Tiny Circle BD

The Paper Players      Sketch Challenge #84-From LeAnne
Shopping Our Stash      SOS41: Sentiments Required

I'm finally accumulating enough Stampin' Up supplies to say I have made a card with total Stampin' Up products. The Paper Players don't require you to use exclusive Stampin' Up, so you can play at this challenge site and still have fun.
I used to run across more challenges that you had to have all Stampin' Up, but I don't seem to see as many lately or I'm just not looking in the right place.
To fulfill the SOS challenge, I went to my stash for last years designer paper, an old sentiment stamp, the Itty Bitty Bits stamps, and all the punches. Love to use punches.
I like the freshness of these colors, Marina Mist, Lucky Limeade, and Whisper White. I kind of neglected my stash of birthday cards last year for Christmas cards, so I'm flipping it this year. Will still make Christmas cards just not as many.
Check out The Paper Players for a fun challenge place to play.

Wish Big Splash

Birthday Sundaes     Challenge #45-Get Messy Birthday Card (use some inks)
Try Stampin' On Tuesday     Challenge #55-Sketch

I finally got my hands on some bright alcohol inks, so for this messy something birthday card I uses the alcohol ink technique where you drop a drop and either use a can of air to move it quickly or if you cheap like me you keep a straw in you mouth and when you drop the drop you blow hard. Yep, that's right, I'm a blow hard, but you already knew that because I clap myself. ;-)
I love the big splashes this creates, and even though I just used Watermelon, Citrus, and Sail Boat Blue where the colors mingle you get some mixing. The two funky colored dots in the corner don't match too many things, but were perfect for this card.

Typed BD

Loved the sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I try to play each week there but general living has been eating my lunch lately. So much for whining, moving on.
I got to use some old typewriter keys that have been in my ephemera stash for awhile. I think they were the perfect finishing touch to this birthday card.

Lucky ATC

Wicked Wednesday Weekly ATC Challenges     WW#20-St. Patrick's Day/Luck of the Irish

Wow, it's hard to believe that we're fast approaching March, so I dug through my stash and came up with these cute embellies that I got at JoAnn's. The stamp is a Studio G and I cut around it with Postage stamp decorative scissors. Of course, I just had to outline the background paper with a white Sharpie marker, you know by now about me and my Sharpie Paint pens.
Always wishing everyone luck and happiness.

Birthday Center Step

Birthday Sundaes     Challenge #44-Stair Step/Center Step/Side Step

I found another new challenge to me and I'm glad I found this one. I need lots of birthday cards throughout the year, so this challenge will help keep me on track and help me use a lot of my birthday stash stuff.
We could pick from the 3 different kinds of step cards that you see above and they give links to tutorials on the challenge site so you don't have any excuse not to create something.
I chose the center step card, a new Stampin' Up stamp, and old Stampin' Up stamp, and some other new Stampin'n Up stuff. I'm not selling, just using. Oops, get your mind out of the gutter, but I will tell the truth stamping supplies are just as addictive as other things and I do get a high when I create something great in my studio. I had plans to make 3 cards today, but between all the general living going on here right now, I got this one done and pretty happy with it.
Thanks for visiting--

Heart Grid

Card Patterns     CPS#153-Sketch

I've got quite a few anniversary's coming up, so this sketch gave me a chance to use my big heart background stamp. Perfect for cutting up for this grid.
If you like to start off with a good sketch, Card Patterns is a place to go just for that.

Pouring Rain

I've got a CAS card for you this morning. I've used the Torn Edge Technique to get the effect at the bottom of the card. I just couldn't resist using this guy and sentiment from the Just Sayin' stamp set. He reminds me so much of my oldest son, so determined, yet, he's just one of these people that a cloud seems to follow around. I thought he kind of looks like he's walking on the water, which would be nice if we could do that when we're surrounded by adversity.
Pop over to Rogue Redhead Designs and check out what the rest of the design team has been doing with the new releases, and, oh yeah, Shar's got some people she's caught red-handed creating some great projects with Rogue stamps. Those posts will be coming up in the next few days. Don't forget, you too can be featured on the Rogue Redhead blog if create something with our stamps.

