Good Tuesday Morning--
There's a new challenge out here in blog land for all you guys and gals who love a good challenge.
Shar at Rogue Redhead Designs has created the RRD Rebel Challenge--for the first challenge she's given us the prompt--Bold-Colored Vintage--
I've chosen to interpret these colors as Melon Mambo, Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade, and Pool Party all SU colors. The inks I've used are SU also, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Sahara Sand.
Once I had the colors I needed to come up with a base and when I saw Dawn's video over on YouTube at dostamping (I have not learned how to leave a link to that, so hope you can find it) where she created the cutest owl card using this gate fold with the SU Oval Scallop Frame die I knew this was it. Since you've already seen the picture you know what stamp set immediately came to mind, Yes, the Rogue Redhead Designs Floriculture set. For some reason every time after I stamp this floral stamp the words bling me start whispering. So after I stamped the flowers with Lucky Limeade and again with Calypso Coral, cut out the flowers, did a little sponging on the edges and popped them up with dimensionals I added some Rock Candy stickles to the centers. The scallop looked a little naked so I tinted the little pearls with the Pool Party marker and did some faux stitching with the Melon Mambo marker.
When you mount the top of the scallop to the top of the gate and the bottom of the oval to the bottom of the gate you've created a latch effect.
I never would have personally chosen these colors to put together, but I have to say this created a very dramatic card.
Now, I'm inviting you to come over to Rogue Redhead Designs and participate in this new RRD Rebel Challenge: Bold-Colored Vintage. You've still got time to jump in, the challenge doesn't end until Aug. 8 and then the winner will be announced on Aug.10th. We all like prizes and Shar has one waiting for one lucky winner.
Thanks for visiting and viewing,
Beverly G ♥
