Gingersnap Special Content For February:
Technique of the Month--Basic Marbled Backgound using Shaving
I had been wanting to try this technique for quite some time, so the Gingersnappers just spurred me on. They are great for inspiring us to create outside our comfort level. I do love to try new things, well, new to me. They gave an excellent tutorial that you can print out, with pictures, that's always good for us visual learners.
Depending on what colors of ink you use and how you stir your shaving cream, you can achieve all different kinds of backgrounds. I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and So Saffron. After I peeled it up, washed it off, and let it dry, I thought it looked like a blustery summers day and the flowers in this stamp look kind of like they are blowing in the breeze.
This was a fun technique, but be prepared to get a little messy and make sure you give your paper plenty of time to dry before stamping.