Forever Night Challenges     Freaky Friday Challenge 27-Nothing Like A Little Spook +Anything But A Card

This is anything but a card. I found this cute coffin pattern last year at Janine Tinklenberg's site. She's a very talented lady with quite a few patterns that she shares. We can't forget to give credit where credit is due.
Coffin's are spooky for some people, but I kind of like to think of them as luggage for wherever any body believes we go when we're through with these bodies that age and pass away.
I used double sided paper(the inside is orange, purple, green, and black stripes), a Spellbinders ornate tag die, a Stampin' Up scallop oval punch, and a Jolee's Boutique dimensional sticker to make this little box of spookiness.
You've still got time to enter Freaky Friday #27, I'm actully not a last minute Nellie this time. ;-)

Dream Inchie

I'm accused quite often of having my head in the clouds, dreaming of things other than what I'm supposed to be doing, but alas, that is the fate of most artists. That's how we come up with our great little pieces of goodness.
A 1" x 1" square with designer paper, and 2 stamps, 1 Inkadinkado, 1 Studio G, some black ink for stamping, colored pencils, and a blue Sharpie marker. You know I love my Sharpie markers. ;-)

Heart Dancer

Art With No Boundaries     Challenge 3: Let The Dancer In You Escape
Dilly Beans Designers & Friday Challenges     Seeing Red Challenge

I was introduced to CS Designs by Sharon, she's led me to quite a few of the new challenges that I participate in now. She's a very talented and funny gal and on several design teams.
Needless to say I love the digis at CS Designs. The arty, graphic designs have really captured me. To date I've used some of the Ocean/Aquatic Series. This too cute little dancer is from her new series Express Yourself Series.
Another of my new challenge favorites and a new favorite digi designer is Dilly Beans. I haven't used one of her images this time, but I was seeing red with this one so I thought it would be a good fit with their challenge.
I used the Lipstick red Spica Glitter pen to go around the debossed hearts on the background, the heart on a string, the 2 on her leggings, and her eye. Photoing subtle glitter is an impossible task for me. The little gems on her leg are tiny hearts like the ones on the sentiment.
If you haven't given this challenge a try I highly recommend it, and one of the nice things about it, it's a fortnightly challenge. With busy schedules and general living this works quite well for me and a bonus, they have a once a month challenge also, to use our scraps, always a good thing.

A Little Bit of Clapping

I have to start out this afternoon with some clapping.
First, a big Thank You to the team over at Shopping Our Stash they picked my Ticket To Love card for a Top 3 badge. Yay! I love their challenge because it makes me keep digging in my stash and actually using what I have at hand.

Now for the drum roll----I'm sure you can hear me clapping all over the planet.

I made the Cover !!
Yep, that's my bird house card on the cover. This has been one of my personal goals since I started submitting to be published. However, that's not all---I got 6 cards total in this issue and they did a 2 page spread on a Teepee card I made. Not only is this a great issue because I'm in it, but it's just a great issue all around, if you've ever wanted to get the low down on shaped cards this is a must have.
Thanks for being patient with my clapping and bragging.
Now back to maybe getting some projects done today--there are challenges out there waiting to be conquered. ;-)

Smile Garden ATC

Wicked Wednesday Weekly ATC Challenges     WW#19-Quotes and Words

I just can't seem to get my ATC's for Wicked Wednesday made before Saturday evening, oh well, just so it's before the deadline, right? ;-)
This one gave me the chance to pair up these rolled roses I've had on my to be used pile with this wonderful quote stamp and this new Twitterpated design paper from Stampin' Up.
We're having a slow much needed rain here today, just in time for some pretty spring gardens.

Faux Bleach Fat Page

Fat Pages & Cards With Attitude     Challenge #7-Anything Goes/Bling

Ha-I'm back--we have a sister challenge to ATCs & Cards With Attitude--Fat Pages & Cards With Attitude, so if you don't get your challenge fix satisfied with an ATC then you can come over to this challenge and create a blingy piece of goodness that is 4" X 4".
This faux bleach technique with alcohol inks creates a very dramatic effect. I used Butterscotch, Stream, and Wild Plum alcohol inks, Rogue Redhead Designs stamps, and a Stampin' Up Sizzlits folder for the butterflies. You can find the detailed instructions on Splitcoast Stampers for this technique. Also, Rogue Redhead Designs is having a sale right now so you could add another stamp company to collect to your stash ;-)
You've got 2 weeks to WOW us with your creations, looking forward to seeing what you create.

