Chocolate Cake Wishes

I discovered this week that Operation Write Home has a card challenge blog also. Sunday they offered a sketch and today they are having a Mid Week Throwdown. I've added the challenge blog to my side bar on those 2 days, if you don't already know about this hop over and check it out. Another fun place to play and a worthy cause on top of it.
This is an easel card for Always Playing With Paper and as you can see my favorite frosting-Liquid Applique. I got a new pack of birthday paper from The Paper Studio-Birthday Extravaganza so that's where I pulled my colors from. This will make a perfect birthday card for one of the guys.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: 4 1/2" X 5 1/2" Easel Card, Papers: Stampin Up-Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla, The Paper Studio Birthday Extravaganza, Stamps: Stampin Up-Fun & Fast Notes, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Ink: CTMH-Z2111 Chocolate, Stampin Up-Bermuda Bay, CTMH markers, Liquid Applique-White, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-Clear Star, Coluzzle shape cutter template-Circle, Fiskars border punch-Scallop Sentiment, small corner rounder, StampinUp-Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, make a wish brad unknown, ribbon-Michael's, pop dots.

Soar Butterfly

The lighting on this doesn't do it justice. The two background papers are more blue green and blend with the alcohol ink background under the butterfly, but again, we have to say photo challenged. Maybe the challenge that is monochromatic will cut me some slack.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White card blank 4" X 5 1/2" The Paper Studio, Papers: Best Occasions Textured Card Stock, Stampin Up-glossy card stock, Stamp: Studio G-Kolette Hall stamp, Ink: Momento Ink-Tuxedo Black, Craf-T Products Inc Metallic Rub-Ons, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-Stardust, Stampin Up-Sizzix Bigz Top Note die, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Jules Jewells, Spellbinders Nestabilities-Labels One, ribbon-Offray, EK Success small corner rounder.

Bar-B-Que Apron

"Just Us Girls" Challenge provided us with a template from Mirkwood Designs this week. I've decided to join in on Polka Doodles-Boy's Birthday by making this a big boy's birthday, we do love it when those big boy's grill. My color choices are from Tuesday Throwdown-Black, White and a Splash of Color. I was given a big pack of this red gingham paper by a generous friend and this apron just begged to be made out of red gingham. All the "quote" stamping on this project is created in My Digital Studio. I think that would be considered digi stamping, still getting used to the digi world. The Big Day, and the tag on tag with the sentiment(from only ovals stamp set) and riding hood red grid paper were created in MDS printed off and cut out. I hardly ever use eyelets, but I broke out my Crop-A-Dile and set 5 on this project, quick and easy.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: Template from Mirkwood Designs, Papers-CTMH-red gingham, Stampin Up-Basic Black, white and red card stock from scrap box, Stamps-MDS, black eyelets-Jo-Ann's, ribbon-Offray.

Mermaid Shaker

When I saw this free digi offered at I Did It Creation Challenge Blog I knew immediately that I wanted to get out my alcohol inks and try a watery background. I have to say that this is just about my favorite attempt at using these inks. I know, I know, Tim Holtz is an expert, but for me I have to say I have discovered most really neat arty tools and supplies take practice, practice to master. Not a bad thing, when you love art. I say this for novice art people. They see a new technique, or supply demo-ed and they get disappointed when they get home and it doesn't turn out the first time they try. We've all said, "Well, that worked at the show." Novices don't throw out those neat supplies and tools you bought, keep practicing, you will get it, and don't forget there are really no wrongs in art, just happy accidents.
I also got to use my most favorite chunky glitter, if you didn't catch on from the title this is a shaker card, and for some reason this fiber reminds me of seaweed so it always ends up on my underwater cards.
I'm doing a quick edit here because in looking through my challenge list I discoverd Crafty Carmakers challenge is to use inks to create a background(Inky Fingers). Since I just posted this yesterday I think it will be legal to enter their challenge with this card and my fingers were blue and green when I finished inking up the glossy card stock. I can't seem to keep the alcohol inks on the little felt pads and the paper.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: White 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" square card blank-Papers: White card stock unknown, Stampin Up-Bermurda Bay, glossy card stock, Stamps: free digi from Fanyella, Ink: Stampin Up-Bermuda Bay, Ranger Alcohol Inks-Stream, Stonewashed, Pesto, Meadow, Mica Color Metallic Water Color Paint, Impression Obsession-shake it pouches, DeJa Views-wave ruler, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter-Teal, Recollections-pearl stickers, fiber-Offray.

