Heart Wiper Card

My second card has come into reality. This is what they call a wiper card, it's really cute, when you pull each end whatever you have hidden inside pops up, very tactile and interactive. I found this K&Company Designer Paper Pad at Michael's, it's 12 X 12 and called Lovely, some of the papers are great for scrapbook pages, just add pictures and you would be good to go. However, I'm a card maker, sooo, I cut up different elements from a big sheet and cut the light blue piece right out of the middle. The big piece of paper had some distressed sepia edges in spots, but when I cut it out of the middle I lost that, but wanted that look. I looked around, decided to take a piece of cardboard, held it with it's edge against the ink pad and schooched it back and forth to ink it up, pressed and schooched it along the edges of paper til it looked like I wanted. Sometimes you don't need expensive tools.
I found another challenge blog that's new to me-Paper Sundaes , they have a very pretty blog, so hop over and check them out.

Delightfully Delicious

I have 2 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge blog. We could make a round scallop or a Square, I've got my mojo going and got both of them made. The round scallop will be in a post below this one. I have to take some poetic liscense here because of my ribbon, in person it looks more teal than it photographed. My photos have improved, but still a little lighting challenged sometimes.

Celebrate The Day

I finally got to use some of the white Liquid Applique' that I hunted and hunted before Christmas and could find all kinds of colors but white. It is perfect for frosting and snow. I also absolutely love this Barbara Trombley Art Glitter , I've used it before, I have a couple of colors and will be getting a few more as $'s permit. I used Stampin Up Iridescent Ice to glitter the brads to make them match the striped paper.
I found a new challenge to me--Design Dollies, I'm going to give them a go and see how I like what's going on at their site, if I read it right they have 3 challenges a week, now that ought to keep anybody on their toes.

Feminine Flower

I started this card with the sketch and the colors. I had one piece of patterned paper from CTMH that these colors brought to mind and it had the one big flower that is the very back of my flower. Lots of scrunchy paper flowers have been being used lately and I was featured at The Color Dare for a card I made with just tissue paper. I cut out the circles for the upper layers of my flower then took my scissors and cut around the circle to kind of ruffle them, didn't want distinct scallops, put the whole thing together with a brad from the Stampin Up Pretties Kit and sponged the tips of the whole thing with Stampin Up Rich Razzleberry. I'm really liking the new little Stampin Up Embosslits Beautiful Wings folder, the butterflies that come out of there are perfect for cards. I twisted some purple wire I had in my stash around the 3 bodies on the green butterfly, curled the tips, and added the crystals, tipped the wings with Rich Razzleberry.
I'm kind of bragging here, but when I got through putting this card together I sat back and said-"Wow, how pretty!" Then realized there is no stamping on it. It's amazing what you can make with beautiful papers, inks, punches, some instructions from the clever lady who came up with these flowers, and a bunch of other little do dads that we true crafters and artists just can't seem to keep from collecting.
I hope you gals at these 5 Challenges let my card fly with no stamping.
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: CTMH, Adorn it Carolee's Creations Soft Tan Cloves, textured card stock unknown, Ink: Stampin Up-Rich Razzleberry, Fiskars Shape Cutter templates-Circles-1, Rectangles-1, EK Success corner rounder punch, Martha Stewart-Lacy edge border punch, Stampin Up-Pretties Kit, Best Occasion Rhinestone stickers, Stampin Up-Sizzix Embosslits Beautiful Wings, ribbon and lace-Offray, purple wire, glue dots, pop dots.

Happy Sunshine

Susan at 52-Card Pick Up has a wonderful inspirational story over on her challenge blog. I chose to interpret Spreading Light as spreading sunshine and happiness wherever we go. My Mom always said it took less muscles in your face to smile than frown. Your sunny disposition will make more people happy than you even realize, try it, you'll like it.
I used some Memories Mists that I got on sale at Hobby Lobby for the background paper and it was a perfect match for my CTMH Goldrush embossing powder.

Love Heart

It's taken me all day long to get this one card made, I'm still fighting off the last of this upper respiratory infection, it's been a real bummer.
I have to tell you about the front first. Masking is for one challenge, so, I stamped the Love on Eclipse Tape and cut out the letters, stamped it again in burgundy ink put the mask letters on top of that and then stamped the heart in bermuda bay ink, sponged lightly around the edges, attached the small sparkly flower, Crop-a-diled 2 eyelets through both layers and tied bow, attached to front. Inside, after I punched the hearts, I used the piece of stock for a stencil and lightly sponged the hearts with burgundy ink and lightly sponged around the edges with the same ink.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Black Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Bravo Burgundy, Stamp: Stampin Up: Love You Much, Ink: Stampin Up: Bravo Burgundy, Bermuda Bay, Ellison texture plate-Daisies, Darice-self-stick gems, ribbon-Offray, JoAnn's-metallic eyelets, Stampin Up: Heart to Heart punch.

