Artista ATC

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge     WW#33-Mexican Folkart

The sponsor for Wicked Wednesday is Dilly Beans and she's one of my new favorite digi designers. I have quite a few of her digis. This one is Frida-Day of the Dead and I've titled her Artista for my ATC.
I printed her with my new laser printer, colored her with Copic Markers, layered her on a red ATC blank, used a white gel pen to do the dots, and of course, a black sharpie marker to frame it all. I tried mounting her on the straight, but I'm just not a straight line person. If you tilt your head a little like Frida, you'll get a new slant on things.

Happy Memorial Day--Thanks to my Son Jason, my Dad who passed away in 1991, but served for 22 years in the Army and Air Force and lost a knee cap on Normandy beach, and all our other Vets and Retirees who have made sure we have the Freedoms we enjoy.

Plie´-A Frame

Art With No Boundaries     Anything Goes/A Frame of Mind

I'm entering this adorable little framed piece in the new challenge at Art With No Boundaries.
I'm finally kind of getting back into the swing of things and boy does it feel good to be back in my studio.
I picked up this little frame (3 3/4" X 4 1/4") at the Dollar Store quite some time ago. It's just been waiting for the right project. I believe this is it.
I mounted the pattern vellum on a scrap of pink card stock and mounted that in the frame. Then on to my focal image. I just have to say that this is the coolest thing about digi stamps, you can size them. These two digi's are from CS Designs, love Chris's digi's. The tiny Plie´ is only an inch wide and two inches long, printed, and colored with Copic Markers.  Yes, I know the sentiment is a little off, but the glue dots I put on the spacer on the back to hold it foward shifted on me and I couldn't get it apart without wrecking the whole thing, so please, pretend that you see the sentiment straight. Again, I sized it, printed it, punched it, sponged it, and went around the outside edge with one of my trusty Gold Sharpie Paint Pens. (I should be a spokesperson for their company).
Thanks for stopping by--hope you get a chance to play at Art With No Boundaries.
Be sure to read all the new rules they're not hard to follow and it helps to get into the prize draw. Hope I read everything correctly.

Genuine Country ATC

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog     WW#32-A Little Bit Country/Western

I thought I'd jump back into challenges after being so ill with one of my favorite challenge blogs. They always have great themes and lots of talent on the Design Team to inspire all of us.
For this ATC I pulled out my Western box of stamps and dug around, and also found this background paper in my scrap box. That's one of the things I like about ATC's I can use up some of the bits and pieces I have left over from bigger projects.
I would encourage you to enter the challenge, but I entering this week at the very last minute on this one, so if you haven't played here before hop on over next week and give this fun challenge blog a try.

Happy Creating,

Sweet On You

A Great Good Tuesday Morning Everyone! Thanks for hanging in with me and still coming to visit. I am feeling better, but still not tip top. Will require another visit to Doc. This upper respiratory infection has really gotten me down. OK, enough whining--
Today is my Design Team Post for Rogue Redhead Designs. The new challenge is up and running: Rebel Challenge #11: Warm Tones For The Gents, time to get those Father's Day goodies in the making. I hope you'll hop over and join in with your Gentlemanly creations.
My card today is an Anniversary card, I've got several anniversaries in May that need congratulating.
I used 3 stamp sets to create this card: Just Sayin', Candy Kisses, Snow Hugs and I used a faux technique that I saw on Splitcoast Stampers this last week while laying in bed coughing and watching YouTube videos.
It's Faux Washi Tape. There are lots of faux techniques for this floating around out there right now, but this one caught my eye because I didn't know Post It Note has a 1" Label roll. Just like a roll of tape, pretty cool. I sent Hubby off on an errand and he found it at Office Depot.
I cheated a little bit because I didn't want my strips all to be 1" wide so after I stamped the backgrounds on the stirps I cut them to the widths I wanted and cut the banner tails then stuck it on the card.
I used the stacked frame technique with Stampin' Up Framelits for the couple as the focal point and topped it off with the stacked buttons tied with Bakers Twine. I liked the pop of red with the blue, yellow, and white.
I hope I'm on the mend and will be creating and posting more often in the coming days, and getting back to visiting around and commenting on your blogs.