Flip Flop Card

I discovered a book titled Paper Everyday by: Laurie Dewberry, there are lots of cards, invitations, projects, and albums to wet your creative appetite. In the book this was a one dimensional invitation. I folded my paper on a crease and cut around the template I got from the back of the book, leaving a couple of places uncut on the fold.
I generated the sentiments on my drink mat in MDS, should of made Party Hearty! bigger, but still learning to manipulate things in this software. All in all, a pretty cute, quick card for a fun summer birthday.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: Flip Flop Template, Papers: Stampin Up-Island Oasis Designer Series Papaer, yellow paper unknown, Stamps: Stampin Up-Tropical Party, Sunny Days, Party Hearty created in MDS, Fiskars-how many candles, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, Color Box Chalk Ink-Blue Lagoon, Lipstick Red, LePlumeII-cherry red, ribbon-Am. High Heel Swing

This is a swing card for Project Tuesday. I've seen quite a few of these, but never attempted to make one. With the good instructions from Dawn Griffths it was a breeze. I just love the way the shoe turned out, running it through the embossing folder and going around the edge with a marker very carefully really set it off. I wore a lot of shoes like this in my high school and college years, but that's a long time ago and now I go for a much more comfortable walking experience.
A quick edit: I always forget to put in a link to the current sponsor at Tuesday Taggers, this week it's the wonderful Craft Barn, pop over and have a shop.
8 Challenges:
Supplies: Finished card 4 1/2" X 5 1/2", Papers: Stampin Up-Pattern Packs II, III, Blush Blossom, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Stamps: Stampin Up-Itty Bitty Bits, sentiment and tag on inside-MDS, CTMH-C1257 Happy Birthday, Ink: Stampin Up-Old Olive, Positively Pink, shoe template-PaperCraft Inspirations magazine, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Textile, Martha Stewart lacy border punch, Stampin Up-Boho Blossoms punch, small pink brads unknown.

Coral Glimmer Roses

I've had this stamp laying on my work table for a few weeks now, trying to decide what to do with it. This sketch and these colors reminded me of Victorian wall paper for some reason and how the Victorians liked to mix lots of patterns and they did a lot of decorating with silhouette images. This stamp has kind of a collage silhouette effect to me.
About the time I was purchasing the Shadow Mists I used on a card earlier today, I was also researching other glimmer mists. A lot of companies have come out with lots of versions. Unfortunately, I did not write down the ladies name that I watched her YouTube video on using Winsor & Newton Iridescent Medium and dye reinkers to make your own glimmer mist. I sprayed the 3 roses before I started working on the card to give them time to dry and then when I was all finished I bit the bullet propped up my card in my spray box(so you don't get big blobs)gave it a couple of sprays over the whole thing. Wish you could see in the photo the sparkly shine of the whole thing. Just the right added touch to this card. I mixed CTMH Sorbet dye reinker with the Iridescent Medium. Just a note to the wise, after each use, take your spray lid off and wash it out until you can spray clear water through, otherwise the medium will dry in the sprayer and it won't spray. I found out the hard way you can't get lazy when you're experimenting.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Hot Hues, Papers: Stampin Up-Very Vanilla, Ruby Red, Patterns Pack III, My Mind's Eye, Marco's Paper, Stamp: Penny Black-3796K Words Sweet, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, Homemade Glimmer Mist, Coluzzle Shape cutter-Oval, Martha Stewart-fern punch, Fiskars decorative corner punch, roses unknown, ribbon-Michael's, sew machine with gold thread, glue dots.

