- GC98: Spicy Supply Challenge-Mists
While that was drying, I got busy making the scroll.
I used a clear plastic straw cut in half and colored with a black sharpie pen. I cut another piece of computer paper the width I wanted it, and began distressing it with Old Paper, Pumice Stone, and Tea Dye ink. I then rolled it around the straws using Scor-Tape to hold in place. Cut a piece of the asian paper I got from Ten Two Studios, edged it with black sharpie, glued it onto the scroll with Studio Multi-Medium Matte. I attached my transparency to the misted computer paper and cut around it, then attached it to scroll with Scor-Tape. I printed my proverb onto card stock weight vellum, tore it, distressed the edges and glued it onto scroll with the same Multi-Medium, attached the 2 coins with Scor-Tape. Black #3 DMC Floss doubled and tied in a knot which is pulled back into straw so only the cord is showing.
This concludes my take on an ancient Chinese Scroll. I know everyone probably gets tired of me talking about clapping myself, but I am so pleased with how this turned out that I'm going to say, "TA DA!".
