Studio L 3 GM 08! 2008 Sept Technique Challenge
Shopping Our Stash SOS Challenge 1-Ribbon Rewind
This is one of the coolest techniques I have tried. When I was inking the stamp with the corner of the ink pads I wasn't quite sure what I was going to come out with. I wasn't trying to ink the script background on the stamp, just the flower, the leaves, and the butterfly. The next step after you ink is to spray the stamp with water til it beads up, I then put the paper on the stamp, then flipped the whole thing over and pressed down very hard. Wow, when I lifted the stamp off I was left with a very cool water color effect with lots of shading and script background. I added the thinking of you, tore the edges, matted, added the dew drops and my one little piece of purple ribbon from my ribbon stash.
This will probably be the measliest bit of ribbon entered in the Shopping Our Stash challenge, but it has been one of my favorite purple ribbons in my stash. Now, I'll have to go on the hunt for more or I could practice dying some of the white ribbons I have.
The more of Tim Holtz's techniques I try the more my admiration for his talent grows. I can see why everyone likes to go to Ranger U.
