Let's Relax

I had a great weekend--hope everyone else did too. I got to go to the StampScrapArtTour show in Mesquite,Tx. Saturday. Lots of great vendors and lots of great people there demonstrating and having a wonderful time. This year I have vowed to use the things I bought there instead of savoring them and waiting almost a whole year to use them.
This card is my first attempt at faux postage. I got the templates and stamps for a variety of configurations, but this one fit this stamp to a T.
I got this wonderful stamp set during the Christmas holidays and just couldn't seem to get it inked up, but this challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad was the opportunity I've been waiting for. This is the Relish Reading set from Rogue Redhead Designs
The challenge is to create something relaxing--sitting down with a good book is one of the most relaxing things I know of and this girl looks like she's enjoying her book and contemplating what she has read on a soft summer evening under a tree.
Supplies: Ivory Card Blank 4" X 5 1/2" Halcraft, Papers: Stampin Up-Rose Red, Whisper White, Stamps: Rogue Redhead Designs, Stampabilities-Le London Script, Inks: Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black, Coffee, Ranger Distress Inks-victorian velvet, spun sugar, tea dye, bundled sage, stormy sky, Fiskars decorative edge scissors, Fiskars decorative corner punch, Stampin Up-Antique brads, ribbon-Michael's, glue dots.

Thanks for viewing,
Beverly G ♥

oh, how relaxing that would be (but if I got down on the ground, I probably couldn't get up LOL); even the colors are relaxing and calming--super card!

seriously--great job with the faux postage idea; I would never have thought to use a stamp like that for that template but it works wonderfully (and thanks for a link to a new challenge)
