Your Day Gift Card Holder

Good Day Sunday, and it's Project Tuesday time for me. This one was a little difficult to photograph, hope you get the gist. The team just keeps coming up with great projects to challenge us to create outside our boxes. As you may have noticed I have really taken a liking to these make your own flowers. On this one I stamped some flower images, cut them out, inked the edges, mushed them together, fluffed them out and used the giant brad for the center, this will count for my cut it out, pop it up element. I have to give a big shout out to Gretchen Barron, she took the time to figure out all the measurements and graciously shared a great tutorial so that all of us ruler challenged people could get the most out of our new scallop trim punches. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but in all things worth while, practice, practice.
5 Challenges:
Supplies: Instructions given on Project Tuesday blog, Papers: Stampin Up-green galore, whisper white, others from my scrap stash, Stamps: Autumn Leaves-Rhonna Farrer-flower stamps, Sweet 'n Sassy-#1012 Birthday Wishes, PrintWorks-Q002 Great Birthday, Inkadinkado-97635 Round Frames, CTMH-C1004 Dragonfly & Friends, Ink: VersaMark Ink Pad, CTMH-Z2164 Sorbet, Hollyhock, Stampin Up-Kiwi Kiss, Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, The Paper Studio-jumbo brads, Stampin Up-corner and border scallop trim punches, Stampin Up-1 1/2" and 1 3/4" circle punches, ribbon-Offray and Hobby Lobby, glue dots.

Time Flies + A Happy Award

A nice surprise today(I'm kind of liking surprises now)from Michelle-Midnight Crafter she's been leaving me some really nice comments lately and how fun, considers me a new friend. Being my Mom's full time care giver and she's not leaving the house hardly anymore it has become harder to maintain friendships and make new friends, so being able to make new friends in the blogging card challenge world has been very beneficial for me. This was special, thanks Michelle.
There's a couple of things that go with the award:

1. Creating in my studio.
2. Learning new techniques.
3. Entering challenges.

10. Going to Museums(used to, will again)
5 Friends to receive the Award also:
1. Linda P
2. Liz
3. Linda C
4. Arielle
5. Sandra
These are ladies I admire for many varying reasons, I won't extoll their virtures here, but if you have time hop over and check out their blogs. A very eclectic mix of talent.
Now onto my card---Sue at 52-Card Pickup has set another interesting challenge. This is my take on her Perspective Challenge, she's really making us use our little grey cells. I love it. One of the girls who has entered made the cutest little monster card. I appreciated her light hearted mood. In my life I have discovered it's best to TRY  keep a bright perspective on situations.
You may recognize this stamp set, it's from Artful Inkables , it keeps calling to be stamped. I also used Stampin Up-Itty Bitty Backgrounds, this is going to be a very, very versatile stamp set. I also tried a new technique to me, oops, now I don't remember what it is called, but you ink your stamp with the lightest color(that was the green, then you roll the edges of the stamp around on the darker color ink pad(that was the brown) and stamp. I think you can see how this turned out if you enlarge the picture.
3 Challenges:
  • Technostamper    TSSC110-Sketch
  • Scrapmaster's Paradise    SPCC#36-Creamy Caramel, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss
  • 52-CardPickup    52 CP08: Perspective

Butterfly Mother's Day

Just a little bit of explanation on this card. Crafty Cardmakers challenge is Tricolour-Using the colour wheel. This means we have to use Triatic, Split Complimentary, or Analogous. Uh Oh, big words, have to use the dictionary because I haven't gotten this technical with color since college. I usually just wing it. I won't make you guess, I used Analogous(blue, green, purple). It worked out great because I have been wanting to use this set of stamps and now I'm ready with a Mother's Day card to boot. The other challenges are pretty self-explanatory.

