Red Peony

I have to start this post out with some clapping! I won a Top 5 at The ABC Challenge on my Rememberance Quote card, it's always nice to get acknowledged for projects that you think turned out pretty.

The next bit of clapping is for starting a second blog. In late 2008 not only did I not know very much about blogging, but with encouragement from husband and a very good friend this blog was born. I've been mulling over a title for the second blog , what the content would be and how to set it up in general. Things just kind of came together Sunday night and Beverly's Book Pile was born. My Mom reads mysteries then I read them so we get double our monies worth. We pass them on to a friend and on down the line. I don't read as fast as my Mom, so consequently, the title of the new blog. If you are a reader come on over and visit, get in on the ground floor, as I grow the new blog I will try to give some fun reviews and maybe pass along some interesting little tidbits of info about reading.
Okey Dokey, enough clapping, onto to my pretty card.
Crafty Cardmakers has challenged us to Challenge Ourselves with some supplies we haven't used in a while or never, a new technique, you know really go outside you comfort zone. I dug around and came up with some Radiant Rain shimmering mist that I bought way back in July 2009 at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in Grapevine, Tx. That was the second Stamp Show I had ever been to. That's where you go to see all the latest and greatest products and to see them demo'd. Unfortunately, these went to the bottom of the pile, and yes they did shake up even after so long a time. I also, found some Memories Mists on the clearance isle at Hobby Lobby quite awhile ago. They don't shimmer, just color.  Now, we begin--the bottom scallop is sprayed with the Radiant Rain Red Jasper, the tissue scallops are sprayed with Memories Mists Strawberry Daiquiri, dried with heat gun, crushed up, fluffed out, attached with brad, then lightly sprayed with Radiant Rain Solar Gold. I printed the quote on double sided mulberry paper, stamped the sentiment for the front and assembled.
6 Challenges:
Supplies: 5 1/2" Square Black Card Blank, Papers: Lg. Scallop-The Paper Cut, tissue paper from scrap stash, double sided mulberry paper-The Paper Co., Stamp: Clearly Wordsworth-Tiny Wise Words, Ink: CTMH-Z2116 Cranberry, Brilliance-Galaxy Gold, Radiant Rain-Jasper Red, Solar Gold, Memories Mists-Strawberry Daiquiri, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Classic Scallop Circle, glue dots.

Thanks for viewing,
Beverly G ♥

Absolutely gorgeous card and just the beauty I needed to see tonight LOL! Congrats on leaping into a second blog--I don't know how all you crafty ladies manage your time so well, but you certainly keep us all inspired and if your book reviews are as outstanding as your cards, we readers will be in for a real treat ;-)
