Sunny Day

Shopping Our Stash     SOS#8: Out With The Old or In With The New
Tuesday Morning Sketches     TMS#102-Create A Card with a Detachable Bookmark

A totally appropriate card for today--Hot--Hot--and SUNNY!! 103 degrees.
Sometimes I complain that the 21st Century is not all it's cracked up to be, but you won't find me complaining about the invention of air conditioning.
Each day brings new challenges with Mom home from the nursing home, but fortunately she and I work together very well, so we are persevering.
For the Shopping Our Stash challenge we are supposed to tell what we used from our stash--as you see above we could use old or new, so I chose to use some CTMH Goldrush embossing powder and even though it is a couple of years old it is still embossing beautifully. The striped paper on the front is also an old CTMH paper. Three pretty new mini stamps: Inkadinkado, Studio112, MSE! This was also the first time I have used the perforater tool I got last year. The edge where you pull the bookmark off was kind of raggedy so I ruffed up the other edges so everything would kind of blend. (Creative covering up of mistakes)
For the Gingersnap challenge my 3 words are on the bookmark, my 3 papers are polka dot, stripe, and text on the inside panel, I also stamped and embossed the sun on the text paper, and I spread my 3 buttons out on the front for a little bit of pop.  I couldn't resist putting the little smiley face kite on with the sentiment.
A lot of people are on vacation now, so wherever you are and whatever you are doing--Hope you're having a Happy Day!
Thanks for visiting and viewing,
Beverly G ♥