Kind Thoughts

I'm still playing around with this updated editor thingy, moving my pictures around kind of breaks things up and keeps some interest going(maybe).
Our Creative Corner wants us to try out a new technique this week, that's cool, an old dog can still learn new tricks. I have admired cards with brayering on them for a long time. I had actually started out in my mind to try a resist technique, but forgot to put the resist on first. I brayered a piece of glossy paper with the Ranger Happy Birthday Big and Juicy ink pad, when I finished, cleaned off my hands and brayer, because for some reason I had the ink up to my wrists. Oh, goody, that qualifies for Doing the Mess Around challenge at Saturday Spotlight . Back to my train of thought--that's where the old dog comes in--the paper kind of had a misty evening feeling to me, I thought of this set of stamps and Wah Lah there is an article in the March Scrap and Stamp Arts magazine about Mirror Stamped Cards, new technique for me.
I'm going to take a little liberty here and say my friend Liz, because she was one of my first followers and comes to visit pretty often with lots of nice comments. She's on the design team at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. She stopped by this morning and put me on to a blog hop they are having with some new release digis and if you do the hop you have a chance to win a couple of the new releases. That being said I'm adding them to my side bar and entering this card in their challenge for this week-Touchy Feely!!-that would be the distressing around the edges and my little bit of bling dots, they are always tactile.
Whew-bet you thought I never was going to get to the challenge list:
I have to do a quick edit and add another challenge that I missed seeing on my list this afternoon:
Another quick edit here, when Avril left me a nice comment, she also reminded me to leave a link to The Craft Barn, I forgot, thanks Avril, be sure to hop over and check out the huge selection and wonderful customer service at--The Craft Barn
7 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Glossy paper, Stampin Up-Choc. Chip, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Stamps: Stampin Up-Lovely as a Tree, Fiskars-Cameo Ovations, Ink: Ranger Big and Juicy-Happy Birthday, CTMH-Z2111 Chocolate, Spica Glitter Pen-gold, Spellbinders Shapeabilities-Doodles Parts, gold dot stickers, ribbon-Offray, Michael's, Ranger Distress Tool, pop dots.

Monochrome

I'm a bit early this morning, got some general living going on later that would cause me not to get my last Guest Designer Spot card posted until to late in the day.The challenge this week at Creative Inspirations is: Monochrome. Very easy to choose one color and various shades of that color to create some stunning cards. So hop over to check out what the Design Team has come up with to inspire all of us.
It's hard to believe that the month of February is almost gone. It has been so much fun having my cards featured with the rest of the Design Team on CreativeInspirations this month. One of my goals is to be on a Design Team and since I've already accomplished a couple of goals on my list I'm thinking I might get up enough courage and apply later on this year if some Design Team calls come open. Thanks to the gals at Creative Inspirations for choosing me for the month of February. My card is so appropriate for all the gloomy weather that's been going on all over the world, but as the inside says,"Blue Skies Ahead."
Just a quick bit of clapping. Yesterday after posting about surprises when I went over to The Play Date Cafe to enter my card in the current challenge I found out I had been picked for 1st prize from the previous challenge--Clapping--and I had won 5 sets of digi stamps from Stamps For Life over at Crazy 4 Challenges--More Clapping! The clapping is kind of for myself, but in actuallity I'm clapping for all the wonderful sponsors who generously supply these great prizes for the challenges.
I'm going to enter my card in a couple of other challenges today.
Pile It On! challenge for this week is Get Well Soon and even though my card doesn't say Get Well, when we're not feeling well it's still nice to hear that blue skies are ahead.
Humble Pie challenge for this week is One Type of Embellishment, so my one lone little ribbon qualifies for that.
Thanks again to all  who come and view my artistic endeavors and leave such encouraging comments, they are very much appreciated.

Supplies: Card Blank Blue textured card stock 5 1/4" Square, Papers: Stampin Up-Sweet Slumber Specialty Designer Series, CTMH, Stamps: Stampin Up-Font of You, Printworks-Q004 Caring Thoughts, Ink: CTMH-Z2160 Twilight, Ribbon-FX Hobby Lobby, pop dots.

Coffee Coffee

My, My it's already Tuesday, the weekend just flew by. We had family and friends, that's always a lot of fun and I got 2 packets of cards ready to mail off to one contest and one to maybe be featured in a publication. I'm keeping details to a minimum so if I do win or get picked it will be big news. Speaking of news, I found out this weekend that my Chocolate Bunny card got picked in the Top 15 at The Pink Elephant Challenge and my Bicycle Billy card won 1st at Easy Breezy Kewl Colour Challenge . I've never been big on surprises, but each week when I check to see what new challenges there will be to enter it is so much fun to see my name in lights, so to speak. I've also won some really cool prizes and badges for my side bar, I guess I can used to the surprise thing after all. There is so much fabulous talent out there that to win these challenges is still amazing to me. I have to Thank You all again for all the wonderful honors and accolades.
On to my card. This is for 3 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Stamps: TPC Studio-Coffee Cafe, Inkadinkado-98780 Special Thoughts, the sentiment is an unmounted I've had before I started keeping up with brands, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Coffee, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Tiny Mosaic, Marvy-sm. circle punch, Karen Foster-big time brads, ribbon-Offray.