P & B Birthday Wishes

The embossing folder I used on the black card got covered up more than I thought it would, but it has butterflies in amongst the swirls. Oh well, it still added some interest. This card is very straight forward, stamping with plain black ink, embossing the card, cutting the mats, punching the sentiment, tying the bow. All done.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Black Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: CTMH, Stamp: Stampin Up-Watercolor Trio, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Stampin Up-punches-lg. oval, scallop oval, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Jules Jewells, ribbon-Michael's.

Dragonfly

I ordered a wonderful ink storage unit from Mother Rubber Art Stamps so when I was browsing her site I also ordered some wonderful Moon Shadow Mist sprays. They come as a powder in a spray bottle then you add water and shake. This was my first attempt with Buccaneer Bay Blue on a piece of  8 1/2" X 11" white card stock. All the pieces you see on this card were cut out of that one piece of card stock. Needless to say I'm very pleased with the outcome.
I've also had this set of Spellbinder Shapabilities for almost 2 years. For some reason I just couldn't find the right time to use them. I guess this dragonfly was just waiting for this card. As you can see I love metallics. While the dragonfly was still in the die I rubbed some of my Metallic Rub-Ons over the openings, peeled him out and finished him off with more around the edges. Oh, you're not seeing double, I on purpose off set the flourish stamp by first stamping it then moving over slightly and stamping again without cleaning my stamp.
1 Challenge:
Supplies: White 5 1/2" square card blank, Papers: Best Occasions Textured Cardstock, White card stock unknown, Stamps: Hero Arts-CL156, Inkadinkado-60-30159 Spring Garden, Inks: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Mother Rubber-Moon Shadow Mist Buccaneer Bay Blue, Craf-T Products, Inc.-Metallic Rub-Ons, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-silver, Spellbinders Shapeabilities-Flying Beauties, McGill 1 9/16" square punch, Coluzzle shape cutting template-square, pop dots.

Make A Sweet Wish

I have to say when I pulled this week's challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges: Strawberries & Cream, I was for sure challenged. For some reason strawberries throw me a curve. I'm allergic to them in real life so I guess that's why I haven't quite been able to get a handle on them for cards. However, I came across a magazine this week--Paper Craft Inspirations. It's one of the good UK magazines that I can sometimes pick up at JoAnn's. Just happened to have an article by: Jacqui Eccleson making polymer clay strawberries. I got out my heart punch, my tiny black beads, and Amy's Glittering Glue and Wah Lah!  Strawberries! I colored my white button brads with a yellow Sharpie marker a couple of flower punches and some paper flowers appear.
Linda-The Funkie Junkie told me that when I started sewing on my cards I wouldn't be able to quit, she may be right, this card just screamed for some sewing. I hope I improve with practice.
I also have to say my new My Digital Studio software is going to take the place of my trusty PrintMaster11. I made the Certainly Celery circle and inserted the sentiment, printed it out and then cut it out with my Spellbinder Scallop Nestabilities. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but I'm determined to master MDS.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White 5 1/2" square card, Papers: CTMH, The Paper Company, Stampin Up, Stampin Up-MDS, Ink: Stampin Up-Old Olive, Making Memories-button brads, yellow Sharpie marker, Spellbinder Nestabilities-Lg. Classic Scallop Circle, EK Success-Lg and Sm. 6 petal flower punches, heart punch, Stampin Up-Boho Blossoms punch, Stampin Up-Sizzlits Little Leaves, tiny black beads, Amy's Glittering Glue, pop dots, glue dots.