ATC's & Cards With Attitude     Challenge #7-Anything Goes/Bling

Friday got away from me, so here I am this afternoon with a great challenge for you to enter in the next 2 weeks. ATC's are a great way to make something when you mojo is a little on the whiny side. A 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" piece to try out a new stamp or a technique that you just want to dabble with, or if your mojo is in full gear you can make a card and enter that. Either way, we'd love to see what blingy something you might dazzle us with over at ATCs & Cards With Attitude.

Glow Inchie

I decided to use some of the left over alcohol ink background that I made for my Mardi Gras card earlier this week. It seemed to have a sunset kind of glow to me. I think the reason this came out kind of blurry is because in person it kind of has a 3D holographic effect, pretty cool.
The stamp is from the Inkadinkado Morphic Patterns set.  I really tried to sharpen the image for a better photo, but my skills fell a little short.
If you haven't tried inchies they are very interesting.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! Hope there's lots of love floating around the blogesphere.
I've got my fat ribbon on here with this tiny anchor charm that I made with a stamp, Stazon ink, and frosted shrinky dink material. Make sure you always punch you holes before shrinking. Pretty cute, a charm that fits the theme without having to go to the store.

Closing down for tonight I've created a Friendship card not with a flower, but many with these cute flower stripes in Wisteria Wonder ink and the Friendship in Concord Crush ink. The stamps are from Inky Antics and Autumn Leaves Stampology.
A simple card for a Special Friendship.

I've got a tropical valentine for you today.
The picture inspiration looked like a beachy patio luncheon, just right for a valentine cocktail.
I chose the colors Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White. It's hard to believe on this simple card I used 4 stamp sets: Tropical Party, Something to Celebrate, Sprinkles, and I {Heart} Hearts.
These are all Stampin' Up products.

Ticket To Love

Tuesday Morning Sketches     TMS#132-Sketch
Shopping Our Stash     SOS 38: Hearts, Valentines, and/or Lace
Try It On Tuesday     Cards For a True Love

I picked the sketch and then went shopping in my stash.
A new doily die from Stampin' Up, some lace, a 3 heart punch, and my ticket stamps, I punched the corners with one of my favorite punches of all time, the Ticket Punch, to match the other tickets, some black rhinestones and you're pretty much done.
I have to say this is going to be a very versatile doily die because I cut one round off the edge so that it would fit on this card and after looking at it some more there are even more rounds you can cut off tho make it several sizes and if you cut them out of different colors of paper, that would be pretty cute layered up. Hmmm, will have to give that a go.

Masking Tape Journal

Gingersnap Creations     GC138: Spicy Supply Challenge-Masking Tape

This month I won't be entering the challenges at Gingersnap Creations because I get to represent Rogue Redhead Designs as a Guest Designer. Hopefully to give all you artists who want to enter the challenge some inspiration.
I chose to go with the Masking Tape Backgrond Technique, I found the instructions on Splitcoast Stampers . Instead of making a card this time the Just Sayin' sentiment from the new Just Sayin' stamp set at Rogue Redhead Designs inspired me to come up with this little journal.
I'm also really into using empty cereal and cracker boxes for my chip board. I cut 2 pieces 4" X 5" and rounded the corners on the right end. The left end I measured in 3/4" and scored. I covered the inside back and front with designer paper, then I did the Masking Tape Technique, set the eyelets front and back, roughed up and sponged the edges of the inside pages, tied it all together, stamped the Tim Holtz ticket, and attached the hearts.
Hope to see a bunch of you playing this month over at Gingersnap Creations.

6 Twinchies

Gingersnap Creations     Yahoo Group Art Exchange-Vintage Twinchies

An Inchie and now Twinchies. I've been wanting to try my hand at these for a long time. This art exchange gave me the opportunity. You think you've got a lot of stamps that will fit on a 2" X 2" square, and you do, but then you have to keep telling yourself, these are supposed to be Vintage.
These are all with Stampin' Up products except for the tiny heart brads, they are The Paper Studio Spare Parts.
Some of the other people have already blogged about their Twinchies, so I know I'm going to get some goodies back in the mail. I hope the people that get mine like what I've created this time around.
If you haven't ever participated in an art exchange, they are very fun. You get to get a lot of cool art work in the mail and make some new blogging friends. Check out the Gingersnaps Yahoo Group for details.