Time To Get Well

I usually wait until Sunday to do the Project Tuesday Challenge, but things are different for the next few days. They call this a Joy Fold card, there are excellent instructions and once you have all your pieces cut and your designer paper cut in the right directions, it's easy to put together. My butterfly is cut from the paper I made from the previous card when I wheeled off the extra ink before I cleaned the wheel.
I was so surprised when I finished this card to find that I had used parts of  5  stamp sets and I guess I should count the wheel.
I hope the time pieces on the focal image convey, "It's time to get well."

Supplies: Joy Fold Card, Papers: Stampin Up-Bravo Burgandy, Very Vanilla,  K&Co-Terri Conrad Lovely Designer Paper Pad, Stamps: Inkadinkado-Butterfly/Time Collage, Stampin Up-Yummy, Charming, Clearly Wordsworth-Everyday Greetings, Autumn Leaves-Jounaling Tags, Stampin Up-Very Vintage jumbo wheel, Ink: Stampin Up-Rich Razzleberry, CTMH-Z2125 Grey Wool, Z2163 White Daisy, Cuttlebug Cut & Emboss-Butterflies, Michael's-black sticker dots.

Say It In Sepia!

Good Morning All! This is my 3rd week as Guest Designer at Creative Inspirations , so hard to believe it is the 3rd week of February already. Time flies when you're having fun. Speaking of flying:  This week the challenge is Say It In Sepia! Get our all your brown and cream inks, papers, and look through your ribbons and lace, I know you can come up with some really classy cards for this one. The design team have some wonderful cards for super inspiration.
For my card I chose to use the Magic Snowflake technique that I found over at Splitcoast Stampers during the holidays. I've had a lot of fun with this technique, it's so much fun when you cover up the white embossing with ink then hit it with the heat gun and watch your image rise to the top.
This stamp set is from Artful Inkables, it's one of my favorite sets of stamps right now, it's very versatile. Not to long ago, I stamped it and watercolored it for a completely different look. They have also come out with some new releases, so take a few minutes and hop over to see their new products.
Hope you're kicked back with your cup of joe, pen and paper making your challenge lists and we look forward to seeing your entries in the Say It In Sepia! challenge this week.
I might not be posting for a few days, family, friends, and I'm getting packets ready to ship to a couple of magazines to try to get published again. I want to make sure I get all the paper work filled out correctly, wouldn't want to not get published for a few i's and t's not dotted or crossed. Thank you loyal followers for continued wonderful comments probably see you again Sunday.

Gumball Birthday

I'm really pushing it this morning because needless to say Tuesday got away from me. I'll be having a little nap after this post, then I'll be back at 8 a.m.
I've always been fascinated by shaker cards so when Stampin Up came up with these little treat cup dooeys, wow, how easy is that now, even stamps to match.
I have to squeeze a little clapping in here because when I went to check something on SPColor Combos I discovered my Filagre Valentine card has been picked as one of the top 5, so I got to put another badge on my sidebar, THANK YOU SO MUCH LADIES!, what an honor especially since this is my second top 5 on their challenge since I've been doing challenges. Mother's Day it will be 1 year participating in challenges, more clapping. O.K.enough-on ward we go--

Sparkle Snowman

This card is for 2 Challenges:
  • Gretchen Barron     Inspiration In Action Weekend Sketch Challenge 119

I have been following Gretchen's blog for a few weeks now because she was so generous in giving out her measurements and tutorial on how to use the new Stampin Up Scallop and Heart corner and border punches. That's how I found out she has a challenge, I hope I'm getting this in under the deadline. This sketch of Gretchen's worked out perfect for my Snowman card for Bah! Humbug!, that's some more of the white Liquid Applique, and I hit the top of it after I heat set it with my Clear Star gelly roll pen for just a tiny bit of sparkle.

I've got another card ready to follow this one and then around 8 a.m. I will be posting my next appearance as Guest Designer on Creative Inspirations, don't forget to check out their challenge for this week , I think you will like it. I can't tell you what it is or that would spoil the surprise, besides I know some of you are early risers, so get your cup of joe, pen and paper to make a list of the next challenges you're going to participate in.