Summer Vacation

I am so excited about this card. I used Stampin Up's My Digital Studio Sentimental Journey Design Kit to create the papers and stamps used on this card. All digital except for the ribbon, brads, and my little cog on the tag. I punched it with my new Cog Punch also Stampin Up, and of course the inks I used to distress the luggage tag in the middle.
At Our Creative Corner we were to choose a Design Team member and CASE one of their cards, but change at least 2 things. I chose Linda-The Funkie Junkie. I've been an admirer of hers' for a while now. She forced me to get out my sewing machine and sew on my cards. Alas, I'm not as proficient as she is, but I have made a valiant effort not to shame her in my endeavor. I chose her Happy Travels card from June 23rd. I didn't pull her card onto my blog so you'll have to read my list of things I changed and then hop over to her blog and see not only the Happy Travels card, but also the rest of her wonderful art. I used her sketch, but changed the papers, stamps, I used copper metallic thread to sew with, colors slightly. I think that's all. Kind of like it, but slightly different. Thanks for all your inspiration Linda!
The other challenge I'm entering this in is Daisy Doodles Callenges, they use digi's only in their challenges and the one for this week is "Summertime". I'm going to use this card to welcome home some friends from their summer vacation.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: 5 1/2" square card Very Vanilla, Papers: Stampin Up-Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla, Stamps and all other papers created in My Digital Studio, Ink: VersaMark Pen, Sakura Copper Paint pen, Ranger Distress Inks-frayed burlap, peeled paint, broken china, Stampin Up clear embossing powder, American Crafts-small copper brads, ribbon-Michael's and Offray, Stampin Up punches-1 1/4" circle, Ex.Lg. Cogs, Horizontal, EK Success sm. corner rounder, Fiskars-Lg. circles and Rectangle shape cutter templates, glue dots, pop dots.

Ice Cream Circles

The sketch at The Sweet Stop this week has a spin: decorate the inside of  your card. I always finish the inside of my cards I just haven't shown a picture of one in a long time. I send out a lot of cards so I have to be prepared, and that's kind of like a do over to me if  I have to go back and do the inside at a later time. I don't really like do overs.
Hope I made the deadline on "Just Us Girls", guess we'll see in a few, that's where the ice cream cone comes from.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, patterned paper unknown, Stamps: Stampin Up-Itty Bitty Backgrounds, DeNami Design-Ice Cream cones, Autumn Leaves-AL2745 Light The Candles, Ink: Mememto-Tuxedo Black, Stampin Up-Pink Pirouette, CTMH markers,  Fiskar shape cutter template-Ovals-1, it also cut the scallops, Decorative Scissors-scallop, Am. A Child's Christmas

I pulled this lovely vintage Christmas picture from my PrintMaster 11 program. A time when all toys didn't have to do something to be fun and time didn't seem to rush by in such a hurry.
You won't find any stamping on this card, but a lot of dry embossing, and inking, and a little cutting. I didn't have Kiwi Kiss paper so I used Certainly Celery with Kiwi Kiss ink and gold metallic rub-on.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Ink: Stampin Up-Bermuda Bay, Kiwi Kiss, Craf-T Products, Inc.-Metallic Rub-ons-gold, Cuttlebug embossing folders-Wen's Window, Textile, Stampin Up-Scallop Trim border punch, ribbon-Offray, pop dots, glue dots.

RWB Star B-Day

Red, White, and Blue always turns out so neat and crisp. I've got a couple of guys with Birthdays around July 4th so this will be perfect for one of them. I have to give credit to my new blog friend, Monika, I used her little squiggly doodled pattern behind the big star. It added just the right touch to my card. Thanks, Monika.
How about that big star? I used Dazzles from Hot Off The Press. You adhere them to different papers, plain or patterned, cut around the edges and stack them up. Makes a pretty dramatic effect. I made a card back at Christmas that was stunning, even if I do say so myself, but you know by now how I do love to clap myself.
And speaking of stars, you are seeing double--the big Star and my star paper.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Generations Paper Stackers, Stamps: PrintWorks-Q002Great Birthday, Ink: VersaMark Ink Pad, CTMH silver embossing powder, Hot Off the Press-Dazzles Star, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-Silver, small star brad-The Paper Studio Spare Parts, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, pop dots.

