Every Inchie Monday Tea

After scouring my stamp collection this is the smallest Teapot I could lay my hands on. I've already been over and looked at the other entrants art and I'm so impressed that they all fit their art on the inchie, so far I'm the only one hanging over the edges.
This is a Prima stamp set that I have had for quite a few years. I was going for a Damask like background not to loud to over shadow the Teapot. I embossed the Teapot with Stampin' Up Pewter embossing powder, fussy cut it out, embossed the clock with Stampin' Up Early Expresso embossing powder, fussy cut it and popped it up with a dimensional.
The title for my Inchie is Tea Time. The way the clock looks to me it's 11:50 am, In Western America we call that lunch time. In Britain I don't think they have tea until late afternoon. When I mark that destination off my Bucket List I'll come back and let you know when the correct time for Tea is.

madebyjoey Weekly Challenge #88 Y

madebyjoey     Weekly Challenge #88-Y

In amongst all the to do this week I found a new to me Zentangle Challenge. It's run by a very busy young lady named Joey. She lives in Canada. I wonder if she and Laura the diva know one another.
The challenge this week was Y and Joey chose the tangle Yuma for a monotangle. This is a new to me tangle also, but I gave it a go. I pretty sure this will be called a variation of the tangle. I did this tangle in my "tangle-a-day 2015 calendar" by Carole Ohl.CZT. I also used a new 01 Micron pen and it looks like my hand was a little shaky slippery. I didn't think I was rushing but---
Yep, it's Sunday afternoon. Joey says she never closes her linky to enter so I'm off to enter and good news tomorrow is Monday so she will have a new challenge up.
Hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a wonderful holiday. It's back to school for us tomorrow then a busy schedule til school lets out on the 18th for Christmas holidays. Then you know what happens--It's a Happy New Year!!

i am the diva, CZT Weekly Challenge #245

i am the diva, CZT    Weekly Challenge #245-Back to Basics-Hollibaugh

Laura has us going back to basics this week. Hollibaugh is one of the first tangles learned in Zentangle. If you're not familiar with Zentangle just click this link and you'll be amazed at the story behind this art form.
On this tile I've used a variation of Knightsbridge for the border, 2 little strings of Tipple amongst the Hollibaugh.
I've also changed to Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface 100 lb. paper. I feel like I got a smoother crisper image and I like the way the shading stump worked on this paper also.
Hollibaugh has not been a favorite of mine but I really like the dramatic feel to this tile.

Tackle It Tuesday #77-W

Artful Creations    Tackle It Tuesday-#77-W

At Artful Creations this week we're up to the letter "W". That leaves only 3 letters to go.
For this letter I broke my mold and used 3 tangles instead of just one. They are: Wired, Waax, and Warangaie. As I divided up the tile I liked the way it ended up with a "W" in the middle.
I changed to Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface 100 lb. paper. I am really glad I stepped out of my box and tried this paper. The pen glides smoothly, the shading is smooth also, and I felt like the result was a crisper cleaner image. The real Zentangle tiles are 100% cotton heavy weight fine artists paper with a vellum surface. I've used them but I really like this Bristol paper for a change.
Thanks for visiting--

Holiday Sparkle Card

I belong to the on line community Live Love Cards. To become a member and have access to lots of videos, techniques, challenges, and much more there is a small fee of $2.50 a month or $27.00 a year.
I was already a follower of Darlene DeVries on YouTube so when she created this community it wasn't hard to bite on the $27. 00 for a whole year. Ok, I've got the sales pitch over. It's worth a click over to check it out for yourself.
Now to the card. I have to start out by saying that my card is a CASE of Darlene's that she posted a few days ago. She is so talented with watercoloring techniques with several different kinds of products. I didn't have all the same supplies she had but I wanted to see if I could appoximate her card. This would be a similar but not the same.
The card base is Stampin' Up Crushed Curry card stock. A piece of watercolor paper, masking fluid, a brush dedicated to the masking fluid and lots of practice flicking small dots onto the upper part of paper. My masking fluid is several years old so I know now to get some fresh probably will flick better. The rest of my supplies are fresh, though not the same as Darlene's, maybe this will spark your interest enough to click over to see what she did with her supplies and compare what I used.
My supplies are as follows: Distress Paints Spiced Marmalade, Festive Berries, Dusty Concord, Ranger Archival Ink-Potting Soil, Stampin' Up Stamp set-Sheltering Tree, Faber Castell Whipped Spackle, Deco Art Glamour Dust, VersaMark Ink, Stampin' Up Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Stampin' Up Stamp set-Festive Fireplace-for the sentiment.
You can create cards that you see and like without running out and purchasing all like supplies. Your card will be similar but you wouldn't want it the same. This way you can give credit to the person who created the original and an original of your own that you've practiced the techniques and you can say well done for a try at this and either add it to your list to try again or mark it off and move on.
I like my card well enough that I'm going to send it to a friend.