Chocolate Bunny

As soon as I saw this sketch at The Pink Elephant Challenge I knew I had to use my new stuff from Stampin Up , it just screamed Chocolate Bunny. I don't think you can tell it very well, but I used Zing! Embossing Powder Brownie to emboss the bunny, he feels very chocolatty. I found this cute little poem to go with it, so , if it doesn't make you giggle, I know it will make you smile.

Do Not Open Tag

I have never been particularly interested in tags since I started card making, but since I have rediscovered Tuesday Taggers, I'm hooked. The challenge this week is to use Christmas leftovers. I'm still using left over paper from last year, the larger tag was the front of a Christmas card we received, the ribbon was from a gift bag that got torn to bits being opened, and last but not least I got a little bit of stamping on here with one of the first sets of CTMH stamps I bought(D1177 No Peaking). I always use Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, it's my favorite.
That pretty much takes care of a supply list, this challenge came together pretty easy.

Snowflakes Gone Wild!

This is the title to one of the challenges and I went with it. Bah! The nearly new that I unearthed from some rearranging is my VersaMark Frost Dazzles ink pad. I don't think it shows, but I inked with dazzles ink then the light blue chalk ink and stamped all those snowflakes on the background, then heat set, they slightly sparkle.

Birdie Birthday Wishes

A new day a new set of challenges, card wise and personal, never a dull moment around here.
Just a little tip thrown in here, when you die your silk flowers by dabbing them on you ink pad, make sure you allow time for them to dry or I guess you could hit them with the heat gun(make sure they don't fly away) or you could end up with finger prints somewhere you don't want them and have to kiss the area with some delicate dabbing sponge work to make sure they don't look like finger prints.

Recycled Merry Christmas

In for a penny, in for a pound. I'm biting on Bah! Humbug! Challenge 1-Recycling! and not only this challenge, but they have also issued a Loyalty Challenge for the rest of the year with prizes to be had for all of us challenge junkies who'll try to hang in there with making Christmas cards all year long.
The tree and 2 layers it is glued to, I cut off a Christmas card one of my SIL's gave us for Christmas. One of the girls at her church made them, so I didn't feel like I could put created by me on my photo, so I put Re-Created. I've seen this Christmas tree fold before so I know it's not original to her. I didn't totally steal it. The funny thing is my card doesn't look like the one I cut apart, just by attaching those layers to a red card and stamping the Merry Christmas below with star stickers, it's good to go again, but not to the SIL. :-)
Supplies: Red Card Blank 5 1/2" X 4" Halcraft, Papers: from recycled card, Stamp: Clearly Wordsworth V007 Carolers, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Mrs. Grossman's stickers.

B-G-S Birthday

Well, it's now 11:30pm. I got this card made earlier this afternoon, but since I took the photos all kinds of obstacles have come up. I hope I squeeze under the wire in the 3 Challenges I'm entering it in.
Dutch Dare Card Challenges-DDCC #68: Oh Joy gave the instructions for a Joy Fold card. I always say I'm not the puzzle girl, but I always seem to be drawn to these different folded cards. The instructions were great and the measurements spot on. The flourishes for Humble Pie Stamps-Challenge #2-Flourishes are around the journal box on the inside and, of course, the piece de resistaunce(that's not spelled right Linda, for a bit of southern flair :-), is the Gold, Silver, Black, and White at The Play Date Cafe-PDCC11-gold-silver-black-white Metallics.
A very different card and since it's hard to come up with guy cards, I think this one might fit the bill.

Supplies: Joy Fold card, Papers: white, black, gold card stock unknown, DCWV-The Glitter Stack, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, VersaMark Ink pad, CTMH Silver embossing powder, Sharpie Poster Paint Gold and Silver markers, Stamps: Fiskars-how many candles, Scrappy Cat-Birthday Wishes, CTMH-D1201 Frame of Mind, Stampin Up-Birthday Whimsy, EK Success-heart punch, 1 1/2" circle punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Spots & Dots, Karen Foster-big time brads, glue dots.

BD Party Favor!

First, you enjoy some Push-Up Pops with the kids or grandkids. Second, and this is important, don't let anyone throw the cardboard tubes away when you're finished. Third, you have an instant party favor for any kind of party, mine happens to be Happy Birthday! These tubes are not as large as toilet paper rolls so you would probably have enough papers in your scrap box to do a few, don't forget they don't all have to match(even though I tend to be the matching girl).
2 of these challenges have been up and running for a while now, but, you might want to hop over to Stampin Royalty and give them a check out, this is their very first challenge! I love to try new things, don't you?
Supplies: Push-Pop tube, Paper: American Traditional-Celebrate Scrap Pad, Stamp: Fiskars-how many candles, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, CTMH markers-lilac mist, citrus leaf, sunkiss yellow, watermelon, sorbet, baby pink, dutch blue, Sakura Gelly Roll pen-Clear Star, silver wired ribbon, fibers from $ store, Paper Crafting tags value pack, decorative scissors.