Vintage Bookmark

Isn't she pretty. We have a picture of my Grandmother that is very similar to this image. This is one of the first images I won when I started winning challenges, it's from Magical Fortnightly Challenge.  She's just been waiting for the right project. Her head band, flowers and some of the border were lavender, so after I printed this off I heat set it then colored the parts I wanted blue with a Copic Marker. I don't know if you'll be able to tell, but the large flower on her head band is a little paper flower I had in my stash and I gave it some tints of blue with the same marker. The small heart doily I hit gently with the sponge and Broken China Distress Ink, sponged Whisper White with Broken China and Faded Jeans, touched the edges of the black tag with a silver pen, add the silver eyelet and Mulberry ribbon and silver ribbon, mounted the doily and my pretty girl. Wah-Lah! a Bookmark you can't miss.
2 Challenges:
Supplies: Tag stencil, Papers: Stampin Up-Basic Black, Whisper White, Image from Magical Fortnightly Challenge, Ink: Ranger Distress Ink-Broken China, Faded Jeans, Copic marker, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-silver, doily-Wilton, ribbon-Offray and Colorbok-Mulberry ribbon, small paper flower from stash unknown, eyelet unknown.

Step Ladder B-Day

Melissa at Tuesday Morning Sketches gave us a link to Dawn Griffiths YouTube instructions for this card. I think Dawn may be the Queen of YouTube instructions. I've been looking at her blog and her instructions even before I had a blog. Clear, concise, and she's always got a smile in her voice. I believe I CASed her step ladder card. I changed the image and colors, but the ticket punch and the modern label punch seemed perfect for this card. This scrap of ribbon has been laying on my work table for a while now begging to be used because it's the last of it's kind here at Gottheart Art, again a perfect match for this card.

Kindness

Susan at 52-Card Pickup this week blogged about appreciation, constructive criticism, which my husband is of the opinion there is only criticism either administered with kindness or hatefulness. After he told me that early on in our marriage I decided to go the kindness route, and down through the years I do believe I have a lot more friends than enemies. I do appreciate all the kind criticism I get and have learned to take it much better with maturity. All that being said I made this card for a friend of mine who is going through a hard time right now. She doesn't need any criticism for all the hard decisions she will have to make, but she does need a lot of kindness and compassion to get her through some hard times to come. Even though I can't be with her at this time in person, I hope when she receives this card she'll feel the hug I'm sending along with it.
Whew, that Susan, she does inspire deep thinking.

Fun In The Sun

I do believe Summer is officially upon on us. The temps here this week and next are going to stay right at 100. That just calls for some fun in the sun. This one's for all you guys out there who love to go the beach or the lake. Inside I have made this a Happy Birthday card for some of our family who lives down on the coast.
I'm kind of new to the I Did It Creations Challenge Blog, but Trees aWard Digi Stamps has generously given us all a free digi(Little Joey) to use for the challenge this week, we got a free digi last week also. If you're new to digi's this is a good way to practice with them to see if you like the concept.
I also have to put in you haven't heard much clapping lately, but you're hearing some today. This has been a big week for me: First, my Christmas Ted card won Top 3 at Technostamper. Second, I got the Summer 2010 Just Cards! magazine in the mail yesterday and they published one of my Halloween cards in this issue(now you can't see the jumping up and down, but you can pretend). Third, I won first place at I Did It Creations Challenge Blog and you'd never guess, but it was on my Christmas Ted card also. I think everybody liked that White Liquid Applique I used on the card. I did too, it makes great snow and frosting.
I'm going to have to add a section on my side bar for the publications I've been in, this is my 4th time to be published now. I just had to brag somewhere. All my followers are so generous with their nice comments that part of the accolades go to them also for all the continued encouragement they give me for the worthiness of my cards and projects. Thank you followers and friends.