Every Inchie Monday Crochet

Every Inchie Monday     Crochet

I had to bring out my rusty crochet skills for this challenge. Today it's Crochet at Every Inchie Monday.
Of course, I couldn't find any of my tiny steel hooks so I scrounged around my many stashes because sometimes I use supplies for other projects, not necessarily what they are intended for.
After my crochet piece turned into a small white wreath. If you squint hard it will look like that to you also. LOL I brought out some Stampin' Up red glitter paper. Great stuff, the glitter doesn't come off.
I guess this appeared because there is so much Christmas everywhere already. I'm off to enter.

I will say Happy Holidays to all, whatever you might celebrate!

Tackle It Tuesday #76 V

Artful Creations     Tackle It Tuesday #76-V
This week at Artful Creations we are tackling the Letter V.
I used the very pointy version of the tangle Voga for this V and quite a bit of shading. I guess I picked this version because I feel a little bit prickly this week.
We will be experiencing Thanksgiving here in the U.S. next week. As of Friday the kids get out of school and don't go back until Nov. 30th.
I shouldn't feel prickly because I have so many things to be thankful for but some days you just feel out of sorts. I'll have to get my holiday self out of the closet and dust her off so believe it or not ring in the new year very very soon.
One last UGH, ok. I'm done.

i am the diva,CZT Weekly Challenge #244 "Tripoli Triptastic"

i am the diva, CZT     Weekly Challenge #244-"Tripoli Triptastic"

This afternoon as I worked on this tile I thought about all the posts I've read on the internet and all the news stories I've watched on TV and I felt more and more like this tile represents what is happening around us in these present days. A fractured world. It doesn't seem to matter whether human beings live close together or far apart there are always some who are trying to do away with others. Such a shame when we have so many more educated people on the planet than ever before that as higher beings we don't seem to be smarter.
I've always been a person who sees a glass half full. I will not let anyone take that away from me. Hope and Happiness are still special concepts no matter what or how hateful people try to destroy it.
I am still going to close my posts:

Every Inchie Monday--Exotic

Today was a chilly rainy day here in N.TX. As I thought about the prompt Exotic for this weeks Inchie my mind wandered off to some exotic travels that are on my Bucket List. I ran across this tiny stamp from Close To My Heart from several years ago and a piece of my Brusho Crystal paper that brought the song "Sailing, Sailing over the Ocean Blue" to my ears. I'm sure the big sailing ships were a sight to behold and for the traverlers of that day the places they sailed to were very exotic.
Maybe this Inchie will get me back on track this evening and hopefully stay that way the rest of the week.

The Bright Owl Zendala Dare #116

The Bright Owl     Zendala Dare #116

Like the last post I was left in the dust last week in entering the regular challenges I enter. I got the art work done just never posted.
The tangles I used on the first round Zendala are: Betweed, Reticulated, Parodox, and Ammon. The large template I cut out and tangled I did not keep up with the tangles I used. I did get the sun faces out of the same book Erin got her faces: Yoga for Your Brain by: Sandy Steen Bartholomew.
I'm off to enter because it looks like Erin has left the challenge open for people like me. One of these days I will learn to manage my time better.

Tackle It Tuesday #75 U

Artful Creations    #75-U

Last week left me in the dust. I think Cheryl still has the challenge open so I'm going to go over and put my U in line.
I used the tangle Unyun for the U and sat it on the tangle Up and Across.
Tomorrow is V hope I can get that done and entered this week like I'm supposed to. That's the polite way to join in challenges.

