3-D Cupcake

Ladies and Gentlemen, drum roll please, I broke out my little sewing machine. This was my first attempt at sewing on a card, I won't point out the flaws because I think the overall card came out pretty neat.
At Crazy 4 Challenges we are challenged to CASE one of the DT cards. I picked Jessie's card, don't forget to click on her name and see some really neat cards at her place. I also decided to incorporate the sketch from CCEE Stampers, so my card is very similar to Jessie's, but not exactly. The other 2 challenges that this card is for will have clickable links in the list below, they are self explanatory.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Basic Grey Cupcake Paper Pad, Stamp: Hero Arts-Birthday Messages, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Stampin Up-Sizzlits Big Bold Cupcakes, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Classic Scallop Circle Lg., Mark Richard's Metal stickers, small beads, spiral clips unknown, Stampin Up-Modern Label punch, ribbon-Michael's, Fiskars shape cutter template-Circles-1, Sakura Gelly Roll pen-clear star, pop dots.

Time Flies Box

Today was a red letter day for me. First, I found out that my Moon Beams cards was picked for the Top 5 at Tuesday Morning Sketches , a big Thank You to Melissa and her team. Then, I went to the mailbox and found that Nancie Waterman at Vamp Stamp News chose my B-G-S Birthday Joy Fold card to be in the May 2010 issue. If you are not familiar with Vamp Stamp hop over and check it out. Nancy always has informative articles, and tips with some neat advertisers for shows and products. One reason I'm so honored to be featured in Vamp Stamp News is that I admire Nancy so much, she does all the work of putting out this publication herself, and in my opinion she does a fabulous job. Now, if everyone on the planet can't hear me clapping they must have cotton in their ears. This is so exciting, I've now been published in 3 different magazines and I'm in the process of getting cards ready to go out again for consideration.
I was so busy being excited I only got one project done today for  1 Challenge:
  • "Just Us Girls" Challenge    JUGS30-Template Challenge--I went through my case of Coluzzle template and came up with this little box. I already have one of the guys picked out to birthday gift it to.
Supplies: Coluzzle box template, Papers: Graphic 45-A Proper Gentleman Collection, blue-CTMH, Stampin Up-Whisper White, Stamp: Artful Inkables-Steampunk Sarah, Sentiment-computer generated, Stampin Up-1 1/2" and 1 1/4" circle punches, Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Sharpie poster paint pen-gold, Sakura gelly roll pen-gold, metal rim tag-unknown, gold cord, ribbon-Offray.

Pink Poinsettia Easel

This card turned out so pretty in person and was very difficult to photograph. Unfortunately, I can not remember the ladies blog I saw where she did this technique of gold embossing on Stampin Up Shimmery White card stock. I think she painted hers with re-inkers or H2O's. I have to say Thanks to all of you talented people out there who have done this I just love the look and here is my attempt. I painted my poinsettias with Distress Inks.

Spiral PopUp Flowers

This card was challenging for sure. Once you learn how to cut your spiral, putting it together is not a problem. The challenging part is figuring out colors and what to put on you spiral inside. I always seem to do Project Tuesday on Sunday and I'm very late tonight, so without further explanation my list of challenges will have to explain themselves. I always make them clickable so you can visit the challenges I enter and not only see how I have interpreted the challenge, but alot of other very talented artists as well.

Shaker CASE

Just Scraps is asking us to look in all the magazines we buy for inspiration and CASE a card.
I have to do a shameless plug here--since I got published in the April issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine I decided to CASE a shaker card from their March issue, which has a really good article with tips and tricks to shaker cards. In going through some of my stash looking for a template for another challenge I'm working on, I found that I have a Coluzzle Shaker Boxes Template, couldn't have been easier to make this little box. I don't think ProvoCraft makes Coluzzle anymore, so it's a good thing I stocked up when I did. I go between my Coluzzle templates and my Fiskars Shape Cutting templates all the time.
For the Recipe Challenge at ABC Design Blog I used my Stampin Up Scallop Trim border punch, 2 stamps from the Hero Arts set Birthday Messages, and my 3 embellishments are: confetti, ribbon, brads.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Red Square Card Blank, Papers: Basic Grey 6X6 Cupcake paper pad, rest of papers from scrap stash, piece of clear transparency, Stamps: Hero Arts-Birthday Messages, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Stampin Up-Scallop Trim border punch, Coluzzle Shaker Boxes Template, Birthday Confetti-Hobby Lobby, ribbon-Offray, CTMH-blue brads, glue dots.