Birdhouse

Monica at the Dutch Dare Card Challenges generously provided us with this free cute birdhouse template(Thank You, Monica) for their Birdhouse Card challenge. I have also included Paper Play Challenges on this one for their Home challenge.
I used quite a few punches on this card and my paper crimper on the leaves. It added some deminsion to the striped paper. After I punched the 2 step bird punch I used the image that was left like a stensil and chalked the bird and wing on two different patterned papers, then punched it out again. I also got to use my large wood grain background stamp, for some reason that is such a kick to see that wood grain on your paper.
2 Challenges:

CAS Birthday

I've been finding some fairly new challenge blogs on the block lately, some on my own and some I've been invited to join. It's always fun when your peers like your creations enough to invite you to join in, very good for the old ego.
I found Cas-tastic Wednesday Challenge--These will be Clean and Simple Cards, they said on their site lots of white space. Wow, when you're used to loading up your cards with papers and embellies, this will truly be a challenge.
Stampin' Royalty has a Picture Perfect Inspiration challenge this week. I chose to go with some of the colors I think are in the picture and the stamp set. Apricot Appeal, Blush Blossom, Old Olive, Melon Mambo.
Now onto my challenge list:

Sailing Fun

I don't consider myself very proficient at creating scenes, but I think I came up with a little beach scene here. For two small trees they were a little bit of a tussle. I colored the stamps with my juicy Marvy Brush markers, but when I stamped them they were spotty, next out came my PrismaColor pencils, and then, yes, you guessed it I cut them out. I stamped the sailboat in black and put in it my copier to make it smaller so it would fit in the background, but before everything went into place out came my chalks to create the sand, water, sky. Christmas Ted

This card came together rather quickly because of 3 compatible challenges this week.My sketch is from Technostamper, she was one of the first blogs I lurked around on and then she was one of the first challenges that I ever participated in, if you're not familiar with her click on the link below and check out her wonderful sketches and finished projects. Bah! Humbug! has Anything Goes and I Did It Creations Challenge Blog is Christmas in June Red and Green and they are also offering this cute free digi stamp from Crafty Pad Stamp Designs , very generous of them.
I used left over papers from last year's Christmas papers and I know you recognize the ever present White Liquid Applique. I searched and searched last year for White and now that I finally have a good stash it is showing up as snow and frosting. I like how puffy it gets and a little bit goes a long way.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: 6" Square Card Blank, Papers: Georgia Pacific-White card stock, others from stash, Stamp: free digi-Crafty Pad Stamp Designs, Copic Markers, Liquid Applique-White, pop dots.

Comfort Digi

Paper Piecing a Digi Stamp---who knew I would attempt that? Can't keep a challenge junkie down. This is my first attempt, it's a little messy, but I think passable for a first. This digi is from Squigglefly. This is a project for people who like to do some fussy cutting. That's not a problem for me, I'm from the olden days before fancy cutting tools. As you can see I intended to get my paper in the printer so the little hearts would be up and down, but just about that time the phone rang and by the time I got back to my project I forgot to double check. My husband says,"Measure twice, cut once." Well, he also says I'm always rushing through life, so I need to learn to take a breath and pay more attention. A teachable moment.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Georgia Pacific-White, GenerationsNow-Cardstock Stacker, paper on chair unknown, Stamps: Digi from Squigglefly, All Night Media-Dot Pattern, Hanna Stamps-Get Well, Ink: Stampin Up-Riding Hood Red, Copic markers, Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-White, ribbon-Hobby Lobby, Fiskars Shape Cutter template-Ovals-1, Fiskars border punch-Scallop Sentiment, pop dots.

