Feminine Flair

I had a wonderful surprise this afternoon when I opened up my email. I discovered the wonderful ladies at Our Creative Corner had picked my For The Birds ATC for a Top Talent Award and have asked me to be Guest Designer for April 30th. What a huge honor, this is one very talented bunch of gals. Thank You, Thank You.
Another HUGE HONOR this week, Sharon from Rogue Redhead Designs has asked me to join her Design Team when she debuts her next stamp plate. I've gotten to know Sharon over at Gingersnap Creations.
If you are not familiar with Sharon's designs click on the link above and see some very versatile stamps.
I can hear you clapping for me and I know you can hear me clapping and jumping up and down with excitement. Lots of goals and dreams are coming true for me this year.
It just so happens that the card above is Our Creative Corner challenge which is Girl Power! A Recipe Challenge: Handmade Paper Flower, Ribbon, & Bling.
I used the sketch from Stamping 411 to jump start this design. (I am not entering this on their site because they are a non advertising site, and since I put a link to Sharon's site, out of respect I won't enter, but I did want them to get credit for their sketch. They are a great challenge site so don't forget to check them out and join in.)
I'm also entering it into Drunken Stampers challenge DSC#61-Are You Sponge Worthy?
The answer to this question is Yes--I just can't seem to leave edges crisp and clean, they just don't seem finished with out some sponging. They've got a great sponsor this week, The Stamping Boutique, so some lucky sponger will win a prize.
My handmade paper flower is punched with 3 punches from card stock weight vellum then inked. The rest of the card is embossing, die cutting, punching a border, tying bows, oops, I just noticed in the photo that my ribbon is a little off, I promise I wasn't tippling, just tired.
A quick update on my Mom for all of you who have been well wishing and praying. I had to move her to a nursing-rehab facility Monday. It's only about 10 min. from my house so that's a good thing and it's seems nice and the people have been very nice to my Mom and to me. She is very tired and I don't quite know where all this is leading, but as you've heard me say, I'll just keep steppin' and see what God has in store for us. All your thoughts and prayers are very much felt and appreciated.

Fantastic card and fantastic news about the design team for Rogue and the guest designer spot!! Clapping right along with you ;-)

I love the what if it is tipsy (isn't "drunken" a synonym of sorts for tipsy? LOL)

The Creator is keeping you busy crafting so you can transition from 24/7 nursemaid, and I know your mother is really quite proud of your talent (you are both still in my prayers). Sounds like she has a great medical team looking out for her.

You're actually a great inspiration to remind me always to "keep stepping"...

This is absolutely lovely. That dry embossing just adds so much to the piece, as does your pretty flower! Definitely a girly card! I think I'm in some sort of purple phase and I'm not really a big fan of purple. Just seems to be appealing to me this spring season for some reason.

Congratulations again on the Top Talent award! And a HUGE CONGRATS on your new DT opportunity - awesome news there.

So happy to have you joining in the fun with us again this week at Our Creative Corner!
