Too Many Hats

Card Patterns     CPS#140-Sketch
The Order of the Opus Gluei      Challenge #117-What's on your head?
Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog     Challenge 23-Attitude
The Paper Players     TPP#71-Anne Marie's Recipe Challenge-3 different patterned papers, 2 different ribbons, at least 1 punch, and a sprinkling of glitter

Before I get into my little story to go along with this card it's very purple and probably won't be anyone's favorite of anything I've ever done, but it got made yesterday and for some reason couldn't bring myself to chuck it. The Paper Players may kick me off because there is no actual stamping on this one, I got the girl from free Google images.
Which brings me to my story--I'm many things to many people, so what's on my head are many hats. Most days there are at least two and a lot of days many more than that. As you can see by my girl's face, being needed is a blessing and a curse, but alas, you rise each morning, put on your sparkiest clothes, can't forget your jewels, and grab your purse because you know that contains all your important papers and strike off to do the bidding of all who love you. I also remind myself daily while I'm striding through life I try to take time to smell the flowers along the way.

Supplies: Perfect Plum card blank 4" X 5 1/2", Papers: Stampin Up-Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack Subtles, Ink: Stampin Up-Wisteria Wonder, Copic Markers-BV02, V17, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen-Clear Star, Suze Weinberg's Pure Glitz Stickles-Grape, Stampin Up-Glimmer Brads, Fiskars Scallop Sentiment border punch, The Paper Studio-ruffled ribbon, Close To My Heart-Sassy Strands, Prima Flowers, Stampin Up dimensionals, glue dots.

Beverly, I this card works - the purple tones are so rich and sumptuous and the image is apropos. She looks overwhelmed by all of those hats she's wearing. Which does translate into real life, this would be a marvelous card to send to a friend who is going through a trying time for just that reason, we all wear so many hats and so many roles. It gets wearying.

Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at Opus Gluei!