Moon Beams

First, I want to give Susan at 52-Card Pickup some hope she's able to get some relief for her arm soon. Also, a big thank you for featuring the inside and out side of my card from last week's challenge. This card  is another outside inside card to get the whole value of the design. Susan is so right, to every time there is a purpose and while we're waiting for those purposes to be known we must not forget to dream some fabulous purposes to aspire to when the time comes.
I think this is a retired Stampin Up set but I just love it and find myself using it quite often.

Thoughtful Medallion

Well, as usual there is at least one boo boo on my card. In going for subtle with the sentiment it was to subtle, should have stamped it darker, but I didn't want it to over power the medallion, silly me. When I saw the color challenge at The Color Throwdown I thought of this CTMH paper. They probably don't have it anymore but it was one of my all time favorites. The photo doesn't really do this card justice, in person it is all very, again the word subtle, but that's what it is subtle.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: 5" X 7" Soft Suede Card Blank, Papers: CTMH, Stampin Up, Stamps: S*E*I-Juliette, Stampin Up-Whimsical Words, Ink: Stampin Up-Bordering Blue, Soft Suede, CTMH-Z2133 Lilac Mist, Brilliance-Galaxy Gold, VersaMark Ink, Stampin Up clear embossing powder, Craf-T Products-Metallic Rub-ons, Stampin Up-Textured Impressions Finial Press, Fiskars-Scallop Sentiment border punch, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, decorative brad, small heart brad, ribbon-Offray, glue dots, pop dots.

Wonderful Mother

Simply elegant. These little spiral flowers are brought to you via a You Tube tutorial by Miss Calia Yang. They start out as 1", 1 1/2", 1 3/4" circles. Cut your circle into a spiral, then start twirling and glue at the bottom. There are several versions of how to do these flowers on You Tube. These were my first attempt, so they couldn't be easier. She shows you how to punch the leaves out of a circle also, pretty cool. I didn't bling mine up, just tipped edges of flower with a little bit of Honey ink, and the leaves with Old Olive. Stamped the pretty border stamp and the wonderful mother, batta bing, batta bang, you're done.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Paper: Stampin Up-Summer Sun, Certainly Celery, Stamps: Stampin Up-Well Scripted, S*E*I-Juliette, Ink: Stampin Up-Old Olive, CTMH-Z2162 Honey, TomBow Multi Liquid Glue.

Dragon Magic

If you're a fan of fairy tales, adventure, and magic you'll like this tag. A lot of silhouettes have been being used lately so when Tuesday Taggers called for Dragons, Dragons  Everywhere this came to mind. I just had to find the right silhouette and as usual my trusty PrintMaster11 came to the rescue, only this was an orange and black dragon, so I printed it off, colored it with a black sharpie marker and Wah, Lah, a dragon silhouette, a little bit of fussy cutting so I could just stick him down in 2 or 3 places so his tail and whiskers would stick out, pretty cool. Tim Holtz Distress Inks, gold shimmer mist for the background and I also finally used the Rose Gold Mica Gloss ink from JudiKins, to stamp the flourishes. It's very versatile and washes up with water(I like that). And you just have to love those fibers from the $ Store.
The Taggers are sponsored this week by Tanda Stamps she's got some neat stuff at her place so don't hesitate to hop over and take a look, you might find something you can't live without.

Penquin Greetings

Well, my lights washed out the Gable Green, that's what the penquins are printed on. They are from PrintMaster 11 then I stamped the tree in the middle from Fun & Fast Notes stamp set (Stampin Up).This is for World Penquin Day, April 25th., who knew? Going Places

A little story first. I got a little black volkswagon when I started off to college, summer semester, fall semester, then I decided to get married. Thought the car would go with me to Virginia. My Dad said No, back in the olden days we did what our parents said. He and my sister took it over and the hip guy my Dad was he put hot pink flowers all over it. Needless to say, when I saw this stamp at Shirley's 2 Girls I had to have it. I just had to get the hot pink flowers on it. Then the whole time I was making this card I was singing the Chuck Berry tune, "No Particular Place To Go". You know the one, " Ridin' along in my automobile...." My, My, those were the days.

