Rogue Redhead Designs Rogue Crew Member Post with New Stamp Release
A good Tuesday Morning to every one. I hope it is not as hot wherever you are as it is here in N. Texas.
However, this is summer and what a great new stamp release set that Shar at Rogue Redhead Designs has come up with for us. The whole set is called Beach Babes. You will be able to stamp all kinds of summery scenes with this set.
This is just one of the stamps from the set. All together there are: one large background stamp, which I used around the edges of this scene, and 10 assorted figures, five sentiments, and two borders. The next exciting news is the Shar has put the new release on sale for $17.60, that is 20% off the regular price of $22.00 until Sept. 6.
Today I was going for a Vintage Post Card feel with this card and on the inside I'm thinking of putting something like Wish you were here, or hope you had a super beachy vacation.
I first embossed the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, second from the largest die, on the front of this 4" X 5 1/2" cream card. I stamped the children in sepia, then stamped them again on Eclipse masking tape. I carefully cut them out and masked over the first stamped image. With the straight edge of a sponge I used Distress Inks to drag straight across to make the sand, water, and sky, then did some dabbing on the sand. When you carefully peel off the mask you have set the children at the beach. I then water colored the children with the Distress Inks. I masked over the whole scene and stamped the large background stamp and sponged the edges to blend all together. The ferns are a Martha Stewart punch, and the shells in the corners are free clip art, cut out and softly inked around the edges.
Here's a list of the Distress Inks I used to create this soft vintage beach scene:
worn lipstick, stormy sky, dusty concord, faded jeans, broken china, barn door, mustard seed spiced marmalade, scattered straw, antique linen, bundled sage, pumice stone, tea dye, tattered rose.
I hope my card wets your appetite to hop over and check out what the rest of the team is doing with the new set of stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs. You'll be able to round out the rest of your summer with some wonderful creations using these stamps.