Heart Swirls

This is going to be kind of lengthy. First, you can hear me clapping, yesterday I found out I had won 1st place at Crazy 4 Challenges on my Key To Your Heart card and at The Pink Elephant Challenge I was picked as a Top 15 winner, there is alot of talent entering these challenges so to be picked as any kind of a winner is a real honor.
Some of the challenges I'm entering this card in require some explanation. CCEE Stampers challenged us to go to www.imagekind.com and find some inspiration for our cards. There was a picture of a Blown glass heat which brought to mind my alcohol inks which I haven't used in a very long time, so that lead to the challenge at Our Creative Corner-Something Old That's New, and Saturday Spotlight to use something Around the House. I got out a piece of glossy card stock inked up the felt pad, on one end of  the paper I smooshed off the majority of ink then went to the other end of the paper mashed down kind of hard so the velco kind of made scratch like swirly lines, then took a straw(this is where something from around the house comes in) held the alcohol ink bottle tipped down so a drop of ink would start coming out and blew through the straw to make the yellowish splatters. Raise The Bar challenge is to tell what stamp set will be mine forever, that would be this Close To My Heart stamp set D1309 Hearthrob. I've got a lot of heart stamps, but I always find myself coming back to this set for it's lovely versatility. I have also had this ribbon for quite a while and have been trying to use it, so it finally made it to a card, it might also appear on an Easter card. I think that about covers all the explaining-now for the list of challenges:
7 Challenges:
Supplies: Pretty in Pink Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2", Papers: Stampin Up, glossy card stock, Stamp: CTMH-D1309 Heartthrob, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Stampin Up-Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Ranger Alcohol Inks, Martha Stewart-Embossed Trefoil Heart border punch, Stampin Up-Sizzix Flourish texture plate, ribbon-Offray, silver cord, Plaid-metal heart charm, Michael Richard's-crystal stickers.

Split Negative Love

The main image on this card is made using the split negative technique. I've seen cards made using this technique, but never had the courage to try it out. Hurdles are made to be jumped, so I jumped, I think it turned out pretty good. It's always fun to try something new and it turn out looking good. Hop over to "Just Us Girls" Challenge and create something outside your comfort zone. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, but discovered I have missed the deadline, but I'll give a clickable link here because you might want to check out Melissa's challenge blog she's got some good sketches. Next week I'll have to make sure I get done a day earlier. And as usual I can't seem to make a heart card without putting this eyelash yarn on it. I'm not really a frou frou girl, but I do love this yarn.

Flower Cake

I've decided I do love making these paper flowers. You can match whatever paper and inks you are using, and when your card stock is thick like Stampin Up's you can split it and it gives you a fluffy texture. There is a technique called felted paper where you pull apart your card stock and it looks like felt, so there you go, you could make a whole felt flower. Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge wants us to Dazzle them, but I've just got a subtle dazzle going on, hope they let me slide through.
You might notice a little different look to picture placement, I'm using the up dated version of editor that I found under Settings. I'm pretty sure with this I can have more choices on where I put my pictures in a post, so bear with the learning curve here, please, Thanks :-)
5 Challenges:

Supplies: Dk. ivory card blank 4" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Floral background paper unknown, Stamps: Stampin Up-Happy Moments, Ink: Stampin Up-Whisper White, Ruby Red, CTMH-Z2120 Garden Green, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Textile, Cuttlebug Die-Flowers, Stampin Up- word window punch, modern label punch, Fiskars Shape Cutter Template-Circles 1, Marvy sm. circle punch, The Paper Studio Spare Parts- mini heart brads, Michael's-Holiday ribbon, Michael's-rhinestone stickers, pop dots, glue dots.

Friendship Shared

People have been out shoveling their driveways, something we don't see very often in this neck of the woods.
A little explanation goes with this card today for a couple of the challenges I'm entering it in. 52-Card Pickup is an inspiration challenge from the book The Little Prince, chapter 21. I haven't read that book since I don't remember when so reading chapter 21 brought back fond memories of reading to my boys. The little prince meets a fox and they have a conversation about looking for and taming friends, so this digital image from Squigglefly seemed an appropriate pick for the way I interpreted the chapter. I have won a few digi stamps lately and so I was ready for a digital challenge. The artist for this digi is Tracey Malnofski, head over to Squigglefly and check our her art and all the other artists they have, it's an eclectic mix. I think the other challenges on my list will be pretty self-explanatory.