Flip Birthday

This card is for 1 Challenge:
Cards For Men    Challenge#8-Fancy Folds

When I saw this challenge I've been a regular. We've got lots of men and boys in our family.
I got this Flip Card Kit at one of the rubber stamping shows I went to last year and 3 or 4 of the cube stamps to go with it. It's from Repeat Impressions They already have the flip tab cut and scored for you, then it's a matter of stamping and being puzzle minded to read the instructions and get it glued together correctly. Once you've done one, it's pretty simple after that. Fits nicely in a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" envelop. It's hard to get a good photo of  however. You see the beginning and the end, to see the middle you'll have to click on Repeat Impressions to see the 35 sets of flip stamps they have.
Supplies: Flip Card Kit, Stamps: Repeat Impressions, Autumn Leaves-Light the Candles, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, CTMH-Z2136 Ocean, Brilliance-Starlite Silver, Spica Glitter pens, Sakura Gelly Roll pen-Clear Star, ribbon-American Crafts.

Altered Sherlock CD

This one is a little complicated, so I'm going to kind of tell the process and then I will list the challenges with links to click over and see the rest of the amazing talent that participates in all these challenges.
First, I have to give credit to a phone consult with my friend Linda for some jump start ideas on how to do the detective theme. I've been a fan of Sherlock Holmes since I was a teenager. Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce were always the quintessential Holmes and Watson, but I think Downey Jr. and Law are going to be good 21st century replacements.
This started out life as a CD. Lined both sides with upholstery cord. Cut my designer paper to correct circle size. Printed the silhouette from Google images cut in oval. Went around the oval with pinking hearts border punch run through the crimper. Mounted the violin sticker on gold paper and cut around. Stamper the watch on gold paper and embossed with black embossing powder, cut it out. Printed the Holmes banner from PrintMaster 11, cut it out. Printed the sentiment in PrintMaster 11 cut it with oval Coluzzle template, matted it on black oval. Attached a tab to the back of the silhouette covered it with a black oval and attached it to the back of the sentiment, creating my mini flap card, used pop dots to raise it off the surface and mounted the 3 accessories around it. Oh, yes, punched the hole in the CD with a leather punch because it was all to fat to get my crop-a-dile to work. Carefully set the eyelet and threaded the ribbon, tied the loop then tied a bow around that. The little glob you see on the inside is a removeable glue dot to hold the flap closed temporarily for photographing and I forgot to remove it when I took a picture of the inside.
Whew, this is the first CD I've ever altered, hope you like my effort.
5 Challenges:
Supplies: Old CD, Papers: Basic Grey pattern paper-boxer, Stampin Up-Whisper White and basic black, gold unknown, Stamp: unmounted clock unknown, Ink: VersaMark Ink, CTMH black embossing powder, Stickopotamus-Vellum Sticker, Fiskars crimper, Stampin Up-Pinking Hearts border punch, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, eyelet-CTMH, pop dots.

Destiny Heart

Paint swatches, who would have thought they would work to advantage on a card front? Hop over to Artful Inkables and check out their new stamp set with peacock feathers and paint swatches. I was digging around in my art supply closet and came across some unmounted stamps that truly did  go to the bottom. It was a very happy find because this heart and the word stamps are from a very neat set of heart stamps from Invoke Arts . It's called Funky Hearts. I wasn't to sure about the paint swatches, but overall I really like the way this card turned out.

Do Not Open Tag

This tag is for my ladies at Bah! Humbug! I feel like they are new friends. I think I found their challenge blog on the first or second challenge, shortly there after they challenged all of us to be loyal followers with promises of delicious prizes and accolades at the end of the year, and surprise prizes throughout the year. The prizes are nice, but by now you all know that I'm a comment and accolade hog :-)
I was going for a classy elegant kind of look and as usual the photo does not do the end product justice. I scoured the Christmas wrapping container for a pretty hunter green bag which I thought I had, but didn't come up with it, so around the 1st of December I'll find one fill it with a really nice gift and gold tissue attach this tag and Bingo--gorgeous gift.
Before I move on, I'm doing some more clapping today. I found out I got a Top 3 at One Stitch At A Time Challenge blog on my Altered Frame, and I've already grabbed the badge for my side bar. I'm really happy about this win because I really liked the way that frame turned out. It takes a lot of work and time to run these challenges and I really appreciated getting to participate and meet so many talented and nice people.

