough that I've been able to send off to Operation Write Home. I know when my son was in Iraq and Somalia he really enjoyed the care packages and cards his unit received from friends and family.
Here's this beautiful paper pack again from My Mind's Eye and Inkadinkado just keeps coming up with more and more stamps that I can't seem to pass up for my growing collection. This was the last piece of green and gold ribbon off this roll, I don't know what I will do now if I can't find anymore, it has seemed to be a go to ribbon for me this year.

Batty For You

When I first heard and read about digi stamps I didn't think I would use them, but now that I have gotten the basic usage down I have even been venturing a little bit farther with them. Like this batty bird, I printed on the designer paper and colored him with Copic Markers, because they are more translucent you can still see the checks on the paper,  then I sized the sentiment to fit in the hardware, really cool.
I was happy to see my background mat photoed purple, but my jewels on the side that look blue are purple also.

Follow Through

Good Afternoon!
This is the card I  have chosen to interpret Susan's challenge at 52-Card Pickup--Follow Through.
When life gets so busy and we find ourselves overwhelmed with commitments that we don't even remember making, sometimes it's best to take a breath or two and listen to that quiet voice inside that is hope. As I've probably said before, "Keep Steppin' ".
Today I used a technique that I haven't done before. The small butterfly was stamped with the Rock 'n Roll technique. I inked up with the pink then rolled the edges on the purple ink pad and then stamped on the card, gives it just the extra little dimension without a lot of effort.
1 Challenge:
Supplies: White Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Stamp: Stampin Up-Flight of the Butterfly, Ink: Stampin Up-Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry, Stampin Up marker-Rich Razzleberry, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-Clear Star, Spica glitter pen-pink, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Labels Four, pink crystal stickers unknown, ribbon-Offray, glue dot.

Fairy Dust Christmas

I've been working on this card in between loads of laundry. With this beautiful paper and this free set of fairy stamps I got when I picked up the October 2010 issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine it turned out with a kind of vintagey feel to it. I really like my white Liquid Applique for snow, but it seemed a little hard for this card, so I must find some white Flower Soft for a softer snow and fur look.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: Cream Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" The Paper Studio, Papers: Stampin Up-Very Vanilla, Deck The Halls Designer Series Paper, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Stamps: Fairy Stamps-Cardmaking & Papercraft, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, Copic Markers, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-gold, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-gold & Clear Star, Stampin Up-ticket punch, Scallop Trim corner & border punch, Michael Richard's metal gold dots, ribbon-Michael's.

Falling Leaves

One last project for you tonight.
I found Tiffany Doodles quite by chance, I believe she has a once a month challenge. She offered a free digi and her October theme is Fall. How can you pass up a freebie? The leaf with the flourishes is her digi. I turned it on it's side, colored it with Stampin Up marker and the flourishes with a copper pigment marker, sponged around then stamped the sentiment with gold ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
I just love that fall leaves paper and this was the perfect sketch to use it one.
I've had a very productive fun day in my studio, it's been awhile since I've gotten so much accomplished in one day. Needless to say I'm a little pooped, so I'll sign off for tonight.

Gothic Arches

Wow, did I have fun making this today. I went to see what Gingersnap Creations Challenge was this week. They are a very Arty bunch of gals over there, so I wasn't sure if I could measure up, but after I looked at some free clip art, I picked the main image.
Before I start sharing how I did this I want to leave you a link to Netty's Craftings. Annette always comes and leaves me encouraging and admiring comments even though our styles are quite different. She says she loves to take old cereal boxes and jazz them up. Usually, when I look at an old cereal box that's exactly what it looks like to me, but she has inspired me to stretch my wings and I think today I have created something very arty from an old cereal box, that I hope will make her proud of a long distance student.
I printed the picture on copy paper, wadded it up before it was dry to get lots of crinkles, cut the middle piece to fit the arch exactly, the two sides were a little thin, glued them  to the 2 1/2" X 4 1/4" arches made from the cereal box cardboard, smeared broken china distress crackle paint all over the edges. I let that dry, I only got tiny crackles, so I'm going to have to practice, but it was o.k. for this project. Sponged black ink all around the edges and on the crackle paint, Stamped the flourishes and bats in black, stamped the skull and Spooky on Tempting Turquoise with black ink and cut out, raised them on pop dots, attached the hinges, and gave the whole thing a couple of sprays with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch.
Hop over to Gingersnap Creations for some wonderful inspiration and stretch your wings.
I'm also entering this in the Creative Inspirations challenge: Spooky--I think it kind of fits the theme.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Cereal Box, Papers: Free Clip Art image, Stampin Up-Tempting Turquoise, Stamp: Little Yellow Bicycle-Frightful Collection, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Ranger Distress Crackle Paint-broken china, CTMH black hinges, Stampin Up-Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, pop dots.

Artist At Work

I am an artist at work today. I'm squeezing this post in before Blogger starts maintenance this evening and believe it or not I have a couple of other projects in progress to be posted later tonight.
Just for tongue in cheek I've got quite a few shapes going on to go with the saying on the tag: "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes--Art is knowing which one to keep" Or Not, as the case is with this card. Love the way the digi image turned out and the tag. I'm not usually the do over girl, but I may take this one apart and ahhh, do it over--later. :-)

Hallo-Scream

I made this card using all papers from my scrap box and new lace and stamp set from Stampin Up.
I paper pieced the dress, vest, and cat, used Scor-Tape to secure the black lace around the square. I wasn't quite sure about this color combo: black, cream, kraft, but I think it turned out very effective for this cute happy hallo-scream!

Vellum Snowflakes

This card is for sure for the Bah! Humbug! challenge this week because my central image is embossed vellum with the new embossing folder from Stampin Up. I used the sketch from Creative Inspirations, but they may kick me off their challenge because there is no stamping on this card. I'll give it a go over there but I wanted to make sure you all knew where the sketch came from.
These are those wonderful papers from My Mind's Eye Signature Christmas Holiday Glitter Book, and in person this card is so pretty and sparkly, those 3 brads  holding the vellum on were the perfect finishing touch. Well, except for no stamping. Sorry girls.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: 5 1/4" Square White Card Blank, Papers: Stampin Up-Whisper White and Vellum card stock, My Mind's Eye signature Christmas Holiday Glitter Book, Best Occasions card stock blue, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-silver, Stampin Up-Pretties Kit brads, Stampin Up-Sizzix Textured Impressions-Northern Flurry embossing folder, Fiskars shape cutting template-Circles-1, Coluzzle circle shape cutter template, Stampin Up dimensionals.

HB Fancy Fold

This is a very long post, I hope I don't lose you half way through, it's worth the length if you hang in there.
This card started it's life as an idea for the Crafty Cardmakers Fancy Folds challenge. Looking at all the other challenges that I might be able to combine-- this is the final product of a fun afternoon. I usually say I'm not the puzzle girl, but I do love fooling around with different folds and techniques.
One of the next challenges I looked at was Allsorts Challenge-Lets Play Bingo-I chose the 1st vertical row which is Brads, Buttons, punch. Hop over and see how the DT worked their Bingo cards.
It took four pictures to show the whole card. The first three are the outside of the card, first pulling the ribbon to the left, then if you just lift the ribbon to the right you've got a little place to write something and some clockworks, the final picture is the inside lifted open from the bottom, your final sentiment and
can also write something on the top fold inside.
I CASED a card from Card Maker Magazines Fall issue of Fun Folds. Thanks to the card designed by Kathleen Paneitz I was inspired to create my card. Same folds and shapes, but with different papers and stamps it came out very different.
It's not hard to create and gives you lots of fun surfaces to decorate and write on.
