Texas Box

Try It On Tuesday     Alter Something to make a Gift

A good Tuesday morning to everyone. Today is my Guest Spot on Try It On Tuesday.  First, I want to say Thank You to the team at Try It On Tuesday and especially to Angela. She has coordinated with me this week and made this Guest Spot experience go very smoothly.  They have created a fun schedule of different challenges each week to keep things fresh and fun.
The Craft Barn is generously sponsoring the challenge again this week with a £15 voucher to the winner.

The Craft Barn has a blog and they are having a challenge this week that would coordinate with this challenge perfectly. So while you are deciding what to enter this week at Try It On Tuesday be sure to hop over to The Craft Barn and check things out there also.
This week the challenge is to Alter Something into a Gift. As you can see above I have created a Welcome To Texas Box. We've got a lot of new people moving into our state and very recently we've had some new neighbors move here from Pennsylvania, so this challenge came at a very timely moment.
I've had this set of paper-mache star boxes for quite some time thinking of something Christmas, but since we're the Lone Star State what could be more perfect.
Sorry about all the pictures, but I put something different on each panel around the star. I used a paper pack from Provo Craft that I've had for a couple of years. I'm very stingy using the papers because I like them so much. I wish I had bought 2 packs now, I don't think they make it anymore. I have to mention SU Naturals White card stock, I'm in love with that right now.  The stamps I used are a variety, Stampabilities, Deadbeat Designs, CTMH, Texana Designs, because I like to spread the love around. There are so many fantastic stamp companies and products out there and it's one of my favorite things to do to mix and match. I used 4 inks, Ranger Archival Jet Black, Sepia, and SU Night of Navy and Riding Hood Red. My trusty Black Sharpie marker, some free Google images, a piece of Styrofoam, some hemp twine, a fee chop stick, lots of glue, and the various Texas goodies to fill the inside of the box.
We all need gifts from time to time so use the inspiration from the great Design Team at Try It On Tuesday to put a little something of yourself into a nice present for someone special in your life, and don't forget you could win some goodies to beef up your crafting stash at the same time.

Thanks for visiting and viewing,
Beverly G ♥