Just Be Magical

This has been a day filled with ups and downs in the general living dept. In the art dept. I get to start off with some clapping today and today I needed some. Mr. Randon picked my Fairy Present card for 1st place over at Kelly Jo's Stamp Pad for her Color Chef Challenge #46. I've played in Kelly Jo's challenges for about a year now. I keep going back because she inspires me with her sharp, clean designs. I got a nifty badge to put on my side bar.
I've been putting this card together all day. I feel like a Jack-in-the-Box, finally everything settled and my goodness I think my little magical fairy turned out kind of pretty.

Nurse Nora

Meet Nurse Nora. I got her from All That Scraps , she is by C.C. Designs. I purchased her as a digi, but I think you can get her in rubber also. I just happen to be trying to get on the digi band wagon. I've also pulled out my Bic MarkIt pens(which are alcohol based just like Copics)and have mixed them with some light Copics because they are all pretty strong, but I have found they are blending together quite nicely. Especially after a few You Tube classes.  I would be one of those people who observe from afar, do some research, dabble around then seek help if it's not working out. Being semi-house bound with Mom now it's a good thing that's how I've always done things. Some people might call that Winging It! I've always liked to dabble in all kinds of techniques, so the digis, Copics, and Bic's have been a fun learning curve. I think I have discovered why everybody loves the Copics, as they dry they come up a nice soft, clear, crisp image. Those words don't sound like they go together, but when you see your finished piece it's a very striking effect.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Matte Gold card blank 4" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up, Stamp: digi Nurse Nora-All That Scraps, Rubbernecker-Bandage Box, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Sharpie Poster Paint pen-gold, Copic markers, Bic MarkIt markers, Spica Glitter pens,EK Success 1 1/2" circle punch, pop dots.

Tri-Fold Friends

A Tri-Fold Card so you get 3 photos. It took me a little longer on this one than I had anticipated, not because it was to difficult, but choosing papers, stamps, sizing and printing the sentiment in the circle to fit just right most of the afternoon is gone. Let's see, that's right, that's called designing. Then when you put the last tiny touch on it, sit back to look and say, "Now that's darn cute." The afternoon was well worth it.
I got the instructions for this from Splitcoast Stampers in the resource section. Beate Johns has quite a few tutorials on there. She gives great written instructions with pictures and usually there is a video at the end also.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Papers: heidi grace designs-Reagan's Closet/Decor Circles, Stamps: Autumn Leaves-flowers stamps, Thinking of You unknown, Stampin Up-Sweet Centers, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, CTMH-Z2155 Topiary, Stampin Up-Kiwi Kiss, CTMH markers, Spellbinder Nestabilities-Classic Scallop Circle, EK Success-small corner rounder, Stampin Up-slit punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, Fiskars shape cutting template-Circles 1, ribbon-Offray, glue dots.

Sq. Birthday Goodies

First post of the day, if things go like I have planned there will be a few more.
I started with Technostampers sketch and The Color Throwdown colors and then went to my scrap box. It's getting quite full so for the next few days I'm going to try to whittle it down. Consequently, I don't always remember where the papers have come from, except I do keep my Stampin Up papers separate, or try to.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: 5" Square card blank, Papers: from my scrap stash, Stamp: Fiskars-how many candles, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Spica Glitter pens, Stampin Up circle punches, Hobby Lobby-ribbon, birthday greeting brads, pop dots.

Blog Candy at The Pixie Cottage

Isn't he cute? This is a digi stamp Waking Up To Spring by one of my new favorite artists-ArTish-I love her name. Her designs can be found at The Pixie Cottage. If you haven't found their blog hop over and take a browse around. They've got neat challenges and lots of other talented artists designing for them. You can find lots of different styles of stamps, so I'm sure you will find something that suits your fancy.
The neat thing about hopping over this week is Michelle is very generously offering some blog candy with easy instructions to follow to get your name in the hat. Don't delay, she will be drawing 3 winners on April 15th, they will each get their favorite stamp. This one is my favorite and you all know, I love to win.
Thanks for stopping by,