Butterfly Smile

I got out needle and thread for my pleating challenge, and went with some Dew Drops and Spica Glitter Pen for some subtle dazzling for the Dazzle Us Challenge. I love how these colors came out together and I'm back this week at 52-Card Pickup with a smile for Susan. Have you ever noticed that when you speak kind words to people you are smiling to. I don't think kind words can be combined with a frown, so the inside of my card will be filled with some kind encouraging thoughts when I send it off in the mail.
5 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla, Kraft, Stamps: Inkadinkado-99520 Boxed Wishes, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Coffee, Stampin Up-Bermuda Bay, Spica Glitter Pen, Dew Drops, ribbon-Offray, flowers-Prima, Stampin Up-ticket punch, Stampin Up-Sizzix Texture Plate-Eyelet, small flower brads unknown, glue dots.

You're A Classic

I'm doing a quick edit here because over at CCEE Stampers their challenge this week is for Father's Day or a Male Birthday and since I just posted this last night I feel it's new enough for their challenge also. I don't think I can come up with a much better Father's Day card than this one. I just love these papers.
When you have papers as spectacular as this sometimes it's hard to stamp on them. I tried creating the Curly Label punch in My Digital Studio, but couldn't get the background to match the papers good enough. I'm still practicing with that software. I looked through my letter stamps, but finally decided since this card is for my Sons' to give to their Dad I would just use my handwriting. So, no stamping, but a little bit of distressing on the Curly Label with one of my CTMH distressing tools and some sepia ink, corner punches, and brads. Wah Lah, a classic.
This is for a new challenge I found, looks like it's going to be a fun one. A new challenge each Sunday, click on the link and check it out if you haven't already.
2 Challenge:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Graphic 45-A Proper Gentleman Collection, brown and cream unknown, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Sepia, Marvy-pointed edge punch, Stampin Up-Curly Label punch, Stampin Up-Sizzix Bigz Top Note Die, CTMH marker-brown bag, American Crafts-copper brads, pop dots.

Jade In The Sun

Monika from Creative With Monika has put me on to another challenge and they had this cute little girl as a free digi from Lauretta's Digital Stamps to use for their challenge this week. There's also a challenge to make your own DP, so I had 2 goes at this. I already had the sheet made that I cut the 3 strips from using the Ink, Spray, & Smash technique that I found on Splitcoast Stampers by: Faith Hofrichter aka Markie's Mom. Then I decided I wanted to carry on with a sea shell motif in the background so I stamped the sea shells on tan card stock with a 3 color Brilliance Ink Pad and heat set it. I hope you can see the shine of the shells.
This was a fun digi to color with my Copic markers and this time I used real sand that I got in a jar from Hobby Lobby, glued on with Amy's Glittering Glue(good stuff). I dabbed at the sand with a light tan marker because I had some white holes showing. Next time I will color under where the sand goes first with the light tan marker then I won't have holes showing.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" The Paper Studio, Papers: Georgia Pacific card stock, glossy card stock, tan card stock, Stamps: digi stamp-Lauretta's Digital Stamps, Inkadinkado-97521 Coastal/Maritime, Ink: Brilliance Pigment Ink Pad-Peacock, Copic markers, Sharpie Poster Paint markers-silver, Stampin Up-ticket punch, Michael Richards-silver metal dots, Sand-Hobby Lobby, pop dots.

Snow Carolers

Our cards for Bah! Humbug! this week were to use Acetate some way.
A little run down: I decided on the width of the blue card stock and the acetate to accommodate my carolers.  Temporarily attached the blue card stock and stamped the sentiment and the snowflakes. Stamped the carolers on the acetate, let dry, it takes a few minutes. Attached the acetate to the blue card stock with the silver snowflakes and attached that permanently to front of card.
Pretty simple for a very neat look. I think it's cool to see the snowflakes through the carolers.
1 Challenge:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Blue card stock unknown, Stamps: Clearly Wordsworth-V007 Carolers, The Paper Studio-Snowflakes, Ink: CTMH-4475-1 Archival Black, Z2130 Corn Blue, Grafix Transparent Plastic Sheets, silver snowflake brads unknown.