  6 Challenges:
Supplies: White card blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Paper: Stampin Up, Stamps: Digi-Squigglefly Share Friendship, MSE!-Q704, Will 'n Way-Whimsy Borders, Ink: Stampin Up-Soft Suede, Kiwi Kiss, White Liquid Applique, Copic Ciao-E51, Le PlumeII-crimson lake, yellow Stampin Up marker-soft suede, CTMH markers-sunflower, parchment, baby pink, buttercup, topiary, lilac mist, black, cocoa, hollyhock, amethyst, petal, smokey plum, spring iris, chocolate, brown bag, creme burlee, barn red, QuicKutz--stripes label embossing folder, Stampin Up-curly label punch, Scallop Trim, Horizontal straight punch, ribbon-Offray, Stampin Up-piercing kit, glue dot.

Filagre Valentine

It's still snowing here, around 6pm we broke an all time record and by morning it's predicted we will have 12" of snow. It's very picturesque, but very dangerous for all who have to be out.
On to my card. This is probably one of the most unusual Valentine cards you will see this season.
It was as I feared when I tried to photo it the flower and the ribbon don't show up as the same color as the panel on the right, but in real life it all looks the same color. The ribbon started out white and silver, but I took a sponge and Bermuda Bay ink and ran it down the length of my ribbon, wah lah, it was dyed the same color as the panel on the right. Let's see I said that already didn't I. If I say it enough times I may be able to convince your eyes of that.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: Card Blank Soft Suede 5 1/2" square, Papers: Stampin Up-Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla,Provo Craft Bitty Scrap Pads-Heritage Post, Best Occasions Pearlescent Paper Pack, Stamps: Stampin Up-Noteworthy, CTMH-D1309 Heartthrob, Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer Flourishes, Ink: Stampin Up-Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, VersaMark Ink pad, Stampin Up-clear embossing powder, Spellbinders Shapeabilities-Doodles Parts, Best Occasions Rhinestone accents, Michael's-clear medium brads and rhinestone stickers, Vintaj-teensie butterfly, pop dots, glue dots.

We are having a record breaking snowfall here in N. Texas, my friend from N.Y. state that lives near Copperstown doesn't even have this much snow right now, all the big snow falls up there have just missed them. By the grace of God we have power and are praying for all the folks who don't.
My love bugs card is kind of like that old saying, "you can put one to many sequins on something". When I got through putting the card together I thought it needed something and thought, "oh, sugar dust would be just the thing", but now I'm not to sure. When you're not the do over girl, you take what you get and learn from your mistakes, unfortunately you guys have to put up with viewing some of my mistakes.
Design Dollies have 3 challenges per week and as it turns out this card is for 2 of their challenges this week.
Kind of 3 Challenges:
Supplies: Kraft card blank 4" X 5 1/2" Paper Reflections, Paper: Stampin Up-Green Galore, Very Vanilla, Stamps: Stampin Up-Love Bug, Will 'n Way-Whimsy Borders, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Coffee, Stampin Up-Kiwi Kiss, Copic Spica Clear glitter pen, CTMH markers-honey, sunny yellow, garden green, sunflower, ocean, key lime, Stamp La Jolle-Sugar Dust, Stampin Up-1" circle punch, Fiskars Shape Cutting template-Circles-1, Double-sided sticky sheet, Mary Engelbreit ribbon, pop dots.

Cup of Care

This day got away from me with general living, can't have fun all the time. Daring Cardmakers has the Birthstone of the Month Challenge at the beginning of each month, the color amethyst went perfect with this older set of stamps from Stampin Up. I'm also going to give a little shout out here to Craft Obsessions they are a UK supplier, but there are many times that I find myself ordering from the UK because they have things in stock that I can't find here in the states. I looked around their site and they've to a lot of neat stuff, check them out when you're browsing.