i am the diva,CZT Weekly Challenge #243

i am the diva, CZT     Weekly Challenge #243

We are challenged this week to leave a majority of white space. Of course, the only white space you will find on my tile are the oval orbs with the blue, green, and white PrismaColor pencil. This bold tangle is called Purk.
I had ordered a Tints on Tan kit and received it Saturday. I have looked at everything in the kit and read the instructions, but not really practiced the instructions. I just grabbed my Micron Black and Sepia pens, the white, blue, green, and sepia PrismaColor pencils and a cool light gray Copic marker.
My mind said heart on a tan piece of card stock.
This is my bold heart as I stride through this next week and into the holidays.
I really admire Laura. She's raising 2 wonderful boys and stepping up to many challenges I'm sure not of her choosing, but she's doing it with Grace and Love and still providing a fun challenge for all of her loyal followers.
I enjoy seeing her fun family pictures and hearing about all the things they do together as a family her energy seems boundless. That said while she's taking care of everyone I hope she takes some time to take care of herself.
Speaking of taking care of others, this week in the US it is Veterans Day. Please take time to think about all countries of the world's military. They are mostly young men and women away from home for the first time and thrust onto the world's stage having to follow orders from people they hardly know. Whether we agree with their countries ideology or not they are the front line of defense for their particular country and they all have Mother's who miss them when they are gone.
So much for my Veterans Day speech.

Every Inchie Monday Nymph

This week I went straight to my stamps for this cute little fairy stamp. I have stamped her in Gold Encore ink and embossed it with Stampin' Up Iridescent Ice embossing powder on one of my tiles I punched out of the paper I practiced Brusho Crystals on. It was mostly the blue sky with what looked like trees so I accentuated the trees with metallic pencils and then stamped the fairy on top.
She will be called Winnie the Wood Nymph from this day forward.

The Bright Owl Zendala Dare #115

The Bright Owl     Zendala Dare #115

This is the template Erin has given us this week to create with. Since it is the beginning of the month she also adds a little extra challenge for us. Thanksgiving here in the US is the end of this month to complete the extra challenge we were to use tangles that spelled out the word Thanks.
Here is my Zendala that uses the tangles Trimonds, Hypnotic, Afterglo, Neit-lite, Kay-Tee, and Sparkle, or variations of.

After practicing the tangles that I just couldn't seem to get the hang of, I decided to just tangle the 3 1/2" X 3 1/2" square tile with some random tangles.

If you are somewhere in the world and have already celebrated Thanksgiving or are here in the US and are already planning how you will celebrate Thanksgiving this year like my husbands family is doing, I hope you have lots to be thankful for and will experience some happiness on that day. For that matter I hope you are all experiencing happiness every day.

Challenges Not Done

Over in YouTube world when someone just talks to their followers it's called a Vlog. I'm not sure what it's called in the blogging world so I'm probably just rambling to hear myself ramble.
I have not done the challenge at i am the diva, czt this week. The challenge was to do a Monotangle using Maria Thomas' new tangle Gourdgeous. I love fall and I love gourds of all shapes and sizes. I practiced the tangle several times between general living and could just not get it to flow or even look remotely like the step outs. Even though there are no mistakes in Zentangle it is best to kind of be able to recognize the tangle you are trying to learn.
That being said the same thing happened to me over at Tickled To Tangle. Adele has created a new tangle called Sand. With quite a few attempts I just wasn't getting the hang of the step outs.
Zentangle is supposed to be relaxing and fun. I wasn't feeling either with these two challenges this week. I'm not giving up, I've just put those two tangles aside for the moment and will practice them later in the month. I will probably even post my results just so you can hear me clapping myself for reaching the goal of learning two new tangles.
OK, I'm off to post and enter the challenge over at The Bright Owl.
Thanks for listening (or reading).

Artful Creations Weekly Challenge#75 "T"

Artful Creations   Weekly Challenge #75-"T"

We're up to "T" this week. I'm coming to the end of my large sheet of watercolor paper that I experimented with my new set of Brusho Crystals. They are so vibrant and fun to play with.
When I put the "T" in the middle of the tile, drew the tangle Tortuca in then put the aura around it, I thought that's just to lonely. With further search I came up with the tangle Triral for the border, but it was still needing something so I filled in the background with the tangle Tadpoles. I didn't really stick to the exact way to draw Tadpoles, they are just squiggling everywhere like Tadpoles do. That's the beauty of Zentangle there are no mistakes.
Thanks for visiting. Click over and give Cheryl and the other two gals who have entered the challenge some love.

Every Inchie Monday Emotion

Every Inchie Monday     Emotion

This week our prompt at Every Inchie Monday is EMOTION. I chose Theater Muses. Where in the world can you find such highs and lows of emotion except in the real world from whence the playwrights draw their stories.
A one inch square from some Brusho paper and hand drawn Muse masks.
Sticking with emotion, we've hit November 2 so put on a Happy Face and let's all slide into the Holidays together.