Peach Sparkle

This morning Monika who is on the Design Team at Digi Doodle Shop's Best came over and left a nice comment on my Bicycle B-Day card and invited me to check out the challenge over at DDSB. Of course, I couldn't pass up a good challenge. You've got 4 more days to enter so if you haven't checked out this challenge hop over and enter in, looks like a fun place.
I've used my new Bitty Buttons and my Itty Bitty punch, my new Boho Blossoms punch and the smallest heart on the Heart to Heart punch just fits this Bitty Heart button all from Stampin Up. Needed a little bit of lemon sparkle so out came the Yellow Stickles and I found this ribbon in my stash that looks like it has a little bit of  lemon stickles already on it. Martha's fern punch added just enough to my flowers to finish off that corner.
4 Challenges:
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Bazzil, Stampin Up-Whisper White, Vellum unknown, Stamps: Stampin Up-Charming, Ink: Adirondack Lights-Peach Bellini, CTMH-Z2152 Sunny Yellow, Versa Mark Ink Pad, Stampin Up-clear embossing powder, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Script, Martha Stewart's fern punch, Stampin Up-Boho Blossoma punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes, Stampin Up-Bitty Buttons, Ranger Stickles-Yellow, ribbon-Offray, gold jewelry cord, tiny flower brads unknown, glue dots.

Sand Castles!

I had a lot of fun with this card. I dyed my White Gala Glitz Art Glitter with Walnut Ink Tintz Tea Stain so I would get some shiny sand. Embossed the shells across the middle with tea dye Distress embossing powder so it would feel like sand. Colored my image with Copic markers, I'm kind of getting the hang of it. You can't really tell it in the picture but I accidentally picked up a piece of Shimmery White card stock in stead of Whisper White, so my girl has a sparkly tan in just the right light. Then I found these 2 little charms in my stash and Wah Lah I think just the right finishing touch.
3 Challenges:
Supplies: White Card Blank 5" X 6 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Shimmery White, Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad, Patterns Pack II, Apricot Appeal, Stamps: Shirley's 2 Girls-Mazie at the Beach, Inkadinkado-97521 Coastal/Maritime, Ink: Ranger Archival Ink-Coffee, Copic markers,  Fiber Scraps-walnut ink tintz tea stain, Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter-White, Ranger Distress embossing powder-tea dye, Michael Richard"s-metal dots, silver cord-Hobby Lobby, eyelets-unknown, charms-unknown, Stampin Up-ticket punch,  pop dots.

Bicycle B-Day

I recieved an e-mail from Inlinkz last week inviting me to join in on their first challenge. This is a new linking system that the challenges have gone to instead of Mr. Linky. I have enjoyed the use of Inlinkz because it shows thumbnails of all participants in the challenge. It's neat getting to see not only the design team samples but also how other people have interpreted the challenge. I will attempt to embed their post at the end, wish me luck.
I have made another card in the past using this stamp from Lili of the Valley with this same pad of papers. I was concerned that it would come out to much the same, but it's not like the other one and I'm very pleased with the outcome.
2 Challenges:
The Inlinkz Blog    Inlinkz Challenge #1-Boy Birthday Card using Light Blue, Orange, Lime Green, Denim Blue(or something close)
The Pixie Cottage    TPCC#21-Sketch and a little bit of metal.

Happy Christmas

I have my card ready for Bah! Humbug! and I will be posting a long post on my Book Pile blog tomorrow. Taking care of general living is very time consuming and my people do need to eat.
I made up my own sketch on this one and a friend suggested these colors, I was originally going to go with blue and silver, but I think this turned out very classy and dare I say just a little bit vintage.

Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 5" X 61/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Bravo Burgandy, Old Olive, Shimmery White, Stamp: Stampin Up-Wandering Words, Ink: Stampin Up-Bravo Burgandy, VersaMark Ink Pad, VersaMark Pen, Stampin Up-Clear embossing powder, CTMH-gold embossing powder, Cuttlebug embossing folder-Textile, Coluzzle Oval Shape Cutting, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-gold, Sharpie Poster Paint Pen-gold, ribbon-Michael's and Offray lace, pop dots.