Guest Designer/Anyone For Leftovers

A great good morning everyone. I have to start out with the announcement of my blog candy winner from last week. First the answer to my question was, all the DT members and myself used images of little girls. And the WINNER is: Linda from Multicoloured Imagery .
Pink and Cream seemed to conjour up images of little girls, so to my surprise when I got my post ready for this morning I didn't even realize until now that my mind went to little boys for my next card.
This weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations is: Anyone For Leftovers
I used the Faux Torn Mosaic technique for my background paper which was a piece of paper leftover from a previous project. It already had some torn edges so this technique seemed to lend itself to this card. You can find the instructions for this technique on Splitcoast Stampers .
Looking forward to seeing all your neat creations that you come up with this week after you have rummaged through your leftovers. Hop over to Creative Inspirations later this morning and see what the Design Team has come up with out of their leftovers.
Being guest designer has really been a fun endeavor and a great honor. I think one of my next goals will be to apply for a Design Team member spot. 2010 has been good to me so far, I might get accepted somewhere, you never can say never.

Supplies: Kraft Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" Paper Refliction, Papers: All from my scrap box-I didn't used to be good about keeping papers and scraps separate, but I'm trying to do better-sometimes other want to know where they came from, the layout is similar to the one with the instructions for the technique, Stamps: Inkadinkado-97620 Dogs, CTMH-C1184 Frogs, Ink: Stamp Up-Pacific Point, CTMH-Z 2123 Goldrush, Snails generated in Printmaster 11, The Paper Studio Spare Parts-button brads, Jo Ann's-Gold Metal Rim Tags, colored hemp cord, pop dots.

Bicycle Billy

Another card before midnight, and don't forget all you loyal followers in the morning I will be posting my second card for my Guest Designer spot on Creative Inspirations .
This is another one of my new stamps from Lili of the Valley, we've got lots of boys in our family, so this stamp will get a lot of ink. I already had out my watercolor wheel so I'm on a watercolor roll. I haven't made a big investment in Copic markers, some said you could use Sharpie markers like copic markers, but I haven't practiced enough to make a good go of that. My watercolor wheel never fails me.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Cream Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Very Vanilla, K&Co Hopscotch Boy Designer Pad, Stamps: Lili of the Valley-Boy on Bicycle, Stampabilities-Make a Wish, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink: Coffee, Stampin Up-Pacific Point, ChartPak-watercolor wheel, Stampin Up-1 3/4" circle punch, Martha Stewart-zig-zag border punch, hemp cord, Michael's-ribbon, button, pop dot.

Simple Things

I wanted to get a few cards made today, but so far this is my one accomplishment. If I had to get just one done, this one turned out pretty cute. This is one of my new Lili of the Valley stamps, for some reason I'm kind of picky about the kind of fairy stamps I like. I really like these, I have won a couple of digi fairies that I like and then there are the Stamping Bella fairies. Fairies are kind of growing on me since I started doing the Flutter By Wednesday Challenges.
This is the cracked glass technique on the fairy image. ABC Challenge has started a new once a month technique challenge and this is the first one for February.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: Black Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Stamps: Lili of the Valley, Clearly Wordsworth-Tiny Wise Words, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink: Coffee, VersaMark Ink Pad, Ranger Distress Ink-aged mahogany, Stampin Up-Clear Embossing Powder, Chartpak-water color wheel, PrismaColor pen-brick beige, Copic Ciao marker-E51, Cuttlebug die-slider tag, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Classic Scallop Oval Lg. , ribbon-Offray, Spica glitter pen-clear.

Clapping Jumping Shouting & a Card

I have to explain the title of this post--I found out today that Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine published one of my cards in the April issue. I had sent in a black and white wedding card for their black and white challenge, but didn't get picked for that one, and I saw they were also calling for Rock 'n Roll cards. Oh my, Oh my, I'm so excited, I bet you can all here me clapping myself all over the world. What an honor to be featured in an article with so many other talented artists. One of my goals for turning 60 and for the year 2010 was to get one or more of my cards published in a real magazine and to find out in February that it has happened--Wow!
Enough clapping (for now:-)