Every Inchie Monday     Flyer Inchie

I found a new to me challenge site. Every Inchie Monday 2012.
I used Peach Parfait card stock glued to a 1" X 1" piece of cereal box for stability, stamped an inchie from the Inkadinkado set Morphic Patterns, touched the flowers with a Peach Parfait marker, and colored the butterflies with PrismaColor pencils and blended with a stump and Sansodor. You know I had to go around the edges with a black Sharpie marker to ground me and the Butterflies to the inchie. ;-)
Go over and check out the site and make some inchies--a good way to use up some scraps.

Mardi Gras

Rogue Redhead Designs     Carnival Dreams-New Release Stamp Set

Good Tuesday Morning--it's almost time to break out the party beads, crowns, and masks. Mardi Gras will be here soon. I think this card might be a good party invitation.
Carnival Dreams is one of two stamp sets released last week at Rogue Redhead Designs. There are 6 stamps plus 3 sentiment stamps for you to create with.
I wanted something sparkly and special for this couple. The main colors of Mardi Gras are green, purple, gold.
I used Raisin, Bottle, and Gold alcohol inks on glossy card stock to create these backgrounds. You know how I love to outline, so I used a purple metallic marker and a gold Sharpie Paint pen to outline the oval and the rectangle. The label stack was created using a McGil Vintage Label punch and 2 Stampin' Up punches and metallic paper I had in my stash. The gold cord I attached to the oval with Scor-Tape (love that stuff, because you can tear it, and shape it). I colored the moon with a Clear Star gel pen, and her heart necklace with a purple Spica Glitter pen, and finished it off with the tiny flat gold beads.
Our Rogue Crew are creating some really fabulous projects with the new releases and the oldies, but goodies. Hop over and check it out for some great ideas.

Fat Pages & Cards With Attitude     #6-Anything Goes/Flowers

You can see by the link above we've added cards to this challenge also. We didn't have many takers on our challenge last week, but we all know you love to make cards so come on over and join in this fortnight. Our sponsors are Limited Runs Digital Stamps and Delicious Doodles.
I've chosen another of the big eyed little girls, Maggie, this week, from Limited Runs. She's trying to decide like we all do when we have those special fellas in our lives, does he really love me. I've colored her with Copic Markers and popped her up on some of my favorite valentine paper from American Crafts, but alas, it is from last year, should have gotten more, or find some new favorite.
We look forward to having all comers enter our challenge this fortnight you'll be in the running for some cool prizes.

What Dimension? ---Love Is In Bloom

ATC's & Cards With Attitude     #6-Anything Goes/Flowers

I'm very late getting my post up today for the new challenge at ATC's & Cards With Attitude. Our new theme is Anything Goes/Flowers, and our Sponsor this week is Fresh Brewed Designs.  Don't forget you can enter cards now. Last week we had a wonderful batch of entries and Congrats to the winners of Challenge #5.
I was greedy this fornight and chose two images to work with--the first is the great pocket watch, as I was coloring it with my Copic Markers it just spoke to me with, What dimension am I in?
The second image is the Love In Bloom vase which counts as my flower entry. I cut out around the leaves to be able to insert the little honeycomb heart on a toothpick.
Hope to see you over at ATC's & Cards With Attitude this next fornight.

Just Sayin'

Gingersnap Creations     Tell It Like It Is--Focus on Faux Techniques

First, I have to tell you a sinus infection is laying me low, so I'll be hit and miss for awhile.
Second, over at Gingersnap Creations the month of February they are focusing on Faux Techniques and guess what Rogue Redhead Designs is the Sponsor this time around.
The first challenge of the month GC137: Chestnut Theme Challenge-Words of Wisdom will run until March 4, 2012. You've got a chance to win a $15.00 Voucher and be the Home Page Artist.
I made this card hoping to give you a little bit of inspriation focusing on the Faux Background paper technique.
These stamps are from one of the new releases at Rogue Redhead Designs, Just Sayin'.
I stamped the background stamp from the set very lightly, then stamped the words and sponged around the edges. This is also a Faux Button, two layers of cereal box glued together with paper glued to that, punched the holes with a Crop-A-Dile and covered with Glossy Accents. You know you have to let that dry over night when you've got such a thick layer. Attached this to the background with this sparkly baker's twine I found in the jewelery dept ( I don't think they call it baker's twine). I stamped the little quirky lady ready for anything with her black umbrella and I gave her a little pink fur hat and bow and colored all with Copic Markers.
Hope to see you over at Gingersnaps this month using lots of Faux Techniques.