Key To Your Heart

Well, this is Sunday and here's my project for Project Tuesday, I think Sunday's are just the day that everything seems to come together for a project. Boy, oh boy, today really blossomed.
11 Challenges this project is for. That may be a record for me, I'll have to start keeping better track of that statistic. There are a couple of challenge blogs that are new to me, I found them looking at Funkie Junkie's card on Pile It On! , you should hop over to her blog for some beautiful inspiration. I've become a big fan of hers.
I used my new Copic Spica Glitter pens, just love them, and tried to grunge up the hardware that goes with the Designer Label. It took the Sharpie gold paint pen great, but couldn't get any ink to stick, but I like it anyway. Not to shabby an endeavor for a quick little uppy from the sick bed.
Supplies: Papers: rust paper unknown, DCWV The Glitter Pets Stack, Stampin Up-Whisper White, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink: Jet Black,ColorBox Chalk ink-green and blue, Copic Spica glitter pens, Sharpie Paint Pen-gold, Stamps: Hot Off The Press-Flights of Fancy, Stampin Up-hodgepodge hardware, Sizzlits-Window & Frame Making Set, The Paper Studio Spare Parts-lock & key brads, gold jewelry cord, my sentiment generated in Print Master 11, Stampin Up-designer label punch, pop dots, glue dots.

Hug Tag

I'm not sure I like this little tag very much, it's my messy hand writing job, maybe I'll get a hug and the saying could stay, but the hand writing could go, but it's made and I think it will fit into 8 Challenges. My beginning with this project is for Tuesday Taggers and they want us to leave a link to their very supportive sponsor The Craft Barn (lots of good stuff), I also wanted to mention that I got this set of stamps off the front of the January issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. There is a very interesting article inside about the creator of this stamp set, Adam Pescott.
I built on with colors and then the rest of the challenges are pretty obvious from their titles in my list below:
Supplies: Manilla tag, Stamps: Adam Pescott-Pet Stamps, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, Ranger Distress Ink-aged mahogany, peeled paint, Ranger Adirondack Earthtones Stream, Stampin Up-blender pen, Le PlumeII marker-yellow, Stampin Up marker-crushed curry, melon mambo, CTMH markers-grey flannel, olive, sunflower, chocolate, Michael's trim, Studio G-ribbon, butterfly peel-off sticker.

Guest Designer/Pink & Cream

A great good morning to everybody. I've got a little bit of clapping to do this morning. First, I have been chosen to be Guest Designer for the month of February at Creative Inspirations. They post a new challenge each Wednesday morning, their challenges are varied and always keep your little grey cells creatively sparking. This week's challenge is Pink & Cream, so if you are here viewing take a few minutes to hop over to their blog and check out what the talented Design Team has come up with this week. In honor of me being chosen Guest Designer I've decided to give away a little Blog Candy package, after you have hopped over to Creative Inspirations to check out all the yummy pink and cream samples, hop back over here and leave me a comment telling me what you see that all our cards have in common besides pink and cream.
Second, just a little more clapping, Riley and her team at The Color Dare chose my Celebrate the Day Cupcake card with the puffy frosting for an Honorable mention for last week's challenge. Thank You girls! It is amazing and wonderful to me for my cards and projects to be chosen from all the other amazing talent that enters these challenges. To be judged and found worthy by your peers is what keeps artists and crafters creating and continually being able to step up their quality of creativity.
I'm entering this card in The Pink Elephant Challenge also, because I used one of their previous sketches and their challenge this week just happens to be: All About Pink-In Honor of Ella. They are having a Birthday Blog Hop next week so hop over there and check out all the fun they have got in store for everyone.
Whew, that's about it for me for now, back to bed for awhile, upper respiratory has got me again, a shot and 10 more days of antibiotics yesterday at Dr, hoping this kills it out this time.

Christmas Baubles

My 3rd card didn't come into reality until after midnight, but I'm posting it anyway, because I think it turned out very striking, and a good way to start out February, black, red and cream. You will be seeing Christmas cards every month because I'm going to try to be a loyal poster to Bah! Humbug! I'll have my Christmas cards made and be able to concentrate on other fun activities.
Hobby Lobby had this Magic of the Season Paper Pack with stamps to match at Christmas and it really sang my name from the shelf. I hardly ever buy a pack of paper that I like all the patterns, but this pack is different, I didn't find one pattern I didn't like. I know we're supposed to keep up with where and from whom we get our supplies, but this pretty red paper that I punched the bauble out of has been in my stash for quite some time and I don't remember where I got it and it doesn't have a tag on the back.(Sorry)
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Cream Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Hobby Lobby-Magic of the Season Paper Pack, red crinkly unknown, Stamps: See-D's-Christmas Messages#50319, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Stampin Up-ornament punch, Martha Stewart-embossed trefoil heart punch, gold craft cord, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, Sharpie Paint Pen-gold, pop dots.
